Ms Akina's position is interesting. You feel bad for her but at the same time is it really that excusable? Exploitation is fundamental when it comes to being a host. She knew what she was signing up for.
It's like suing Guiness or any other alcohol company for giving you cirrhosisš«
Should the hosts have let her down more gently? Sure. But then again we already know how she treats hosts who show "weakness"š¤·āāļø
Subber is on vacation based on their website. Can't wait till Makoto finds out about him š
The FLās character is pretty generic ngl. In fact at first the story low key reminded me of Ikinari Kon. The MLās balance between Yakuza boss and āYakuza Bossā is interesting - specially since his relaxed mode is completely different. Loved the way how the FL couldnāt even recognize him after her drunk shenanigans š
******** Other dramas - Jdramas wise i think we are watching the same on going dramas: Learning to love Cinderella Closet Usotoki Rhetoric - this is from 2024 but I found it recently š
IDK if you are into JBLs but Iām also watching ā10 things I want to do before I turn 40ā - itās very slice of life but strangely relatable if you are in your 30s and have been long term single/ you have a terrible work-life balance.
Kdramas wise, just āBon Appetit your majestyā and āTempestā. āBeyond the Barā is interesting too (just wrapped up last week).
If you are into Cdramas, totally recommend āthe legend of the female generalā - itās over now but if you liked Mulan (animated Disney version), you will probably like this. Thereās also another drama called ātwelve lettersā - itās really good too and really short for a C-Drama since it only has 12 episodes (fair warning it has a very emotional journey!). NGL I feel like I maaaay have mentioned these 2 with you before but not too sure š
WBU? Did you come across anything interesting lately?š
other things aside loveeeed the way they had showed imaginary moments after they ate the food made by Ming's cooks…
The drama and crew would probably end up getting a lot of backlash if they didnāt give equal animation focus for the Mingās food (i.e. the usual racist rantš«£)
Love the creativity though! And the Ming Envoy directorās reactions are hilarious (the king too, but the directorās are even more funny since you know he wanted to insult every morsel)š
what if that ming cook is her ancestors or something and hes taken a liking to her cuz she remind him of someone…
The Ming chef is the definition of a gentleman/ great sportsmanship. He doesnāt compromise his core values in order win. Heād probably do the same for any cook. :)
This drama has no romance, not even a little. I tried to edit and delete "romance" but I don't know if…
The romance is subtle but it's there in an emotional sense. Their eyes speak volumes š
The drama is light hearted, seems to be aimed at the general audience (including children), and based in a more conservative time so PDA is not available. But from ep 4-5 or so onwards, it's often implied that their care for eachother goes beyond a sensei/ assistant relationship.
She even pretty much told him "i love you" in one of the episodes ("the moon beautiful" is a japanese poetic way of saying "I love you" indirectly).
At least from what I've seen till ep 7, that's the idea I got. If it helps, even the manga ends with their official confession to eachother after 50 chapters š
This is a cute drama. At first, I thought the lead male is a girl because he looks so pretty. The lead female…
I really love the fact that they kept Hikaru's character tan instead of portraying him "porcelain pale". His beauty somehow looks more exotic/ hypnotic this way. And the style shift is so effortless- nothing over the top. Simple and yet elegent- truly fluid.
Same goes with Haruka- she's sweet and so young but easily blends well with Hikaru and his style.
Finally got to watch it today (2023 feels almost like a lifetime now). Having read the comments before starting the episode, I was expecting the worstā¦but in hindsight it was for the best. It made my experience much better.
The first half did feel disconnected from IFYLITAās ending but once the twist was revealed, everything made sense. The special feels more like an interlude between the time Jom returned to the present and the final ending of the main series. A moment where we got to see Jom in his own way cope with his loss by wishing for a chance to be with his beloved Kung Yae- even if itās only for a day.
If you think about it, if they only had a short time to be together, rather than dwelling on their loss together, it feels like a very Jom thing to make the most of their short time by letting KY experience a part of his world. Given how in the series, one thing KY desperately craved for was to see the outside world, the screenwriterās decision to focus on āenjoying the presentā resonates even more.
So was it worth watching the special? To me, it was. I didnāt realize how much Iāve missed the couple and the theme song until I heard the first notes during the opening sceneā¤ļøš„²
Am I still hopelessly hoping for a āblessingā Season 2? Hell yes!šø
Actually with thai bls I often experience this that you either get the hype or not, once you have tried the series…
TBH Khemjira is the first Thai BL drama Iām watching in over a year since I got tired of the recycled pattern of most of the story lines/ lame jokes/ excessive product placements.
What drew me in was mostly the story (specially the dark magic/ Sharmanism/karmic past genres). I agree that the acting has scope for improvement but Iāve seen worse acting in Thai BLs so Iām fine with it for now. Iām more invested in the story behind the curse and the second couple more than the MC āshipā for now - I like them as individuals for the most part but given their situation itās hard to imagine a perfect HE if sharmans are forbidden from having a significant other.
Just hoping for the best outcome I guessš¤
Havenāt heard of Shine so thanks for the recommendation.
yeah, romance was not the main part, it is a law drama blah blah... BUT , the chemistry was there, very very strong,…
TBF more than the age gap, since the drama wanted to be portrayed as a serious drama with serious (in their professional life) leads, it would be out of character if Yun hit on KHM barely months after meeting her as her boss. If the episode covered several years, then the relationship would make more sense? Like with the second couple? Eventhough we barely knew their characters, the 2nd couple is supposed to be long term bestfriends.
With EAW it worked well because Attorney Woo was partnered with someone with a similar/ lower power dynamic than her. (Also who could resist their adorkableness?š¤š)
The drama pushes the secondary couple, who showed up later, and they still end up canon. Meanwhile, the main couple…
Their relationship transcends beyond a typical corporate relationship. It's the beginning of a new chapter-it's too early for them to try a relationship with eachother but in the longrun...may beš¤
Overall it was a very good drama. The cases were exciting and the actors did a good job.-The thing with the romance…
The ex asking for a roommate is quite fair TBH. A dog is a huge responsibility, specially one like Hash who is used to a very protective and pampered environment (it's implied that the ex worked from home so he couldn't have been left home alone for that long).
Seeing as Yun has terrible work hours, it's fair enough to demand a responsible adult to help him look after Hash the way he's used to even when Yun's not around.š
Honestly Yun should have seen the loophole she gave him and just hired a full time house maid/ nanny if he didn't want a roommate.š
Ohā¦is it usually available on Wednesdays? If yes, ideally you should be able to access it soon!š¤ (I have access to NFās SE Asian region - Wednesday weekly schedule and it was uploaded today)
Not many tomboy women would freak out when a guy is shirtless like she does repeatedly and she screams too much…
Sheās still naive and really young - harsh reality hasnāt hit her yet (her mum seems pretty nice too so family related trauma is probably unlikely too) š

Jokes aside, thatās what i felt too at first but you never know with dramas. She could be just generalizingš
Heās risking everything for her so I hope she doesnāt try to be a saint and ādisappearā in order to save himš«£
