Liked this second one more than the first one. More action. As a kaiju fan, the suits for the titans look great. CGI is amped up and far better than the first one though there are some scenes where it's meh but for the most part, for japanese film standards for CGI, the CGI here was great. The CGI for the Colossal Titan is superb, I think anime and manga fans would love how he looks and honestly better than the animation in the anime *shrug*. Great soundtracks, better than the ones in the first movie. As an AoT fan who watched the anime, I'd say the story here is okay but however, completely different from the anime/manga so I don't think diehard AoT fans will be that disappointed but I'm sure some will still do because anime fans exaggerate and like to go "hurr durr live actions suck so much!!!111" or "anime > live actions". Not saying this live action is better than the anime whatsoever, the anime is easily and infinitely better but what I'm trying to say is that it was watchable and it was good so just keep an open mind and just enjoy this different adaptation
Better movie than the first one, the ending was left out open, presumably for a possible sequel. If you're a kaiju fan, you'll have a blast. If you're an AoT fan, you might get turned off by the completely changed story (the manga writer himself wanted them to change the stories/characters even though the directors/writers here really wanted to follow the source material) but try and enjoy this for its changes. Not everything has to be exactly the same as your beloved anime/manga (where's the fun in that? everyone would still be petty and nitpick everything regardless), most adaptations change to keep the series/franchise fresh and new.
Also Satomi Ishihara as Hange Zoe here is perfect.
Episode 1 was more interesting than the last two. Hange Zoe learning about titans, Satomi Ishihara as Hange Zoe was great, dare I say perfect because I expected whoever they got to play Hange to be maybe a bit cringey but she really pulled it off. Episode 2 was okay, Sasha's backstory and Sasha is being Sasha. Third episode is really boring I didn't bother finishing it.
Best watch this if you want to see a great portrayal of Hange Zoe by Satomi
I loved this movie, soooo fricken much. I don't understand the massive amount of hate.
The diehard AoT fans or anime fans in general comparing the movie to their anime, that is why. They didn't or don't want to appreciate this adaptation as its own.
I skipped over this live action so many times, thinking "This finna be trash" or"They finna ruin my anime series…
Same! I appreciated the adaptation for what it is and it was better than expected. If you watched the anime or read the manga and you're so keen on comparing it to the movie, you'll never find any movie enjoyable in general. Doesn't necessarily have to be japanese live actions, if you're so keen on comparing it to the source material, you'll never enjoy them.
When Hikari's mom died, that was so shocking and so sad. Hiro gradually breaking down throughout the episode is even sadder. The way they built the romance and Hiro with Hikari, and as the story develops, they really make you think that at the end that they're actually gonna end up together because it seemed predictable and things seemed to be headed towards that way but it was surprising to see that turns out they never did and they both mutually understood each other and went on their separate ways and I found that to be rather realistic. I personally think Hikari as much as she says she loves and cares about Hideo, 80% of the time I see she or them, they're mostly talking about Hiro so I don't know what gives, lol.
Also Haruka is too pure and sweet for this world, I don't think Hiro liked and appreciated her as much as she likes him but still genuinely happy Haruka didn't get left alone and got to be with Hiro all the way till she became a flight attendance and followed Hiro on his way to the major leagues. I really had this feeling that Hiro was gonna leave Haruka and be with Hikari, glad that wasn't the outcome. Loved this drama, it was fantastic! ngl started to grow a liking/appreciation for baseball too.
they're not married. They were dating but broke up after he met his Makino
They've been dating since forever and been denying breakup rumors all the time >.< i don't get why they don't get married already, is it because of the idol industry and the circumstances when it comes to becoming an idol or something
Lol, it's so ironic how your bio says "I think everybody in this world should be loved!" and here you are calling someone you don't know the ugliest japanese actor. Your favorite Jaegum wouldn't like you, yikes.
