Title The Long Ballad Spoiler
I watched episodes 22 and 25 last night. And I would like to say something to those who were so angried after the FL that they questioned the writing of the drama.

The FL didn't do anything wrong here. Even though she became Ashile Sun's military advisor, she is still a slave in the eyes of others who must serve him until she's finished her contract. She also had recently realized a truth: Ashile Sun is in the enemy camp and despite his promise not to harm Tang, he is forced to obey orders and sends his men to fight Tang in episode 20/21. She is in enemy territory, with soldiers fighting to destroy her country. And yet, all the plans she makes to protect her country are planned in such a way that they don't involve the division of the Eagle and A'Sun. She disguises herself as a member of the wolf's division, she protects A'Sun in front of the great Khan, she is ready to be killed by Sher rather than confess that she works for A'Sun and so on. But she has the right to fight to protect her country, her family, her friends. She has the right to be ready to die for it.

General Luo Yi is a friend of her father, whom she has known since childhood and who treats her like a niece. He is a loyal, courageous and respectable man. How do she looks herself in the face if she lets him be tortured horribly and brutally killed? She has the right to choose to risk her life to help him. It does not involve anyone but herself. It's her decision and she had a good plan with Sher's mother.
But Sher goes to understand the connection between Sun and Changge by overhearing a discussion of the Eagle's division. Then, because of his rivalry with Sun, will use Changge to enrage him at the feast.
Ashile Sun, out of love for her and because of the rivalry between him and Sher, will confront the latter savagely and they will seriously injure themselves, preventing them from participating in the hunt the next day, thwarting Changge's plans.
Sher will also become even more suspicious after this, which immediately makes him realize what is going on with the general's escape.
After that, it is Sun who decides to involve the division of the Eagle to save a traitor and reveal to all that she belongs to him.

I'm not saying Sun is at fault. I'm just saying that Changge didn't do anything wrong. She planned things for herself, according to her beliefs, not involving her friends in the Eagle Division. But Sun chose to get involved on his own and involve his men. The rivalry between him and Sher existed before Changge, the scheming of Sher's right-hand man to get rid of the Eagle's division existed as well before her. And finally, Sun's mother was involved because she was in the service of Princess Yincheng and there is nothing that could have been done to prevent that, given the plan established. Even the reason why Sun's mother dies has nothing to do with Changge but everything with the rivalry between the 2 brothers. Changge plan only has had a snowball effect, exploding all the dormant conflicts.

In conclusion, Changge has nothing to be ashamed of. The only thing she needs to understand in the future is that she is no longer alone, there are people who care about her. And, just as she cannot abandon the General at the risk of her life, those close to her (Mimi, A’Sun) are also willing to risk their lives to protect her. She must also learn to cherish her body, her life. She tends to go on suicide missions because she has no purpose anymore and doesn't respect herself and it has to change.
As for Ashile Sun, he hasn't done anything wrong too, he has every right to want to protect the woman he loves. He was stuck in a shit situation and he did what he could. The only problem being that he implicated his men in a betrayal. I think Sun, for his part, must learn to understand Changge's point of view. He often understands her, but he lacks the perspective of the Tang people to understand what Changge is desperate to protect.

Thanks for writing this! I completely agree.

It is a story of learning and revenge above all. The FL is still young, she has not yet reached the maturity and experience of the ML. Plus, it's not a harem drama so such a quick romance would seem unrealistic and uninteresting.
Each episode we have interactions between the leads that build and forge their relationship. They help each other, become friends, confide in each other, argue, discover each other's secrets and so on. But the FL still has a long way to go before reaching the same point as the ML. He knew she was a woman fairly quickly and then investigated and found out her identity. It is normal that he may have developed feelings sooner. While the FL believed for 16 episodes that their interactions were that of 2 men and thought for 15 episodes that he was just an unscrupulous merchant. It is normal that it takes her more time to unravel her feelings and to form a real opinion about ML. Even if we see from the start that she is attracted to him and cares about him.

If the leads had little interaction and their scenes did not build their romance or were toxic, then we could have complained about the lack of romance. But here, every scene serves their romance. It establishes stone by stone their mutual understanding, their admiration, respect, sacrifice, disagreement and so on.

Personally, I find each scene extremely beautiful and strong. Romance isn't all about kissing all the time. It is living things in common, arguing, understanding, protecting and so on.

4- Did anyone notice when alir was getting killed by sheer then khutan was nowhere to be find when she was the…
It is obvious that she is manipulative. As Changge asks: "why are you telling me all this while we just met?". It is obvious that she understood that Changge was a kind girl, touched by sad stories and that's how she gained her trust. The plan to use her maid was extremely dangerous and, indeed, she was nowhere the entire scene where her maid was held captive by her son and then killed.

Interestingly, the man alongside the Young Khan (whom he calls Uncle, I believe) calls Kuthan "Princess". Which shows that he is not loyal to Ashile Tribe but to the Sui Dynasty where the princess is from. Therefore, it is obvious that even though the mother cannot see her son, this man by Young Khan's side serves her and their interests.

