i understand what you mean, but i feel like they're just acting according to the characters. if you read the novel, you'll know that mo qing cheng (tan jianci) would usually speak in a deeper voice to gu sheng (zhou ye). plus, the drama is supposed to be "boring" - it's a cute and fluffy romance with barely any actual plot.
by the way, i highly recommend you watch "lost you forever" if you wanna see tan jianci's exceptional acting :')
