Sure you should give Jdramas a chance, jdama was my gateway to asian drama land, I have seen nearly all the good ones in last 6 years and always waiting to find another good one but still I think some of the arguments here are actually accurate,
- the cinematography is not that good
- the idoles (mediocre in face and their singing acting skill most of the time) are poisoning japanese dramas and movies
- (the most anoying issue) overtrying to act cute and childish must of the time from girls and woman (who try to sell themselves to the society or the system by looking stupid and cute rather than being independent and have some opinion from themselves)
- the stories always stay on surface; like if you see the sextual harrasment it never goes to the roots and point finger to society if there's a lack of rules or unfair law drama shows the struggle of the protagonist but never point finger on the corrupted system…
living in Japan I understand that these come from the Japanese society which appreciates closing eyes on its dark sides and pretending otherwise…then, I still will look for a good jdrama but after years I give a better place to C and Kdrama. and definitley there are examples of good directed dramas or a great feminist storyline but we are thalking here about the whole picture. in my opinion Japanese intertainment is falling down in recent years, it's not just a outsider opinion it's a topic between Japanese too.
I think I have rewatched this to the point I lose count.
I was happy to see you here, I watched first two episodes the epmrore is so unattractive… should I watch it? but it should have something that make people rewatch it ha?
i am on ep 28. so my thoughts about this may change because of the character development later. but i think Dr…
I have a mix feeling about Dr. Zhao too (he is Wang Kai but yet…) he said to have a girlfriend but was easily tempted by sex and pleasur and went for Xiao Xiao in New York second! and seriously he saw her bad behaviour in restaurant, she's laughing to someone like that?! and said nothing, but I am not sure if he recognized Fan Sheng from the restaurant in concert hall, I guess he just found it adorable that someone was moved by music.
GuanGuan and Dr. Zhao…hum people behave differently when facing diverse people, then he could show a completely new aspect of his charachter facing her.
about Qi Dian, I don't have problem with his age or look (don't find either attractive though) but there are some really serious issues about him: his envy toward the young and handsome men around Andi, his tendacy to keep Andi from a higher society cycle and even he himself is inteligent but his friends and people around him are SO mediocor, and it's a big problem, in a long run this and his low confidance to his manhood will make problem in their relationship. a human being is identify by his surroundings and he is not a person of equal rank for Andi, and I think as he knows this fact he is trying to push the relationship and rush it to be her first in everyway possible. I like him as a friend, a companion for a lively chat but as a lover or man nope!
Xiao Xiao is dropping on my list as the drama progress, her lack of understanding of what others go through and her selfishness is'nt funny anymore. it was cute in the begining, like a kid being so self centred but not anymore...
Guys, people, someone tell me something...Basically on episode 10 Rong JinXiu closed her eyes when Ying Dong was…
I don't know if you like sismance dramas but Ode to Joy is cute and funny, disguiser is more serious and a spy trailer but cool and happening in Shanghai at the same period of time (more or less) but non are romance center stories
I don't care that much about the ships (I'm here for the friendships) but god I hope Doctor Zhao stays with Xiao…
but I think XiaoXiao and Dr. Zhao are not good match, relationship is not just sex and they don't have enough to talk…but Dr. Zhao was so "I know it all" in his short encounter with Guan Guan, I don't know if he's good match for a shy and quiet person like Guan Guan. it was great if Fan Jie had more happy moments, she's suffering all the time.
hooohooo 3 seasons it's a good news. I have not read the novel, did you? do you recommend reading the novel as I am waiting for the rest of drama to come?
waiting for subbs killing me, why I've started this before becoming fully subbed? I am really enjoying their interactions and how they learn from each other. happy to hear there's gonna be a second season, and Bao Yi Fan with that rob was like a Mongolian khagan ;) so sexy
I hate the hurrid way Qi Dian Behaved AnDi. he's rashed and demanding in front of a woman whom he sees have a…
me too, even AnDi isn't showing fire of love but still it's her first romantic encounter with a man and she's so confused I hope she could handle it, I am in episode 21 and he seems a bit more behaved but yet so pushing, he told her if I kiss you and your heart beat fast and trembeled, science says you are in love with me!!! seriousley? if confirming human feelings were that easy there were no poetry, literature and human culture and we were just living like street cats, simple. those 2-3 episodes made me angry.
