There are two things I'm currently very confused about. 1. What exactly is the Bureau of the Blind purpose? Like, why was it established to begin with? What do they do? And the law against shamanism is so unclear at this point. I thought it was forbidden, but perhaps I missed something along the way. 2. We've seen with Bi Bi that there are other ways for them to ascend to the Heavens and become dragons, so why did Gang Cheol wasted all those years away and became adamant on using Yeo Ri to achieve that? I found the whole guardian spirit-shaman thing a bit confusing and unclear to begin with (I should probably rewatch the part where they explain it with more attention), but it clearly isn't the only way to ascend? Or do they have to stick to the way they originally choose? Did I overlook important clues and explanations or are they yet to be talked about in detail?
I’m enjoying the drama a lot but I need to vent something. Why do they just stand there and watch for a few…
I believe the characters just standing there for some time before taking action is an artistic choice of the director (as someone already mentioned) Think of it as when they slow down the scene moments before x character is hit by a car or a weapon: within the story, time moves normally, x character gets immediately hit or they take action within seconds, but what for the characters in the story is but a second or two is being prolonged to much longer for the viewers in order to create a more dramatic effect, suspense or introduce a cliffhanger (as seen many times in this drama and many others) Do I hate this? Yes. Is it annoying? YES. But I've seen it happening so often in media that my brain automatically erases the too long staring and not-moving to make it look like normal reactions and reflexes
who do you think Elder is? could it be the Choi man from the first episode or maybe someone completely new 👀
You mean the master the evil shaman was begging in the latest episode? I was also thinking about the nobleman Choi (something fishy about him plus the actor usually plays villain-y roles), but then I saw he's listed as a guest role and now I don't know what to think anymore
This drama is so good, but it's not nearly talked about enough. I would even make an argument that this is the…
Ratings with k-dramas (and especially when it comes to historical/fantasy-historical) tend to be brutal compared to, say, c-dramas of the same genre It's far from being perfect and I'm a little uneasy with the idea of them starting a romance while he's in a dead body, but it's also so good and really deserves more attention and talk Of all the dramas I watched this year, this is probably my second favourite and one that finally got me totally hooked from episode one
Probably because he wanted to perform shamanic activities behind the King's back, as the King openly disregarded…
I also thought this was the obvious reason (he wanted Yeo Ri to perform an exorcism to save the prince, but waiting the very last moment to tell her because she doesn't want to be a shaman anymore) and didn't think too much about it, but with this many people wondering why he lied to her I'm actually starting to second guess everything and expect some plot twist in the episodes to come.
This whole drama is about making abstract ideas concrete. The tornadoes show us that he not just angry, but irate.…
I know that, it's just that one scene that confused me quite a bit, with her not reacting at all with the sudden, violent wind surrounding them, because in episode 4 the royal guards are blinded by the light Kang Cheol projects out of his chest, so his powers do affect mortals who don't have the "eye" to see spirits and the supernatural. It was confusing, but its comedic purpose did its job.
We've said it will say it again...it's totally fine to drop it...you don't have to force yourself to watch, you…
I loved this drama but it lacks on so many things, so I sort of have a love-hate relationship with it? I love the ost (albeit overused on more than one scene), dialogues, costumes and cinematography, but I also wished the director didn't focus solely on its looks, but on the writing and plot as well. I get what you mean by the "feeling of missing something", because it really is just a beautiful stage, a beautiful façade, but plot and worldbuilding wise there isn't much or nothing at all. It's a character-driven story (but the director has his favourite characters he focuses on). So if you care more about writing, worldbuilding and just things making sense (aka no plot holes and right priorities in storytelling) rather than character dynamics and bromance, perhaps this isn’t the right drama for you.
There's something I don't quite understand... or perhaps it was too late at night for me to catch on. Do you know in ep 3, during the stand off between Yun Gap's mother and Gang Cheol? Does she not see his magic/powers? Because she was totally unaffected by the tiny tornadoes on his hands and the strong wind surrounding them and I am still so confused about that scene. Like, no reaction at all
That cast was too good to be true If only they had thought about the copyright before starting filming... it's such a shame it'll never see the light of day
Considering the time period Republic dramas are set in, I think it could be challenging dealing with censorship This is not the place to start a political and social discussion about that era in Chinese history, but I doubt they'd be allowed to show what actually happened in those years, so writers and directors need to be extra careful with their (words) works I mean, censorship has gotten more and more ridiculous in the past few years and that's a pretty touchy subject to film to begin with, so the long wait for the green light kind of makes sense I mean, it's been a loong wait, but as long as they don't shelve it or erase its existence like many other dramas...

There's always a chance they won't get released for one reason or the other
I love how we always end up on the same pages lol
I'm really curious about this one
You really have to learn patience with cdramas
It's just so absurd
Did it at least get the license to air already? They wrapped filming a while ago
