This is such a fun drama. It's the perfect drama for me after watching bunch of indie movies. Koshiba fuka is much better in a lead role than supporting roles, she is carrying this show for me. I kinda wanna see her doing character driven serious type of roles. I think she is ready for that. Btw ost is 10/10.
He's becoming the king of unconventional non cliche plot and definitely my favorite young Japanese director. He and Ueda Shinichiro would become cultish type of director in the future similar to Miike, Sion Sono & Ishii Katsuhito.
Nice trailer you could safely say this movie has heart and not just a quick quirky comedy that is easy to watch. Who cares if Higashide is in it he's just a supporting role. He is a despicable human being in real life and deserves all the backslash, but atleast he can act, and for me that is what's important, and I don't care about actors personal life anyway. Same can be said with those renaissance masters but are really terrible human beings, their works are still being praised to this day. Let's learn how to separate art from a person, look at them as actors and not as celebrities. Well that's just my opinion anyway.
I think Minori is by far the most unique among them, even by indie actresses standard. She is in more flexible…
Yes she would also fit those live action mainstream roles. Same can be said with Ruka but the problem is her height. She could be same actress like Ito Sairi though which is not a bad thing but let's see if she is really that talented or that role in colorless just fits her perfectly.
BTW I think the list is due to be updated. New blood needs to be added, the U-23 age group seems to be disproportionally…
It would be a long list if I include all those actors who can act. I want this list to be as short as possible. So far it's only Sugisaki Hana who really impress me among U23 actors but I haven't seen much from those group.
Cute, short and lighthearted drama. It tackles this fascinating thing about this lockdown situation right now where we learn to appreciate all the little things around us even mistaking little crushes as love. From the same guy behind Coffee and Vanilla so the aesthetics would feel similar, it's just that the amount of cheese is just enough this time and not the same cheesiness that would put dominos pizza out of business.
Cold Case is the yardstick stick for US adaption drama. If it is at least half as good as Cold Case this wlll still be a good drama. Soundtrack should be goood. They should hire that dude from mozu or if possible get hiroyuki sawano.
I knew the culprit cause it's Anna Yamada. Main lead actress in such a small support role? Come on you may have trolled me but I'm not stupid. That's a give away from the start.
3 episodes in and all I can say is it's more style over substance than Mozu which should not be a bad thing since it's one aspect I like about that action drama, but here it's a bit more over the top like that explosion in episode one, that scene is straight out of a marvel movie. The good thing is the drama became more grounded as the story goes. Acting is great too just like what you would expect in a WOWOW drama. They got the right actors to play the roles. I expect this to be an appetizer drama for the movie which I would not enjoy without the main course, but as a fan of action thrillers this looks like a solid drama for me. I highly recommend it.
Imou Haruka, Hagiwara Minori & Ishikawa Ruka, 3 actresses who got unique vibe different from a typical Japanese Actress. All of them can act which is evident in their indie projects. Now let's see who among them will exceed in mainstream.
sorry but Satomi acting wise is leagues above Kasumi, imo lol.
In my years of watching jdramas ive never been impressived with her. From H2 to unnatural shes always been the same to me. Many actress like her in Jdrama, Gakky, Satomi, Arimura Kasumi, Nagasawa Masami, Tsubasa Honda or even semi retired like emi takei these actresses are in the same mold. But its ok we all have our own opinion lets just agree to disagree.
It didn't start strong, and it's only episode 5 onwards where the drama shows its brilliance. I was already set to give it a 9 but then episodes 11 and 12 happen, freaking masterpiece, all of a sudden everything connects. That saying "All roads lead to rome" really sums up the whole drama.
People might compare this with Mahoro Ekimae Bangaichi which is also a masterpiece for me, both have the same vibe but for me Kotaki Kyodai has better characterization and better written overall.
So I read this one comment where he mentioned daiei drama, which is a style during 80s Japanese dramas. I haven't seen any jdramas from the 80s so that comment is an eye opener to me. That way he describes it is like a telenovela plus the weirness of a manga type jdramas nowadays. That 80s style is apparently the vibe this drama was aiming for so having said that the over the top characters and the cheesy plotline are justified because they serve their purpose. I still don't know if I want that style back cause it's more over the top than your normal jdramas but at the same time can be entertaining and good source of memes. lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPJ-FNoUKu0