I don't know how far you watced, but there is a scene in episode 25 or 26 that made me realize something. Since her appearance, I suspect Mimi Guli of being a spy even though she's nice and a victim. And in episode 25 or 26, she has a reaction to the news that Changge may be hurt that looks like guilt. I think she must have told Kuthan that Changge was a girl and that Sun knew it. After all Mimi Guli was a slave to Sher before. I can see her going to see Kuthan to beg her to save Changge. It is impossible that Kuthan, locked in her tent all day, could have understood Changge's identity on her own. Everything has been done to push Ashile Sun and his division to blame for eliminating this threat to Kuthan's son. But that's just my opinion.

As for the concubine of the great Khan, it is said that it was Kuthan who had given her to her husband. So it is obvious that they have a secret agenda.

Why do I have the feeling this will end in tragedy? Not watching it yet but saw the trailer and have that feeling.…
In view of the unfolding of the drama and the images of the ending (at the end of each episode), I think / hope that it will be a happy ending. This drama, despite the harshness it shows, still seems less gloomy than other historical dramas. And we feel that it is a story of learning. What is the use of learning if the end is tragic? That's why I believe in a happy ending.

I'm already glad the writers didn't kill the governor's daughter. Hopefully this will be the case for this girl too. We have seen boys die, let the girls live.

I don't think his origin is particularly special. The Khan values strong men. If little A'Sun was brave and determined, Khan could tell himself that he would make a good soldier out of him.

I'm really happy to see that it's not just Changge who will have to grow up when they separate. A'Sun will also have to face the consequences of his actions (in the person of the Governor's daughter). I find it interesting to finally get him to meet people from Tang and understand a little more the perspective of FL.

Okay, so the only purpose of life for Hao Du is just constantly hunting Changge? X"DDDDDDDDDDDD
Hao Du who chases Changge to finally spare her because she has work to do for the country is as much a joke as Changge and Ashile Sun who bump into each other EVERY city they go. It's so funny :D
I can already imagine the future conversatio between Hao De and Changge.
Changge: Sorry, our country is in danger, I must protect it. Kill me later.
Hao De: Again? Okay, bye!

The last few episodes are clearly not to show Changge in her best light. But you also have to understand that,…
Exactly! As far as I know, everyone understands that Leyan is inexperienced. But when it comes to Changge, as she has more aptitude and is more self-confident, one cannot understand that the situation is similar.
Ashile Sun is a young man of at least 18/20, who has been fighting battles for many years and leads an entire division.
Changge is a young princess of about fifteen, with no experience of the world and of war, political intrigue and so on.
It is normal for her to make mistakes, especially given her suicidal and impulsive side. Of course, she will have to correct some flaws, but if she was perfect all along it would be a smooth story.

Rant about episode 24At first I liked the fact that Changge followed her own goal instead of following ML just…
I see a lot of people annoyed by Changge's attitude. And I was also a bit annoyed, but I have to make myself her lawyer.

Changge is in unfamiliar and enemy territory. She does not know this country, does not know the customs, does not have much support outside of A'Sun (but he is the general of this country and is loyal to it). Unlike Shouzhou where she had support, allies, the means to defend herself and develop strategies, there she has nothing. The greatest strategist in the world, if he finds himself in uncharted territory, without power, miles from home, will not be able to achieve much either.

I also recall that there are barely 8 episodes, she was trying to commit suicide rather than living as a slave of the Ashile tribe. Changge has no instinct for survival. She is only driven by her convictions (protecting her people at all costs) and her revenge (even if for the moment she seems to have put that aside). Of course she's too impulsive and doesn't think about the consequences. She believed that she could manage on her own with Sher's mother, thinking that they were the only ones who cared about the people of Tang.

It will serve as a lesson to her and she will evolve further. But you also have to put yourself in her shoes. She never asked Ashile Sun to save her, she did everything to avoid involving him but it is he who chooses to save her, to challenge Sher several times (including in front of the Khan) for her. Of course, that's honorable and I feel sick to my heart for him. But she never asked him to and shouldn't be criticized because a man in love risks everything, including his men, for her.

However, I really do hope, like you, that the trope "ML's continuing to protect her" will finally stop. It's time to let her emancipate herself and become strong, mature and intelligent enough to survive on her own, or even save the ML.

Okay , Changge is pissing me off these last two episodes. We're halfway through the series. Shouldn't she stop…
The last few episodes are clearly not to show Changge in her best light.
But you also have to understand that, unlike A'Sun, she lacks military and political experience. She does not know the intrigues of court and women scheming. Faced with this woman sold by her country, mistreated by her various husbands, how can one not be moved? How not to believe that this woman, from the same country as Changge, does not want the same thing as her?
Ashile Sun remains of another country in the eyes of Changge and a man. Despite all the respect, consideration and feelings she begins to feel for him, they do not have the same goals and the same people at heart.
Obviously, she overestimated herself and rushed headlong into a wobbly plan. But let's not forget that from the start she has said that life is worse than death for her. She is someone who is not "afraid" of dying. Therefore, she acts without thinking about her safety (and neglecting the big picture because still too impulsive and inexperienced). Unlike Ashile Sun who acts because he cares too much about Changge's life and has a lot of political and military experience.
But I think these episodes are going to be the kick in the ass for Changge to mature and realize that her actions have consequences for others and that she needs to be more thoughtful.

Yes, so making the woman AS loves do that (AS knowing that she is a princess) is degrading. Thank you.
