Okay so these are just my honest thoughts. I was super looking forward to this drama because I love Zhou Ye. I…
I had the same thoughts. Especially this: "Gu Sheng, on the other hand, behaves more maturely than Tong Nian but, for some reason, the way she reacts whenever ML Interacts with her, makes me slightly annoyed." (Also btw if you didn't know, the novel author of GGS and LMLMV are the same person. So I guess the author tends to write these type of FLs and stories)
I first watched this show for Tan Jianci and I've grown to like and look forward to Zhou Ye's projects as well. However, the plot (if you even consider it as one) of this drama just wasn't it for both of them. I admit the first 16 episodes or so were nice and cute but the rest felt super draggy and boring. I don't see the reason why they had to stretch it this long when barely anything happens.
I've just watched the first episode... did they just tell us the whole plot at the very beginning or what did…
Yep, you're right. Episode 1 introduces the present first. It'll go back to the past starting episode 2. I don't like how the producers made it that way, because it's confusing like you said and literally spoils the whole drama π but it is what it is
One thing I wish is that GS would cook all by herself for once or at least help MQC cook. He tells her all those recipes and shows her what to do but doesn't let her try doing it herself. (And no, passing him the ingredients doesn't count.) She just watches and goes like "Oh okay." I don't think she's ever actually tried cooking his recipes either, she just likes listening to his voice.
Then... whenever GS does give/make him food, it's usually cooked by her mom, from her family's supermarket (aka just pre-made snacks), or prepped by MQC. It's not something that she made 100% all by herself.
I've only watched 23 episodes so maybe she actually does later. But right now I don't see it. It feels like the relationship is mostly MQC giving and GS taking, and that bothers me, even if both of them don't mind.
This is a review written by someone else that fully represent why I strongly dislike this drama!Story is too cheesy…
Just a disclaimer to everyone who missed it: Spatina said this isn't their review, they only agree with and are sharing it.
I have yet to finish the drama so can someone tell me, does it ever reveal specfically when MQC fell in love with GS (or when he first heard her voice)? How old were both of them?
GS being 22 and MQC being 29 is not that bad of an age gap. But if GS was like 18 and MQC was 25 when he fell in love with her... [woop woop thats the sound of the policeeee] At that point, it wouldn't even matter if MQC is or isn't a saint. He should date girls around his age.
I didn't even think about this until I saw your/Spatina's comment.
Makeup, clothes, hair, and filters can drastically alter a person's appearance. And yes... sadly all or most of…
Damn... "not dieting is a death sentence" is such a sad way to put it... π I wish China could stop with its unrealistic and unhealthy beauty standards. Tan Jianci often wears shoes that enhance his height. He once said that the drama production teams would strategically try to make him look taller, like making him stand on a platform and the camera angles you mentioned.
Ps i have seen a variety show of the leads and I have to say they look slightly diffrent there. For example I…

Yang Zi is 167cm (about 5 ft 5-6 in) while Tan Jianci is 174cm (5 ft 8-9 in). He may be considered short compared to other actors, but his acting skills are unmatched. Literally the best. Exceptional. Outstanding. Unrivaled. Incomparable. Top-tier. Way, way better than many others who are taller but lack in the acting department.
It annoys me too. It feels like Mo Qing Cheng is singlehandedly carrying their relationship with all the conversations,…
@iseebutterflies Yes, it'd be nice if Gu Sheng took initiative more. Mo Qing Cheng is too good on the other hand. We all need someone like him in our lives haha. My opinion on this drama might be biased since I read the novel first so --> relative judgement. If I was like you and watched the drama without knowing anything, then I also probably wouldn't like it as much either.
She always annoys me with the thing when she answers 'mhm'. Like, girl your hearing is alright. I wish she has…
It annoys me too. It feels like Mo Qing Cheng is singlehandedly carrying their relationship with all the conversations, initiatives, and princess treatment lmao. But overall, drama Gu Sheng is a lot better than novel Gu Sheng. It's like- yes there are things in the drama that could be better, but at least it's way better than the novel. So that's what makes the drama bearable for me. @Droopy_Asleep also explained it well.
And... since you said this is the first Tan Jianci drama you've seen, I highly recommend you go watch "Lost You Forever." He slays even more there :-)

The best cast ever: Yang Zi, Zhang Wanyi, Deng Wei, Tan Jianci, Wang Hongyi, Dai Luwa, and so much more...

Really Really Miss You = Love Me, Love My Voice
Eternally Yearning For You = Lost You Forever
Hm... there's an interesting pattern in his project titles

JM: Why are you out again?
MQC: I'm going to sleep
JM: Where are you going to sleep?
Then MQC casually walks into JM's room without saying anything
*Don't forget that scene of them sleeping together π€£
