BoA has got much much worse criticism for her judgments and behavior during Street Man Fighter. So it was not a good decision to cast her. This is small beans compared to the BoA vs. Trix incident.

I think they're doing well considering the director obviously takes the easy way out and wants them to act that way. They just are too talented to completely let it go to ruin. But I quite agree on wanting to drop.

I wish the 2nd couple aren't just for comedic purposes, that would be a misuse of Yoon Park's talent. Already the comedy is kinda on the cringey side too often. I do understand that when the leads didn't really live their youth, they must go back and finally experience the full range of life and fun things to get better. That's a great theme, imo. But the director and writer tend to make things (and acting) too easy and superficial. Easy laughs backfire for me, personally, and I get bored. I just don't want any more high school flashback scenes although I do understand why they were important in the beginning.

My understanding is that the king is trying to protect the Grand Prince and see his safe ascendance to the throne.

The angstiness of the drama, it's really getting hard to watch. The stupidity of the FL is boundless. I can't believe she and Myung Ha put it on the shoulders of these CHILDREN to make such a huge decision that puts the whole country at risk. That could very easily lead the to Qing attacking the country and withholding the Joseon workforce in Qing. And when the whole idea behind her dressing as a man was to get money to help people get back from Qing. These kinds of marriages between the nations were commonplace and not something a princess could or should avoid. And what's the point of FL suddenly leading a secret service operation to send a spy to Qing when she has zero personal experience or stakes other than an overgrown sense of her importance in the politics. FL is reckless and emotion-driven and that could lead all around her to die.
