XJ to HY post royal court feast/celebration and HY's female identity exposure

XJ to the king and court about HY
This should be coming up soon in the drama...and I hope it will be deliver just like the novel!

Celebration feast with king and court officials (usually bring families to these events)/HY identity exposure:

XJ announced HY is his fiancee.
Other single ladies at court who are salty was like: how? why? when???...i don't believe it!!!

XJ:
“她的确不是我的未婚妻。”
(她) “是我眼中景,心中事,意中人。”

She is not (just) my fiancee...
(she) is the vision/view in my eye, matters of my heart, my one true love/sweetheart.

- this left everyone gasp with their mouths open b/c they were surprised XJ, with his cold demeanor would say this out and loud.

post feast in the carriage leaving for HY's residence:

XJ: do you like the moon?“
“喜欢月亮吗?”
HY: ....yes (mandarin xihuan 'like')
“……喜欢。”
XY: now...the moon now belongs to you.
“现在,月亮是你的了。”

XJ have a pretty romantic side :)

If those noble ladies, who could only do sewing or cooking or arranging flowers (because they were taught that…
the ladies shown in that audience are all noble/wealthy women. at most, they are required to learn to sew as an art form to display their talents and poetry/education level. it's not some contribution to help her family or her husband's family. they have maids to sew and do all that. they don't ever go into the kitchen or even know how to cook. at most, they may supervise the maids and servants on how it's done but never do it themselves or step in the kitchen.

that's the reality of society at the time for elite women. even in war times, they are kept inside safe quarters. it's the poor/lower class women who is out there slaving away to cook/feed/nurse the sick, old. and injured during wartime.

100% agree, all the actors have done a great job with the action scenes, love ZY and CL in this show!
actors definitely not the issue. if anything, it's the screenwriter and how they adapt the novel to drama w/ the resources they have. even so, the drama is enjoyable up to this point so far.

Guys rather than looking for logic in every point please appreciate the fight scenes...that too fighting with…
with the limitation, the fight scenes are not that bad. it's not exactly like the novel but is relaying the same theme/plot to fit the narrative.

Is it true that she was pregnant before she died ??? Who was the father of her child ??
you may have mistaken the Double plot for HY. First life: HY was not pregnant at the time of her death. her husband barely spends time w/ her. their union is more of a convenience of advantage for both family. even though the husband doesn't care for her, he doesn't mistreat her. but due to that, servants started to treat her less kind or gave her any importance/respect or think of her as the legit lady of the manor. HY is pretty much invisible to them.

husband only request for her hand in marriage b/c he overhead that HY is the real general. he was able to foster a deal with the He family in exchange the He family will help with his career advances. so when HY died, the He family married off HY's younger sister to keep both families 'connected'.
husband is aware of what the He family wanted to do but his thought process was 'i didn't want to kill her. the order didn't came from me. i have nothing to do with her death. if you want to go after someone, go after the He family'. that's his denial to avoid any link/responsibility/contribution to HY's murder. he's just a bystander in all this.

Second life: HY reborn into another girl (with the exact same name) who is about 2-3 years younger than HY/XJ. When she married XJ, she's still a virgin with the memories of being married experience from her first life, which is why she doesn't think she is pure enough to be with XJ.
XJ and HY married and they have a daughter. they returned to JiYang (7 years from their last visit) with a 3-4 year old Xiao Yao (sounds like carefree, HY name the daughter).

Yess...people don't understand the trauma she went through in water...even in the 20th episode she could hear…
yes, despite the changes, the drama version is watchable...it didn't add more unnecessary villain drama (so far) like other adaptions.

novel:
she was not pregnant at the time of her death. she and her husband had more of a respectful union. her husband favor the concubine more.

wow, they totally excluded Liu BuWang's contribution, fight scene and death from the drama. he did a lot more to help turn the tide of the war in favor of Ji Yang.

novel:
HY died of force drowning in her first life. she was drugged and killed off by her husband's concubine. The order to kill her was from her Uncle/He RuiFei. At the time, she's already blind, but she's still very active and strong as a blind person. The husband know of it but didn't do anything to prevent it from happening. The He family was hoping to use her blindness to confine and strip her of any willingness to explore outside the manor, make her dependent.

