WanQing family, the Murong, killed or allowed the Lan family to be killed. Shen Cong (a.k.a. Lan Xing and also the fiance of WanQing prior to the Lam's massacre) was lucky that he was sent out as a slave instead being killed. However, the experience of watching all his family died and knowing who killed them and having no power was traumatic for him. Thus Shen Cong hate the Murong family including WanQing. He plotted his revenge until he met his ex-fiance. He fell in love. Gradually, he realized that she was the only exception of Murong family's corruption. As for WanQing, she wanted to be the Lord (head of the Murong's family) because of her mother wishes. Important Note: She was later kicked out of the Murong household by her Aunt Murong Yu, the Lord. If WanQing does become the Lord then she and Shen Cong will forever be enemies. However, in the end she realized that she does not want to protect the Murong anymore (as in being the head of Murong household) and she also love Shen Cong so she put claiming the title of Lord on hold. For her, in this way she is still an outsider thus she can investigate and report as many crimes and corruption to the court. Plus, she and Shen Cong can remain as lovers.

I watched this before and something is very wrong about these episodes. I remember there was scene where ErYe was having hallucination about YaTou. He was talking and dancing with his imaginary YaTou and I think For Ye/Dr. Mo/Ba Ye was commenting that there was nobody there. Where is that scene? Also I remembered Lieutenant Zhang wearing his uniform died in one of the later episode. I think he protecting For Ye. Where is that? Although I love the Lieutenant, this scene was suppose to happen. They definitely cut out Chen Pi's fight against the Japanese lady because it makes no sense. I am very disappointed in this. These cuts and deleted scenes make everything less dramatic and confusing. Why make it so?!
