I began Personal Tailor oddly enough because I thought it was a different movie. MAN was I glad I did!! I found this movie to have a lot of entertainment value. I watched the scenes unfold while laughing and having a great time with this tongue in cheek presentation of self mocking high art.
Then little bits of the morals and lessons from the clients fantasies kind of start squirming around the edges of your brain. Corruption and incompetence, the grass is always greener, do you really know yourself?, what is greed ( the seven deadly sins even?) what are we doing as an entity, this human race? The fact that you are left having these thoughts after you basically laughed through the entire show is what truly made this one amazing movie for me.
The concept is not original, making peoples fantasies come true. What is original is the way they come true. They don't cheat anyone, and some people even get freebies (hahahaha) and are satisfied. It speaks to our individual humanity and our desires and what we would actually be willing to settle for. Psychological was a tag left off that should not have been because it is a star of that genre in my opinion.
I am sorry to say the OST left little impression on me, but that may actually be a good thing because as a movie I don't think that lends itself well to stand out OST, it would have just been a detraction.
I have not seen a movie this good and this sneaky (in the best way possible) in a really LONG time.
It also made me wonder about a lot of things in the geopolitical world. I have questions I want answers to from this movie.
If a movie can make all that happen in its short time to be in my life, I have to take the time and give back!!!
