probably tired of Yamapi not acting in the drama, lmao
Definitely check out Flowers for Algernon, I would say it's his best acting performance. I had no idea Buzzer Beat had a special? Where can I look for that?
It would change a lot of people's minds if he started to take less roles that force him to be stoic and cold in his expressions and body language so we get to see if he's a versatile actor but he's fully focused with his Hollywood career now so oh well.

I've seen a lot of his works and am fully aware of the hate he gets, most particularly regarding his acting. IMO, he's barely acting in this drama as opposed to other works he's in like Flowers for Algernon, Buzzer Beat, Code Blue etc. Only in the final episode does he show off his acting chops when he cries in the last episode and that's about it. But it is just my opinion so I digress.
I hope the Yoneyama (& Kishimoto?) vs Sakuragi plot starts late in the drama, the first half doesn't need that…
I think you're right, I don't think there's more to him wanting to get rid of Sakuragi at first than just him trying to protect Kaede. I too at first thought it was Seto who burned down Sakuragi's tent lol or at least his minions, didn't think Kaede would be the one who actually did it. Still though, the things he was saying at the end of ep1 showed he had a dark side to him, almost as if he had a vendetta against Sakuragi lol.
I hope there's no conflict between Seto & Sakuragi from now on, it really doesn't feel like there's any animosity anymore especially after Sakuragi helped out his debt problem because if so, it makes me wonder how they'll balance out the studying, the students' lives outside of school & Yoneyama's revenge plot against Sakuragi but I doubt it, I think it's water under the bridge now.
Fun fact: the writer hasn't told the cast or said anything in the script on how the ending of this drama will end. It'll come as a surprise for them for when they're getting near to shooting the final episode.
The show keeps getting better and better, just when I think I have a favorite episode, the latest one becomes…
I hope the Yoneyama (& Kishimoto?) vs Sakuragi plot starts late in the drama, the first half doesn't need that plot just yet, it should be more on recruiting the students + studying and only then the latter half can focus on said plot. Until then, I'm really enjoying the current plot while dropping little hints of the students' lives outside of school.
I wonder why did they give Seto such an ominous, mysterious, dark side to him at the end of Episode 1 because as soon as Sakuragi teaches two of his minions a lesson after Episode 1, he doesn't seem to be a bad person at all. In fact he's really likable lol, it feels like he immediately completely changed without any reason. Why did he have such hatred for Sakuragi in the first place? He wanted to get rid of Sakuragi so badly.
The show keeps getting better and better, just when I think I have a favorite episode, the latest one becomes my favorite. Really liked EP5, love the studying tips and the games they come up with inside and outside of class. Suzuka Ouji is doing a good job with his character, he really gets people riled up with that attitude of his lol. I enjoy seeing how proud Seto is of his studying and how enthusiastic he gets when he gets a correct answer or he's coming up with a game lol, can't wait for his character development, really hope he gets into Todai.
This episode made me smile many times, it's probably the most uplifting and inspiring episode I've seen in a while watching a show. You can't help but root for Kenta in this episode, even when his teachers & Kosugi doubt him and especially Fujii stooping to the lowest to demotivate him, seeing the students or his friends rather (for coming up with games for him and supporting him) and Sakuragi & Mizuno rooting for him, makes you want to cheer him on and it's so heartwarming to see him succeed.
Ayano says there's a surprise at the end of episode 9~
