I don't think you really missed anything. Those episodes 3-6 were not as good as this is now.

I agree with you on all points. Except that I didn't find the last 2 episodes good, but let's hope the ending is good.

The Crowned Clown had a happy ending so I'm very trusting that this one has a happy ending too. Same writer.

Have you watched Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung? It's on the lighter side but very romantic. The factual side of it, aka how they documented Joseon history is really interesting.

I had to skip most of ep. 14. Maybe I've watched too many sageuks but I find the palace politicking immensely boring. The principal director has the most screentime actually, should have been marked as main character. I hoped the sweety Dol-Mart boss Lee Shin Young wouldn't have been a bad guy but maybe there's yet hope for character development. I'm pretty sure there's going to be a happy ending though and will def watch the last episodes in the hope of that. Many criticize the FL actress but I don't think she had much to work on. This writer really sucks at writing dialogue. My frustration with the drama is that the main characters don't communicate enough. That is to me never a good place from where to develop suspense. For me personally Shin Sae Kyeong is one of the best actresses, she's entirely different in Run On, Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung and Arthdal Chronicles. I'd recommend Rookie Historian as a way better romantic historical drama - I've watched it twice.

Very well written, not a boring moment, fantastic acting. I'm not surprised that Yoona won an award for this, but also Lee Jong Suk would have deserved one. FL character was particularly well written, I just love strong intelligent FLs. Unlike other commenters I didn't find the ending rushed, it was satisfactory. I don't like draggy endings where every side character has to get their time. The drama has a very fine cast of support characters, each having their spotlight moments, in that it was similar to Vincenzo. The suspense is really intense throughout the drama, if you have to avoid stress then better watch this drama some other time.

First, not particularly liking a drama is not hating. Saying people hate or calling them haters is babytalk. Second, if you don't understand people have differing opinions, that's exactly what you need to learn here.

Uff. Dropped. Boring typical Disney k-drama style. Unlikeable characters without any depth. Superficial plot. Mandatory fighting scenes every 10 mins. Nothing that makes me laugh or cry. Pls don't come yelling at me. If this is for you it's for you. This is a reviewing and discussion site, not a fansite.

Disney style k-dramas are this way. Definitely not for me. Plus there has to be a violent fight in every 5 minutes.
