There’s actually a lot of other scenes before and coming up. I empathized with him just from a trailer last…
It's pretty much every drama with romance as main plot.
the ML's are usually supporting roles, under defined and not a minute of the drama is used to show us what's happening in his brain.
Dramas can be male or female centric. There are story-lines which caters to that kind of plot. In those having FL or ML perspective works.
Not in romance dramas though. It takes 2 to have romance and for these dramas to succeed, it needs to take time to show each of these two's journey. Otherwise you are left scratching your head looking at how half baked ML is in these dramas.
it's a pleasant drama but it suffers massively from the usual Cdrama crap of ML being under defined.
His whole backstory was told us in 3 mins scene....it's pretty crappy story telling and characterization. You can't even empathize with ML for what he went through because we did not take that journey with him.
And yeah, the usual crappy trope of the one girl in ML life being a massive pain the behind. Would it kill the writers if they have a drama where the ML has some positive female presence in his life? The FL has many men who are positive in her life in most Cdramas. In most Cdramas, there is no non-FL positive women in ML's life. It's bizarre how this same ML is present in almost every Cdrama.
In fact in these kind of dramas, I am surprised the ML is usually shown as main character. These ML's are at best supporting characters to the only main character in these dramas, which is the FL.
I understand where Wu fei's coming from too. What made me dislike her is the way her character handled it all…
It was confusing.
For some one who never wanted to see her ex, as soon as he came back into her life, she kept finding ways to have interactions with him.
My point was not about her feelings for her ex. It's about how she would keep away from him.
I can think of dozens of her interactions with her ex, which any normal woman would have easily avoided. An example is where she seeks him out to a gym and proceeds to wrestle him. For the life of me, I still cannot understand why any woman would ever do that with her ex she desperately avoided for years. hello....phones, emails, chats and video calls, she could any of them for professional interactions with her ex!!
the FL is either dumb or writers just wanted the FL and 2ML to keep having these interactions for 30 episodes.
How many do we see the 2ML grab the FL? yet, as if the FL has crap for a brain, the FL would keep seeking him out.
but i don't think they will tell the story about the curse at the ending of webtoon, maybe we will see
as long as the characters stay true to the webtoon, we are good.
The FL in the webtoon is incredibly sweet, easily likable and a very very strong woman. Problem is that typical Kdrama FL's are loudmouthed and abusive, i.e supposed "modern independent women". really hope they don't turn the sweet FL in the webtoon into a typical kdrama FL and stick to what the author wrote.
What the heck was this! Okay so I been watching all of Zi Huan's dramas. And I was about to not watching because…
The writers did a bad job of setting up the whole plot.
For 30+ episodes, FL and 2ML have been having their own brand of fun and games. The FL never once gave a a thought of how her interactions with 2ML are affecting the ML. In fact, she and her family would constantly thrust 2ML in ML's face.
Now, when FL thinks ML is meeting the 2FL, she gets all in their faces. That's just duplicity at that point & they were not doing anything remotely similar to what FL was doing with 2ML.
Great varied characters, great character development and most importantly interactions and relationships between characters are done very well.
the 2 leads carried the show and supporting cast was fantastic. The bad guy for a change was very smart and vicious.
Woo Jin character stole the show probably because of how he is written. they forged their friendship while beating each other in the ring. It was a great set up. Once they become friends, they never look back, have a moment of doubt or second guess each other. They just went all in.
Having just one partner or having a deep romantic bond with just one person is nothing wrong.... It's probably…
I want variety.
When a new Cdrama starts, for the most part, you already know how the ML will be because almost every Cdrama has same template for the ML.
a cheating ML, a cheating FL etc etc are acceptable as long as the story line demands it and drama is interesting.
The point I was making though was the ML should have some quality of a man, especially in drama with romance as central plot. I think most women underestimate what boys go through at puberty, through their teens and early adulthood. It is as shocking as what girls go through. The idea of a drama showing a grown straight man never having been interested in women is as believable as a grown healthy woman being shown as never having a period.
My limited point regarding that has been over-analyzed and extrapolated into things I have never said. but hey....as long as you are having fun ;)
I’m glad you surround yourself with pure mature males.
You are missing the point,
It is about dramas not showing ML interactions with other women than the FL.
Just look at this drama as example. How many men does FL have interactions with, the kind of interactions she has and the quality of her relationships with these men.
Now, just compare it with ML.
Even in dramas where ML may have had the very rare ex-gf, you never see these interactions.
in this one, the FL is practically drooling over a man. In fact she is shown having orgasms when being near the guy. Wonder if you would clasify her as pervert? I would say that is another interesting take on a Cdrama FL. Would have loved if a single Cdrama would portray a ML as they portrayed the FL in this one.
In this one the FL and her bestie have a pretty wild hobby. They were perverts and creeps but it was damn funny and another interesting take on FL's. Pretty sure if the ML had similar hobby with FL's little sister, it would have been hilarious and interesting as well...but we never see ML's doing something that crazy or fun.
Having just one partner or having a deep romantic bond with just one person is nothing wrong.... It's probably…
None of these dramas have the ML having a friendly drink, dinner and casual buddy type activities with his female friends. in fact, I don't remember ML having a drink, dinner and movie catch up with his female friends in any of these dramas. I could be wrong and you can post if it happened.
That's what I mean by a relationship. We are told the ML is friends with this girl but we are never shown the friendship and whatever we are shown, there are pretty hard lines drawn by ML. The ML is only friends with these women. The FL on other hand is besties with men in her life.
Then she would know her "brother" want's to do stuff with her.
For a change, this drama invests in all 3 main leads, gives them good background, ark and shows good amount of their struggles to cheer for them.

If if's ML and there is another women near him, then the whole tone of drama turns into as if he is doing something wrong.

I really hope they don't screw this up like they did the other webtoon last year.
She would find new ways to interact with him.
Anyway, it's just writers being lazy. the FL character is inconsistent and does not make sense.
For 30+ episodes, FL and 2ML have been having their own brand of fun and games.
The FL never once gave a a thought of how her interactions with 2ML are affecting the ML. In fact, she and her family would constantly thrust 2ML in ML's face.

no romance was a bonus.

If it indeed is the case, that's a refreshing take.
usually the Cdrama ML's all feel same and boring.

Love and peace to you too.
If a man or woman being attracted to opposite sex makes them perverts and creeps, then you are looking at most of the world as same.
There are literally dozens of Cdramas where women including the FL look at hot men and swoon. Not sure if you would call them creepy/perverts.
Don't confuse sexual attraction to sexualization.
