Yes, absolutely. I've watched or try to watch almost every drama that airs, like I would give it a try even if it may not be good, so I am quite picky. Go Ahead was the first drama that I finished to the very end with no skipping or dropping eps. I even woke up at 6am, during covid time so there was no school or work, daily just to watch the drama when it aired during China time. That was how good this drama was for me. during the airing of this drama, it was no 1 in China, and it was crazy popular. over the years, I keep hearing and seeing that this drama is re-airing here and there. this drama has reaired over 20x already. I rarely see Korea made adaptions of cdrama, I think Scarlet Heart of the most recent I've heard of a remake, so Korea remaking GA (Go Ahead) should say something. FYI, GA reaired again in July.
So why did I enjoy this drama so much. This drama doesn't focus on romance, so if you are in it for romance that's not it. However, I do enjoy the main couple, they have a relationship that's very deep. Some don't like the couple bc they expected or wanted this to just be sibling relationship all the way. However, they all miss the clues as to why ml and fl were fated to be couples from the beginning. The director makes it kind of obvious with hints and clues as to why 2ml and ml have different realtionship with fl. 2ml was fatherless and motherless and lived under the SAME roof as fl, so technically he is considered her adoptive brother, and 2ml calls fl's dad "dad". While LX (ml) is a neighbouring "brother" bc he has his own dad, lives in different floor, and calls fl's dad "Li dad" -basically how very close/good relations would call uncle, but more intimate bc of the families situation. I thought that was the most obvious clue, but many over look that. There's also many many more clues such as how mentally developed in the opposite sex ml was that he would want to create boundaries between fl during highschool, while 2ml would treat fl as a sister so there's no boundaries. just like how i would get on my bio bro's bed cuz there's no dirty thoughts or what not invovled.
This drama is about different familiar relationships, friendships, romance, mental health etc. Both 2ml and ml have trauma from their past family, and so does the side characters hence why their adult hood defines it. This drama shows how fl heals both guys. I also really enjoyed the fathers' relationship, and overall it portrays a realistic view of losing connection from each other and how awkward it is. Not to mention the acting is very well done, the soundtrack is so good and when you listen carefully each soundtrack is catered to the situation or character in the drama. The symbolism is well done too! look at the Sun and weather during ml scenes and look at the gold fishes. It's been over 4 years, and I can still rmb all these details. It's a really good drama that you should give it a try if you have time. Judge for yourself.
