I'm probably in the minority here, but the drama started feeling draggy and boring by episode 29 or so. The only interesting part that made me continue was Princess Wanning and her backstory.
Don't get me started on that ending. I wonder what the hell they were thinking.. They really decided to shove so much into that last episode, especially the last 10 minutes. And Shen Yurong had been a pretty quiet character up to this point. Why did he suddenly turn into some psychopath desperate for Xue Fangfei to love him back? Everything was so rushed like damn gimme some time to let the events marinate first!
The ending is supposedly happy because the leads are still alive. But it didn't feel happy to me. How is it happy Wen Ji and Lu Ji literally just DIED?? 😭 I believe that a happy ending shouldn't just mean that the leads survive and end up together, it should also mean that the side characters like friends and family are happy or at least content too!
Kudos to The Double team for providing a special bonus episode though. Not a lot of dramas do that. Plus, Wu Jinyan + Wang Xingyue's chemistry is so good!
can someone spoil me, is there a second fl/ml? yk the one who has a crush on ml/fl (is there is idk if i wanna…
There are some people who admire ML but none of them have ill intent or bring trouble to the leads. From start to end, this drama is a fluffy, easy watch with zero stressors and zero problems.
Tried to pick this up 3 times now and still failed to get hooked.
This seems to be one of those dramas where fans usually like it for the people, not necessarily the plot. If you don't like or grow to like any of the actors, actresses, or characters then you'll find it hard to continue. I know because if not for the second leads and their steaming chemistry (plus the drama's beautiful cinematography), I'd have dropped it.
This is Jing/YaoJing response and reason for why XY accepted Jing's 15yrs. promise. Its quite disturbing. 'No…
They forgot to understand that the difference between an ordinary woman and Xiao Yao is that Xiao Yao has severe abandonment issues, so severe that she'd rather ignore her heart than risk being abandoned.
Its rumoured to be august.Edit: now I'm seeing october 🤦🏻♀️
Considering the lack of promotions, I highly doubt it'd be August unless they're planning to airdrop it. October sounds more reasonable.. but where's the confirmation 😭
"Every time Xiaoyao was happy with TSJ, she never seem to remember XL."— Now, that is just not true. Allow me…
If XL confessed to XY and they weren't enemies, do you think XY would still choose Jing? Hint: Yang Zi herself said that if XL confessed then the ending would be different. Hint 2: Yang Zi also said that whoever XY ends up with isn't her own choice. Hint 3: Yang Zi also said that XY did not choose Jing, he was just the only one who could put her first.
And the Lovers Bug is literally solid evidence that XL and XY's love is mutual. They never turned into Heartbreak Bugs, EVER, even when XY dated Jing. XL had to kill them himself. I think it's you who doesn't know what Tong Hua's intention was.
If that's still not convincing enough, read this exerpt from XY's character diagram that was included in an edition of the novel:
...对相 柳有情, 但误以为相柳讨厌自己, 一生 渴望全心全意的相护, 后与涂山璟结 为夫妻。 She loves/has feelings for Xiang Liu but mistakenly thinks that Xiang Liu hates her. Throughout her life, she yearns for wholehearted mututal protection. Later, she marries Tushan Jing.
As we may all know, Tu Shan Jing, the second male lead and endgame character in the world of 'Lost You Forever,'…
"Jing never has to get his hands dirty because he can hire someone to do the dirty work. Jing can stay "kind" because all the "dirty", difficult business is done by someone else."
Omg yes, this part right here! It's easy for people to think Jing is kind because they've never seen him do anything wrong PHYSICALLY. They don't realize that you can be verbally and emotionally abusive/manipulative too.
I was just thinking of how some of my favorite topics would end or fade away and where would I find such good…
Yes, lots of credit to Tong Hua too for creating this beautiful piece of art! She wrote the story and characters so well and poetically, that even I can't help but love/appreciate the aspects of LYF that I hate.

I thought of this too. It's the first time I've had and read such great discussions about a drama... I don't think we'll ever be able to find another like this 😞
😳🕯️ your own LIFE is worth infinitely more than millions of movies
But watching dramas is part of what makes my life more interesting 😭 Just as Xiang Liu said: 只要天地间还有这样的景色 生命就很可贵 (As long as such scenes exist in this world, life is precious)
I watched the special episode on kisskh! If the link doesn't work, then copy and paste it into a new tab on your browser.

1. 等不到的等待 The Waiting That Can't Be Waited For
2. 偏爱人间烟火 Prefer Mortal Fireworks (with Yang Zi)
3. 桃花血 Peach Blossom Blood
