My brain is twisting into knots... what do you mean Kanata was alive and faked her death to get revenge on Hinata who she was jealous of since they were kids? 😭 Kanata is nuts! I see where Hinata gets it from!
Shit is hitting the fan FOR REAL!!!! MIka got raped because of Hinata? That's some VILLAINOUS-level shit! (Nobody deserves for that to happen to them...) Wow...
I was a Da-Hae shooter but also conflicted! I loved her rise to power though!
Ooooh, I didn't start liking Do-Hun till much, much later on. Found him annoying. But Yun-Ho didn't do a bad job playing him at all! I liked Do-Kyung too.
The wingmen were GOATS! Sam-Do was my fave with his snacking and him coming in clutch most of the time as Ha-Ryu's assistant. Tae-Baek and Ms. Hong were cool sidekicks too. Loved them.
Ha Ryu grew on me too. That man locked in after everything that happened to him. Sometimes I didn't know who to root for because he started sinking lower and lower too. Ha Ryu and Do-Kyung had serious chemistry... 👀
Not just Jae-Woong. THE DAUGHTER TOO!!!! Her death made me cry! 😭 I don't think I ever got over it!
This reminds me much more of the dramas Sponsor, Artificial City, and The World of the Married than Penthouse,…
I'll read the manga for sure! I also think that Korean culture plays a role in why so many k-dramas are black and white. Especially when it comes to female characters. This is why I'm SO glad it's changing now. I get so tired of "fluffy, cute sweetheart MC vs. evil, seductive, petty bitch antagonist" all the time. Why not shake it up? Have the MC be a little grey, or an outright villain!
I have not watched Fabricated City. Whoopsie lol but I'll take a look at King of Pigs.
For makjangs: THAT and the sheer dramatics. It's realistic but also unrealistic (Korean rich folks in real life are NUTS.) Like, would this happen in real life? Yes but no. I love seeing messiness. I love the cartwheels in logic. I love the chaos. It's never boring to me 😂
Not Cha Jung-Won 😭 I miss her! I WISH we had a Cha Jung-Won or Shin Hwa-Kyung (from Secrets and Lies) here.…
She would! (Even if it took her a long time to take down Tae-Seok.) Hwa-Kyung would turn Baek-Ho and Jun-Ho against each other while using them. Icon.
A Graceful Liar was a treat for me! That, Queen's House, and Secrets and Lies. The Promise, too. Hell, any other writer would've ate this up. I would've loved to see Lee Do-Hyun's take on it, though, lol
Except First Man did it better than WIAV 😭 and at least Jung-In was the actual FL from the start in Snow White's Revenge (and promoted as such!) Matter of fact, the earliest example I can think of for a daily drama with a female villain protagonist is Pardon/Forgiveness from 2000, on SBS. The evil FL was Ko Ju-Hee, played by Im Ji-Eun. Or, for a more popular example... Lee Soo-Hyun (played by Hong Eun-Hee) from the 2008 MBC daily drama Don't Be Swayed. Outright villainess. The amount of crimes she committed were INSANE!
Dangerous Woman (2011) also had the "antagonist as the true protagonist" thing going on too lol
I advocate for more villain protagonists in daily dramas. More in k-dramas overall, actually. We need MORE! WE WANT MORE!
I am curious, are we blaming KSH for her death or grooming or both? I also don't trust the parents. Assuming the…
The thing is, South Korea's justice system is flawed and biased against women (and the poor...) Extremely so. Chaebols basically own and run the country. So I personally wouldn't put much trust in their justice system. I just think everyone played a role in this tragedy. Her parents, the agency, KSH, netizens, the entertainment industry. It's more unfortunate than anything else, no matter who or what we blame. She passed away far too young. 😔
To me the villain is the protagonist anyway. If you view the drama with that lens it makes it easier to watch.…
Oh man... in that case, I hope the "Jun-Ho double agent theory" is correct!
Jang-Mi has been disappointing. Straight-up. I have given up on her completely. 😂 I can at least see her and Jun-Ho being or ending up as friends, though.

I was saying it as a general example. Not necessarily specific to this case. I do blame her parents, there's a lot of cases in the entertainment industry (worldwide) where parents exploit their children for fame and allow them to get abused. It's unfortunately common!
Some of the links are broken, try to use a backup server/site. I ended up having to switch back to Asiaflix for the last few episodes.
