Excited for this one, Moriyama is one of the best actors in japan plus you have staff from one hundred yen love, one of the most intense boxing movies.

Can't imagine younger Satomi handling roles as good and subtle as like that performed by Kasumin in Chuugakusei…
Young satomi is just klutzy-cute actress that's it and she didn't improve that much as she got older. Even ueto aya who is more idol than her surpassed her already.

Title Dance with Me Spoiler
Usually I am not good with musicals as it feels it break the immersion once they started singing but "Dance with Me" is different as musical is huge part of its whole narrative and not just randomly inserted songs out of nowhere. The female lead grew up hating musicals as she had bad experience with it, then one day a magician hypnotize her and the result is she will sing and dance once she hear any music like a star in a musical movie. In short it ruined her life, she messed up one company presentation and wrecked a restaurant during her date as she swings a chandelier like a crazy person. The fun begins once she started her quest of gaining her sanity back, then follows are random but fun events which seems to be Shinobu Yaguchi's trademark, the director of Waterboys, Swing girls, Wood job, Survival family and more, so if you are familiar with those works then you should know this film has heart and not just simple musical comedy. Miyoshi Ayaka owns this movie, you could feel the enthuasiams in her performance. A solid 9 out of 10 I feel this movie is for everyone even me who is not a fan of musicals.

On And Your Bird Can Sing May 7, 2020
I always commend actors who explores the most intricate human relationships in films, actors who always challenging themselves and not just playing around, which is a total opposite of their characters in this movie. Like these three leads where two of them give some of the best performance I've seen this year, Emoto Tasuku in kokoro no kizu and just recently Ishibashi Shizuka in tokyo love story, and of course there is Shota Sometani, the youngest veteran actor in Japan.

We follow this trio of young adults living their fleeting lives, the film is full of these random events where these characters are just slacking off, drinking till they passed out, living at the moment seems their motto, they just don't care what will happen next. They have this carefree attitude towards everything, their future, jobs doesn't matter or even relationship as they form the most uneventful love triangle ever. Everything here is just subtle, no obligatory conflict driven plot, all just appears organically. The type of storytelling that is not for everyone, and I wouldn't even say it's 100 percent for me. The movie just drops you into their world and asked you to hang out with them for a bit and I think they did a great job on that.

On Ishibashi Shizuka May 5, 2020
In a country where idol actors are such a trend from time to time we see actresses who have their own identity. Ironically it seems she will take the same route as her mom who also struggles against kawaiko idols during her time, but it's due to the talent why she got casted as Lady Kaede in Ran. It is just a shame that it needs Tokyo Love Story for me to notice Shizuka's potential where in fact she already gave great performances in small indie type of projects before, it is just that I find those movies dull or too arthouse for my taste. She has a knack for portraying the most complicated characters, her Rika is a total 360 from Mika in "Tokyo Night Sky Is Always the Densest Shade of Blue". It also seems she is destined to appear in international movies if she wants. To be able to speak in english is one thing, it's another thing to express yourself in that language. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=d_Oenvk4EYA

I want to get the opinion of people who watch and love the 1991 version, without spoiling the story, how is this different from the original? Do you love it or not? cause I really love episode 1 and I think it could be one of the best Japanese drama this year or even the best romance story for these past years.

On Arimura Kasumi Apr 29, 2020
It seems most people are dissing her acting and I am like that in the past and still not convinced with most of her acting, but she is really good in comedy and with the right director directing her, she ended up really effective. She's the same type of actress as Ishihara Satomi and Satomi is treated like she's the best japanese actress lol. Satomi Ishihara is the glorified Arimura Kasumi, damn yes I just said it. Lol

I was surprised Netflix even allowed the movie to be released in the west. And even more surprised they keep going…
Sion sono got huge cult following abroad so I'm not even surprised. There are people who don't know pikachu but know who he is.

So it is the classic case where an idol ruined the script of the drama. I was looking forward to it since it is adapted from a novel, I am not fan of manga-ish romance jdramas. I guess I'll skip this one.

I don't hate him but I just want to slap him in the face haha every time he's being nosy, 'being everywhere',…
Yeah without him there won't be a story. He is by far the biggest plot device I encountered in Jdramaland.
