I think we should be talking about how the characters are written, not take the characters as if they were real life people. We don't really get to understand any of the characters in an in-depth manner. The dialogues are too few and too short. Male lead suddenly miraculously gets recovered his aspergers (as if his lack of social skills had been merely inconsiderate behavior). Rookie writer, I hope he or she doesn't get a second chance bc of the too obvious immaturity of the whole thing. I just wish people would analyze the drama writing and directing not characters as they are given. I know nobody agrees. To me this just represents a drama with bigger flaws in writing. Should have been developed with more time and with the help of more mature peer reviewers.

I just don't why yall are hating on our sml. He is a good person and so hot :(
the writing of his character is just as lacking in depth as are all the characters. Male leads sudden recovery from his aspergers is ridiculous.

the mere presence of the second male lead is repulsive story could be a 9/10 without his ass in it
It's a poorly written CHARACTER. Alex. Not a real person. Writer is dumbass, not the actor.

they wasted jae young's acting ability for such a dumbass and infuriating character...
indeed. after the great role in Reflection of You he should have been given a main lead role. LIC is immature as if it was written by a 14 year old.

Wahh why the melodrama??? I am interested cause its rated high but I don't like melodrama
it's not a melodrama, actually. I guess people use too broad genre categories. It's not easy to say what genre this is, but more like a mix of workplace drama, romance and slice of life.

Loads of charisma. He stood out in Record of Youth, which was somewhat mediocre otherwise. Great in 20th Century Girl.

Let us feel goddamn
Getting the feels (laughter, tears) from a drama is good. It's very good. It's a blessing. When people say they get depression from sad endings, it's worrisome. Many people say they were harmed. Is that a joke or just a way of speaking? I don't think so. In any case, producers and writer are getting so much s*** thrown at them for the ending. Are we just going to get happy endings in the future? That would really be a nightmare & a massive mistake. What I see is a lot of people who are afraid of breaking like glass from sadness or sad endings. That can't be. It's not how we should think. I encourage you to really put some thought to what I'm trying to say here.

Title Train
Going to drop this at ep 4. The plotholes and illogicalities are getting too much for me. I had the same problem with Sisyphus, W and the King the Eternal Monarch. But I started watching hoping this would be something like Circle, or Search, which are both excellent. Whodunnit genre is too old and not me even with 2 worlds involved.

I find that people somehow believe they are made of glass. I don't believe that's good for them. A movie or drama cannot cause trauma, depression, or heartbreak. Only real life problems and challenges can. If you think you're made of glass and not able to bear sadness, how will you cope with real life.

Rejecting any possibility of watching cdramas while watching a clear copy of Chinese fantasy dramas...
Plenty to watch, plenty to read. I watch Chinese movies from classics to contemporary. You can't mandate people should watch what you consider worthy.

I warmly recommend this drama for all those who love well written witty dialogue and interesting down-to-earth characters. This is unlike any other k-drama, it's fresh and quirky in a good way. The writers did a really great job, all actors are (maybe) in the best roles of their life. Especially the 3 female leads are outstanding. The side characters are all delicious. Son Seok Koo has little screentime but is particularly delightful. The last episode foregrounds the meta aspect a little too much for my liking (lowered my grading from 9 to 8.5.) And warning for those not fond of k-pop: the shampoo song (ost main theme) is absolutely unbearable.

The worst thing you can do to yourself is watching this movie when you did know what the ending is
the worst thing you can do to yourself is to imagine you'll be "broken" by a sad ending because believe me you don't get better by believing you're made of glass. This discussion is crazy and harmful. People will experience difficulties in RL and be must focus on those. Imagining that getting sad from a drama is somehow harmful is just not sane.

sometimes a happy ending isn’t necessary please grow up
very true. whatever is going on with the talk about being "destroyed" by a drama, it's inexcusable. People suffer in the real world.

People you just can't get depression from a sad ending. It is a work of fiction. Have to be able to make that distinction between fiction and reality. If you get "damaged" by fiction, you need to be whisked off into a war zone asap, or observe domestic violence, or interview victims of human trafficking. If there's a cloud somewhere where people live without any real world problems, I still wouldn't want to be there. A movie and a drama that gives you the feels, laugh or cry, is a blessing.

Finished the drama a couple of weeks ago. Difficult to say anything else than that this is without any doubt one of the best dramas ever made. Maybe even the best. I'm rarely at a loss for words, but it's such a strong experience. The last ten episodes are so intense it felt like a ton weighing on my chest. But all that happened is completely in line with history (that I studied later). Also universally, power and politics, private lives and loyalties, cannot always be matched. What was unexpected (and wonderful) was how Mu Hyul turned out to be such a key character. All I can say, this drama has everything that I could have hoped for and more, it's stunning. Everything, the music, cinematography, acting, pacing, directing and of course and especially, the writing. I discovered that these writers have written another huge fave of mine, Arthdal Chronicles, which sadly didn't get the full run of 50 episodes that it was meant to have. But I'm waiting to recover a little and then I'll be watching Tree With Deep Roots.

Zero interest in c-dramas (costumes...who cares?). To recommend something for us AoS fans suffering from withdrawals, I would recommend Six Flying Dragons. It's for me perhaps the best k-drama ever made.

Enjoyed this a lot. Classic vibes (things like the train station scene), well paced, fantastic acting. More like a drama special than a movie, but really sweet.
