I don't understand Spirit of Death part .... Can u explain it ?
In episode 11 the monk tells Yeo Ri that her grandma tried everything in her power to stop the 8 feet spirit, going as far as summoning the spirit of death (a very dangerous practice very few shamans can survive), but all was useless and the ghost survived. We still don't know much about the spirit of death lore besides that it's powerful and dangerous.
I don't like how they are making the 8-feet spirit so powerful he is basically invincible right now. At this point he is a god, no less. Not even the actual spirit of death could kill him? And how can he absorb the very thing that could send him off (and weakened him on more than one occasion) and is the opposite of his element? I don't know, the way they give power and "nerf" characters for plot purposes feels so inconsistent and a little lazy. I know it's small details and I am being very critic, but if you set rules in your "magic system", you can't change them just like that. A fire spirit absorbed the very essence of a water deity. I'm so confused at how that was even possible.
I wish they'd helped more spirits throughout the series, I feel it would help the dynamics. It's solely focused…
Reading the summary of the drama I had honestly thought they were going to solve a lot more ghost haunting cases within the palace and capital, either by killing the true evil ones or help resolve grudges of the apparently evil ones and the "final boss" would have been the 8-feet spirit or whoever is behind him. I was expecting a slower build up to the most powerful ghost, a lot more detective and "ancient ghostbuster" work with them solving cases.
Just a reminder to mark your comments as spoiler if you're talking about the newest episode, especially if you're commenting on something important or shocking that happens in it
I somehow can’t get into this. Maybe I was expecting too much due to the hype, but to me this drama is mediocre.…
Perhaps because romance isn't really my genre, but I also prefer what they had before, however we want to name it. Their dynamic was fun to watch, with the bickering and the mutual light annoyance. And I have nothing against romantic couples and many people are here for the romance itself, but if the writers really want to take that route, I wish it wasn't a constant "I save you, you save me" like the past few episodes.
I thought the blind shaman told him not to kill her to bring her to their secret dungeon! Maybe I missed some?…
I got distracted for a moment, so I think I'm the one who missed something lol It probably really was the blind shaman who stopped the eunuch, I don't know why my brain just went "Bi Bi"
same I am in episode 10 right now. I didn't like the love triangle, there was no chemistry between the ML and…
The romance is honestly way too rushed. I get it's only eleven episodes (some of which less than an hour long), but there really wasn't any build up, especially when it came to FL falling for ML. At first she was very distrustful of him and then she started to believe he was her lost brother... so when did she begin to feel attraction and love for him? And I understand it's not actually incest, but at one point she DID believe him to be her brother and he WANTED her to believe that, so him sucking her finger and kissing her twice... I felt shivers and not the good kind. Every single interaction of them was not shot as her believing him to be the little brother. Too much (sexual) tension and longing gazes before she knew for sure he was lying about his identity. Wrong kind of chemistry. The scenes between the main leads and the ones between the FL and the adoptive brother really made me feel uneasy and I was tempted to skip some. They are dark and complex characters with their traumas and obsessions and I'd love to see more of it in kdramas, but they went a little too close to incest on one too many occasions and it made me uncomfortable.
Are they gonna do the Mr. Queen ending for ML? If so, immediately - 3 points to the score.
I don't think so? I haven't watched Mr Queen yet, but I think the circumstances are a bit different here. Did the king from Mr Queen know of the soul exchange at the end (AKA the man in the queen's body going back to his time and the queen's soul taking over)? Or did he know of the soul exchange at all? I sure hope they won't take this route with this drama, given Yeo Ri knows which soul is which and it would just be weird (to say the least) for her to marry Yun Gap if he were to go back in his body, unless he falls in love with her. Still weird tho... how could she fall in love with YG again when she fell for Gang Cheol while he was in YG's body? How could she move on from a past lover if the current one has that very same face? In any case, ethics and morals would pretty much fly out of the window (and in part they already did, since they are falling in love and becoming a couple while he's in another man's body and she's well aware of it) But, yeah, now I really hope they won't pull a Mr Queen ending for this drama as well
Am I the only one who feels... weird about this drama? I'm really enjoying it so far, but I can't help but feel like something's missing. I'm only halfway through, so that might be the reason, but it really feels small scale to me, and a little empty and rushed, like they cut scenes out.
So I'm a bit confused about something that happened towards the end of episode 10 You know when the evil blind shaman's helper was about to slash Yeo Ri with the dagger, but then someone stopped him and next scene she was being dragged away by the helper and she dropped the sachet to signal where she was dragged to... what happened there? I admit I looked away for a moment, so I might have missed something during that sequence, but my brain just went "Bi Bi probably possessed the eunuch" and moved on, but I was then proved wrong.
I wanna post about my theories but it keeps getting delayed I'm so lazy lolyes, please post something on the discussion.…
Your posts and answers are always so rich and well written, I'm always reading your take on an episode or detail If life (and laziness lol) will allow, please do post your theories sometimes, I'd love to hear about them
I see there are still no discussion topics about this drama and I kinda wanna post one with aesthetics and moodboards about the main characters It's been months since a drama stayed with me after finishing an episode, pushing me to think about it and be creative with it
Those theories are both so good I'd actually feel disappointed if the show doesn't do just that
I would be too busy trying to believe it myself, if it were to happen
Oh, you are so right. I started a bit late with watching dramas and now there's just so many I would like to watch, between old and new
And I don't feel any particular way about her? This is the second drama I've seen of her and I admit her two performances are not very different, so I wouldn't think of her as the best of actresses, but there's also a lot lot worse and her acting works for the character that is YR, so I don't mind it at all Some people on the internet need to start to realize what are the real priorities in life

Is Goblin any good? I've been meaning to start it in ages, but never got to
Also, yes, now he's definitely developing fondness and romantic feelings (or at least he's confused about possibly having them), but now she's of age, so the age gap is still crazy, but at least it's legal and she's an adult lol

It was basically all for nothing, in the end

Next step is finding him in my salad
Last sentence was a bit twisty, but it made sense, it made sense, don't worry lol
Also, thank you, if I do manage to start it and I'm confused about something, I'll take your offer