So when HY fell into the water and base on the memory of how she died, she pretty much freaked out and sink deeper. XJ came to her rescue and give her air. that's pretty much their first kiss.

I feel that war scenes are more rushed than normal scenes. The main thing revolves around war, right? But they…
there are couple of war story arc in the novel...all marks the journey, determination, peserverance of HY's will to reclaim what was hers.

since this is limited/cap off at 36 episodes, it's not enough time to be thorough of all the plots and characters from the novel. it would be more complete if this drama was filmed with 2 seasons.

Lately, historical dramas, with some exceptions, present narratives and characters with 21st-century discourse,…
yeah, i see the themes encouraged by modern or costume/historical dramas. women and men should be depicted of the era/time it took place. a lot of these 'feminist' speech, actions, independence, mentions are very rare and limited in history throughout the dynasty. history becomes entertainment and it's a joke in the end b/c it fails to deliver/teach and show how far the genders have come.

HY was not given the life of a feminist or independence. she was thrown into it by the men who who want to sacrifice her for the greater good of their own greed. in the rundo story arc (which seemed to be excluded in the drama), she encouraged the kidnapped/hostage women (who were sexually assaulted by their captors) to live for themselves and value their lives...not to challenge the norms at the time. the women who were saved were ready to die to be a source of 'food' for the city who is starving. they were convinced by the city general to sacrifice themselves to feed the starving city/army.

Geez... why is the 2ML so annoyingly everywhere? I don't know why the FLs are always so friendly with them knowing…
NOVEL:
CZ is not a villain. he's just trying to survive.

his dad is a womanizer and met his mom (a young miss from a well off family in a small province). he left and promised to return/marry her. she found out he was pregnant w/ CZ afterwards. she refused to abort the baby and her family disowned her. she traveled to the capital in hopes to reunite w/ her love. along the way, she was kidnapped and ended up sold to a brothel. CZ was brought up at the brothel until his dad sent for him. CZ endured emotional and physical abuse from his mother...at the time, she's lost hope, desperate to be free of the brothel, hate/love/hope for her love. she had a customer who knows the dad and the customer mentioned it to the dad. the dad wanted to bring the lover and son home but his legit/main wife had other plans. main wife sent people to retrieve CZ but killed the mom.

while growing up at the chu manor, CZ was mistreated by the main wife. main wife tried to find ways to kill him off. CZ's dad favor him b/c he's a good looking kid compared to his sons born from the main wife. the other sons are 'plain' and does not carry the dad's handsome features. due to that, the dad bring CZ out to socialize and from there CZ met the chancellor who took a liking to him and took him in as his student. from that point on, the main wife dared not to mistreat, abuse or kill CZ.

CZ is grateful to the chancellor but is also wary of him. the chancellor has no kids but a daughter (drama; grand daughter) and he personally pick/teach/groom CZ to marry the daughter and become his successor.

CZ is not a villain, he's just on the wrong side of the court, which eventually cause his downfall.

CZ likes HY but cannot express or profess b/c of the spoil chancellor daughter.
she pretty much kills any girl who likes/lay eyes on CZ. he wants power so he could protect the ones he loves from harm. he wants power so he could be free of being a puppet. he wants power so he could live a life he wants and not have to answer to anyone.

HY is the only one that respects/values him as an individual. CZ is touched by HY's concern for his safety and when she gave him the golden vest to protect him, he was even more convinced of his feelings for her.

Point is: if one breaches legal contract clauses OR commits said crimes (abducting her while wheelchair bound…
You don’t know how to read. There is nothing in my comment that is neglecting her treatment, diagnosis, actions….etc. stating the very obvious in my opinion. Her legal battles will not be a smooth one bc money and power will play a role how all this unfolds.

It’s being objected base on what is out so far. There are comments that jumped to show evidence or she’s a liar claim, which is absurd bc everything has a process.

No. Not a bot or a hater…jeez, calm down you. Why are you trying regulate people’s opinion on here…is obsessively weird.
