I love Consort Park but the writing is weird with her. She is too perfect and the series fails to give her a real place (even if she has episodes where she shines), things to do or access to her thoughts.
She is pregnant, it is confirmed but the script refuses to show us how she feels and what it means to live through this pregnancy.
I have the impression that in some aspects, the drama doesn't go to the bottom of things and only scratches the surface.

Personally, what bothers me the most is when FL, in episode 9 or 10, tells her "uncle" he had her father killed to save officials. She puts Pak Gar Won on the same level with the previous king who let her family be executed for the murder of the queen in order to protect his son. But she forgets her family had been arrested long before because of Councilor Park's thirst for power and that, even if the queen hadn't died, her father being accused of treason, he would have died anyway.
To believe they are really trying to temper Park Gae Won when he is the greatest tyrant in this story.

Professor Ling and Professor Kang are together but FL's mother says Professor Kang is unmarried and she even has a teacher who woos her by bringing flowers regularly. Is she in an unconventional relationship with Professor Ling?
FL's girl friend calls Professor Ling "Dad", so she is Professor Ling's daughter but not Kang's?

Also, in episode 5, people say Professor Ling is FL's father's stepfather, which would make him her grandfather, but she calls him "Uncle". What about?

I see what you mean and I agree this "revelation" is ambiguous and not up to what one might expect.
However, I think it is clear that even if the ML knew it before this scene, he only knew it recently because he showed an unfeigned jealousy towards the brother of the FL, which he wouldn't have had if he knew she was the princess.

Anyway, I noticed the hero, when it suits the script, isn't as smart and cunning as we were teased at first.
He could have got rid of his younger brother and his stepmother long ago. He could have protected his older brother from the shenanigans of their family. He could also have suspected the villain would reveal his secret identity after all his meetings with his younger brother. Just as he should have realized his mother was murdered earlier (his stepmother is literally shaking with guilt at the birthday ceremony). Plenty of examples where ML is suitably made less cunning, calculating, smart and ruthless, to drag out the plot.

ML learned about FL's identity the same episode he confessed to her he know. We see his hand when FL talks with her family's messenger, indicating he witnessed the scene. So he learned at this moment and made his peace with it in the short time before the evening.

I wonder: Who is Uncle De to Prince Wang? I thought he was his maternal uncle but all the queen's brothers are in power now so maybe he is her former intendant?

1) About the leads first meeting.
The first time the ML mentions Princess Xiyun in Episode 2, we see a flashback of when they were kids (around 7 years old) playing together. But then, in episode 14, ML says he met the princess on the night of a feast when he was a teenager and never saw her again after that. Did he forget their games together when they were younger, unlike Huang Chuo who remembers, or was there a mistranslation and he just meant that the last time he saw her was as a teen?

2) About their first meeting as Bai-Hei Fengxi.
It is said that Bai Fengxi and Hei Fengxi have been making a name for themselves in the martial world for about 10 years when the story begins. Are we assuming they have known each other for the same period of time or did they know each other less years ago before the story begins? If it's the first option, how could he not recognize her?

3) About ML's mother death and his arrival in the martial world.
In episode 6, the court lady of ML recounts his past. She says that after the death of his mother, he had to survive 3 years before using an illness as an excuse to run away from his stepmother. We know he left the palace at the age of 15 and that it took only 8 years to build his organization and make it a powerful one. So he's 23 when the story begins, but he wasn't 12 when his mother died, right?
