OMG... that's one character i really hated in this drama.. Chen Yanwen.. and of course his uncles.. who creeps around.. ! You know you get type casted ..so now you know if you see these characters, they are upto no good. Chen Yanwen was the cousin of Lady Yu Lou in Prisoner of Beauty... and Chen Xuan Qing was in Fated Heart ML's best friend who backstabbed him.

Let me tell you.. something, I think ASM.. they tried to make it more realistic.. Esp the YX part, for story sake they could have made a relation with QinLan and have a boy to inherit the title.. that's how drama usually goes. But him growing up with lots of trauma made him stay away from getting close to anyone, till he was impressed with GJZ, her friendly approach without any design on him, unlike Gu Lan looking at him with shades of hearts...!! So he will not get close to another person after she went with CYY.. Him going to war knowing he will die anyway... its better to die at war.. I think its more believable than like in PoJ, a butcher girl can walk into a military camp and kill the more ferocious opponent... and become a general.
btw I think in the book, he marries QingLan... i have read someone's comment on that..

10 more episodes is not the answer. Even a footnote will do... Its just tying up loose ends and giving a closure... Fu Hailians hand in every incident that happened from Fu Chuan, WXF, Marquis but I would have been happy to see him exiled... or beheaded..! being answerable to your actions.... !! him dying in fire is easy get away...! maybe he escaped with his servant, who was vicious fellow...
So is YX did a huge deed fighting and dying at war.. did they give honor the family... thats they could just read it out... at the end... just like they did after crown prince took the throne... they read out all those promotions etc..
Then what was the intention of introducing second daughter in law.. she was introduced half way through the drama... like producer asked to give her a part.... rofl!!
Tbh, this is my all time favorite cdrama. It gives me a very serene and nice feeling, so much so I’ve watched…
I have lost count of time I have come back and rewatched this drama.. Whats amazing is the creativity of director in getting each and every actors to excel in their part...
Recently I have watched "A Splendid Match" and it was really beautiful story, esp the relation between the Main Leads .. total trust, discuss everything, plan and scheme... together.. Also the Female lead is brought up by a loving powerful Grandmother... its not a massive drama like Minglan.. in any way... but the costumes were excellent... settings, even the music... Many people commented there are some similarties are there.. I couldnt find any obvious ones....other than, the empress dowager is the loving grandmother there.. I also felt.. the female lead is more like GT and ML is more like Minglan.. he is more soft spoken, dignified and clever strategist... exceptional martial arts skill. Anyway it made me come back and watch few episodes of Minglan again...!
i really don't think the last few episodes are as bad as these reviews make them out to be...

Why was Qing Pu introduced as proficient in Martial arts skills, she couldn’t even save when they were kidnapped or other incidents… other that cutting off the rope when father hanged himself and Wang guy was pushed down in the streets...!! After all the work ML did for the emperor, what happened to ML, Emperor, Fu Hai Lian…
But now that I watched the special episode ... its soooo good. somehow i was finding it difficult to move on from here... here is the link for those who haven't seen....

Actually i read somewhere that this is his first Kissing scene or scenes in a drama.! So I cannot say for sure...!
But I saw his interview where he said, the first scene they shot was a kissing scene and he was very nervous, there are many things to focus on doing a kissing scene, the physical contact, the angle, the camera and on top of all that, it has to look good....lol!! & the director was guiding them.. !! I feel after few scenes.. they both became more comfortable...!!
Another scene he mentioned was the emotional talk with Nie Feng Ming before he was lead to die...! It was soo good!
Ye Xian fell in love with her.. from the time she saved him when he fainted after climbing the mountain... but unfortunately, he seriously doesn't know how to demonstrate his feelings...His bickering often masks deep-seated insecurity. He uses arguments to offload uncomfortable internal feelings or childhood traumas... But he loved her so much, no one else could take that place... Sad though!!
Chen YanYun on the other hand, from the time he realised he has feelings for her... he went forward and told her and pursued her.. boldly.

Gu JinZhao from the day he saw CYY she was fascinated.. and kept him on a pedestal. He is the only person she never argues or contradict. but never ever thought he will ask her to marry him...! That's why he let herself go after CXQ...
It genuinely surprises me when people say they didn’t see Chen Yan Yun’s love for Jin Zhao or that it came…

The way he acted, walked, carried himself like a mature dignified official seriously made him look older.

The first time when she took the lantern, she was so angry with her father, all her focus was in destroying the gifts, so didn't notice the person with the lantern at all.. but the second time when she came with her cousin and saw him, she just couldn't take her eyes off him... stood there and stared with admiration and deep reverence, everything else in the room fades into background noise and even after introduction, Yao literally dragged her out of there.. he was intrigued by her actions.. burning stuff as well as playfulness with her cousin... also he wanted to see if she remembers... he was more serious and dignified, both were attracted but not aware of what or how. She knows CYY was this dignified official with authority, Ji Family worked / served them, not attainable, but you can see she always had high regard for him....
Ye Xian's was a complex character and Winwin did a brilliant job, but him and GJZ were more like best friends... both will do anything to save each other's life. He is more like a child with one toy and someone took it away...
IMO I think Ye Xian looked at CYY as someone he admired but he can never be like him due to his health condition, so every time he see GJZ with CYY, he used to go crazy... at the same time he always trusted CYY... and CYY on the other hand wanted YX to get serious and save his father.. whom CYY regarded highly... he treated him like a spoiled kid bro...
Pretty cool. My first FSF drama was Minglan and he was so good in that, then watched him in The Legend of Zhuohua.…
How is the drama, I started episode 1 to check how he sounds, its totally on that if I should continue or not....lol!! Now i am waiting for all episodes to be released then watch...!
