Good ending! The revenge was more like karma, but I didn't mind it. The villains got what they deserved and destroyed themselves in the process. 10/10. My overall score for both parts is a 9.5/10. Great drama, would recommend it!
Good, good, so far. Some of the content is unnecessary in my opinion, like:
The pedophile teacher (wtf???) Sa-Ra getting off while high on drugs in the church, and then the video being posted everywhere - it rubbed me the wrong way for SO many reasons. Hye-Jung stripping naked twice for some reason? Okay???
I don't mind mature dramas, but like... was this actually unnecessary? ðŸ˜
I really do thank you for reading it and for your kind comment. As I followed the drama, I found myself becoming…
Wow! Great answer... I definitely agree with that analysis! I hope you create a blog or website someday, your reviews are very analytical from what I've seen.
What the hell is the point of the pedophile teacher? His character seems so unnecessary 😠I'm so glad Jae-Jun beat his ass, the ONE good thing he did. Again, I'm neutral on the romance. I personally don't ship Dong-Eun with Yeon-Jin's husband (Do-Young) either. I'd rather have her alone. And Sara going through withdrawals... geez. Idk if I feel bad for her or not. That fight between Do-Young and Jae-Jun was the highlight of episode 12!
She and Jang Seo-Hee were the best actresses in the cast for sure.
I still haven't watched Miss Mermaid, but I have watched several of her dramas. Incredible actress! One of my all-time favorites, I'd love to see her in more non-makjangs.
I'm finally getting around to finishing this. So far I hate Jae-Jun the most, especially with every other word…
Adding onto this, I'm neutral on the husband too. I don't really ship with Dong-Eun, I'd rather have her single. Not every k-drama needs romance in it!
I'm finally getting around to finishing this. So far I hate Jae-Jun the most, especially with every other word coming out of his mouth being a curse word 😠I find Hye-Jung super annoying too. (Side note: It's crazy to see Cha Ju-Young here after seeing her insane performance in Climax.) Sa-Ra is a chaos agent. Dong-Eun is what you call locked in! I also do not care for the romance with the ML and would rather not have it in this drama at all. I don't care about the maid/older woman either, the attempt at comedy relief feels very out of place...
What's funny is Laura becomes absolute meme material in the second half from what I've heard & read! Seri was just nuts. But Laura? Comedic queen! ðŸ˜
She was a sociopath, but I'd say it was good. If you want a psychological thriller without any romance and a villain…
You're welcome. Ohhh, okay. That makes a lot of sense!
Jung Sol-Mi? 🤔 I don't think she's in this drama. But Go Hyun-Jung and Park Jin-Hee are. The drama made me a real Park Jin-Hee (and Go Hyun-Jung) fan, I can say that for sure! Haha. The funniest thing is, compared to other makjang dramas or dramas with makjang tropes, Return feels like a noir/crime drama. I used to mainly just watch makjang dramas (+ romcoms), and while I do love them, my taste is definitely changing. I'm gettimg more into crime & political/psychological thrillers. Melodramas do have my heart though.
The behind the scenes drama for Return leading up to the FL being recasted was WILD... so, so messy. 😂 Even before that, there was major drama.

And who's the red-haired lady that uploaded the article?
Still enjoying this drama anyway.
