I don't think the President of South Korea would be present (even as an actor) in a daily drama. My best & biggest bet is that it's likely a Minister of a Department.

I've never been into dramas like this, but I wanted to... expand my horizons? I finished the first episode, and so far, I do like it. I enjoy villain protagonists, so this should be a fun watch. I've also never watched a drama set in the 70s during Korea's dictatorship era.

Okay, you raise a good point with the victim part, although that was happening more in the first half lol. JW was super manipulative at first. As for Young-Chae... complicated feelings. Like, I hate her and I want to see her punished, but at the same time, I feel really bad for her and would not mind a redemption at all. If the writer did it, I wouldn't really complain. Nan-Suk is a chaos agent. I have no idea what's gonna happen to her, but I wanna see it either way 😂

I feel like JW became more proactive after the rooftop fall, but now, with her pretending to align with Tae-Seok AND finally working with Hye-Ra (she actually grew on me during the rooftop fall/coma saga. No negative feelings about her anymore), Ha-Neul, Se-Mi, and Nan-Suk, she's getting some stuff done. I think JW almost never being happy is likely a product of her trauma, at least that's how I see it. She can be reckless and impulsive, but she's also persistent and headstrong. She's not weak, which is what I like. Most daily FLs tend to get beaten down for the first part of the drama, then get back up and get stronger. Here, it was... subverted, I guess? 🤔 But I definitely think she can come off as annoying and still short-sighted at times.

I never said that- HOWEVER, people are attacking the actress. That's not okay at all. I can dislike characters without attacking the people playing them. Which I've seen a lot of.

Additionally, people are fundamentally ignoring the plot. You don't have to like JW (I do call her out, if you've seen my other comments), but to act like everything is her fault when it's VERY obviously not- not *completely*- is nuts. I would not watch a show where I despised the protagonist to such an extent. Which is why I dropped "A Woman Who Swallowed the Sun", and that wasn't even the main reason... it was the writing that made me hate it.

Plus, the misogyny part? That's just a general pattern I've noticed among k-drama fans. It happened with Dear X, Penthouse, Secret Garden, Temptation of Wife, Personal Taste, Bridal Mask, etc. It's not unique to this drama. And I did not say it was unique to AGL. It's the truth, that's what it is. I think asking for clarification would be helpful, too.

I'm fine with people not liking the FL and being stuck on episode 5. I don't care. What I'm NOT okay with is people ignoring the entire show to serve their perspective and attacking the actors. Reel vs. Real, everyone. There's a difference. I still hate Tae-Seok. Still hate Young-Chae (who I find dumb and annoying too, btw.) My fave is still Nan-Suk. But I'm not gonna ignore what happened in the show to suit my POV. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Just sayin'.

Plus, I don't constantly complain if I see someone hating on her, unless I did it in my dreams. 😂 I usually just go about my day and enjoy the drama. This is just a pattern I've noticed. And there's *SOME* commenters (ahem, InspectorMegre) who are being damn nasty in general and attacking others here. I wasn't doing that, just expressing my opinion. Is there a problem with that? 🤔

It is incredibly annoying. Misogyny plays a role too, because I know damn well the response would be different if JW were a guy instead. Open Google and read what an anti-hero is, for god's sake. If you can open YouTube, you can Google it.
