Title When the Phone Rings Spoiler
Did you hear about the misintepretation contravery? :)It's not difficult to test it on your own if you don't believe…
Did you watch the latest episode? Absolutely loved their date!!! Sooo cute 🀭🀭🀭

Haha as a fellow short person - envyyyy! (Lol i know i know i don't even know how tall you are but still 🀣). Their height difference is really noticeable in Mao's apartment i guess? Or may be they used apple crates in some scenes (like they did in LR with KHY)

Azumi is a joke at this point...even the Ex is tired of her. But it does look like they might have some family drama with one of the elderly Andos right? Whoever who registered him for the blind date behind his back? And that preview??? πŸ™ˆ

PS: so sorry for the laaaate reply!

The last 2 episodes kinda sucked. The "mistranslation" was the icing on the already rotten cake.
In case you haven't heard, Netflix corrected the subtitles. So there's no need for sarcasm - it was a mistranslation 😊

No, no, I do not advise you to watch it at all. The atmosphere was good and excellent until episode 9. I started…
Shin Hye was amazing in Mr Queen :)

(No comment on this drama since I haven't watched Dear Hyeri).

What mistake?
Basically Netflix created a huge international scandal over a mistranslation that attracted a lot of unnecessary mass 1 star ratings across several drama platforms.

Netflix did eventually correct it recently silently, but the damage is done as it's been nearly a month since this issue happened.

The funny thing is that many native Koreans did clarify the error barely 24 hours after the issue came up but eh people would rather hate on a drama than admit they made a mistake.

The reason why @mrschloe suggests removing these kind of ratings is because majority of the 1 star raters in MDL and Google Reviews for instance are not from actual viewers but bot accounts and certain trend chasers who misread a situation without watching the show.

Person Jang Gyu Ri
Boycott !!
I believe you owe an apology to WTPR and Jang Gyu Ri seeing as Netflix corrected the subtitles since NF made the mistake.πŸ€”

How does it feel like to know that you wanted to blindly boycott the drama and an innocent actress when infact the show and the correct translation was actually helping your cause indirectly?

I haven't watched this yet. However from what i have heard i figured out some stuff. Lets face it guys, 90% of…
TBF if you consider the timeline and SE's deeply rooted personality and trauma, it's not a surprise why he left.

Can't expect a normal person, let alone a severely traumatized person to suddenly become rational only after barely 2 weeks of changing his entire dynamic. Specially considering how he lives and breathes for Heeju.

Finding out he was even 0.0001% indirectly the reason for all her suffering (i.e. the exact suffering he wanted to save her from) would cause anybody like him to behave irrationally.πŸ™ˆ

***

I do agree with you though that dramas need to move on from the "breakup over unnecessary reasons" thrope. Pretty much why I love King The Land since they broke this pattern every way possible.

I really hope at least the ratings will come back to raising again after now netflix the one mainly and only responsible…
Ngl I'm almost looking forward to the next wave of excuses 🀑

"But but...Argan sucked...but but ep 11 and 12 were meh....translation mess up wasn't the only reason the series got hate....but but 'misogyny'...but but stockholm syndrome....but but but but but...."
like any of these excuses would justify the "1" ratings eh?

Hate is indeed louder and the blind hardly ever admit their mistakes.

Sadly this will not be the last time but I do hope viewers and "# warriors" will be more rational in future and will not blindly follow random users' allegations without doing their own research🀞

On the bright side, Netflix at least silently admitted their mistake.

Not to mention they were married for 3 years and the guy doesn't even know the basic about her and we should believe…
Did you try checking the definition?

Stockholm syndrome means feelings of trust or affection felt in many cases of kidnapping or hostage-taking by a victim towards a captor..

Are you seriously suggesting that Heeju was Sa Eon's victim ever since she was a kid? Since she herself admitted that she liked him ever since he saved her from the dog attack as kids.

*She lost faith in him AFTER they got married (a.k.a AFTER she became his "hostage").*

She only dared to fantasize their normal life AFTER he started to show signs that he wasn't as callous as he pretended to be but still she only freely loved him AFTER he proved that he could change and dropped his façade.

So pray tell me how is stockholm syndrom involved here? πŸ€”

Ep 4 is out now on Daily M - did you got a chance to watch it?πŸ™Š

I love how straight forward Ando is. At least qe know that we won't suffer too long from the miscommunication fronth 🀞

As for Azuma, as much as I hate her guys, gotta say at least she is smart enough to know that the Ex was a loser. She didn't even bother to sugar coat about her feelings (considering the fact that she doesn't seem to know that Mal was his GF).

Can't wait till the next episode- hopefully it looks we miiiight get lucky πŸ™ˆ

Haha you are so right! I have a few "giant" friends myself and I actually make them sit since if we have to talk- neck crams are so realπŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

It isn't stockholm syndrome since Heeju didn't fall for him after their marriage. If anything, their marriage was what made her begin to dislike him
(ep 7 and 12 clearly point this out + there are subtle clues through out the drama as well).

Please learn more about the syndrome before throwing serious terms carelessly. Since this is a drama it doesn't matter but if you made such an accusation in real life without any basis, you'd probably be in trouble.

It's perfectly fine to dislike a drama but it's rather distasteful to twist the narrative.

Title Lovely Runner Spoiler
About the "future" spoilers - technically Sol didn't outright tell Sunjae and KTS what would happen. Same with…
I meant that she didn't write "lottery" or the winning year on the paper with the numbers. Telling to try the numbers alone isn't really breaking the rules since it's vague.

They can speak openly about the future as long as Sol doesn't say anything specific. That's why she couldn't talk about Eclipse or directly tell Sunjae he'll be an idol someday. But her telling "you should have been at the audition" is vague enough since the future already changed at that point. Also Sol never said that she was from 2023 right? Suggesting they should meet up in 15 years to open the capsule isn't a spoiler since it didn't happen in the original timeline.

Sol does need an outlet to prove that she is from the future so it kind of make sense why they needed to add a loophole? Or else she just comes across as bipolar since she has absolutely no way of saving the future if she's completely silenced? Idk if it makes sense πŸ˜…

Did you even watch episode 1 properly? The reason why he was so cocky on the call was because his mother in law confirmed that Heeju was with her. Any normal person wouldn't have any reason to doubt her word since it was such a simple question.

As a political figure, dealing with spam calls isn't an extraordinary thing for SE- specially seeing as he was working on an active hostage situation at the time.
***

"He didn't have any trauma"- seriously? C'mon he didn't have an identity from the day he was born and then was forced to live the life of another.
Being stripped out of his own identity is trauma.
Not having his own name is a trauma.
Watching his birth father kill his own grandson without any remorse is a trauma.
Forcing himself to be an emotionless bot is a trauma.
Growing up in a household filled with evil people is trauma.
Being forced to lie to Heeju (his saviour) for 20+ years is a trauma.
Forcing himself to be cruel and indifferent to Heeju because he couldn't let go of his childhood wish to ruin the Baeks is a trauma.

Material benefits isn't everything. He may be rich but he wasn't really living.

(I will respond to your other points shortly since I'm busy atm but honestly reading most of your response, it sounds like you haven't even bothered to watch the series properlyπŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…)

How many times does the FL goes back in time and changes everything? πŸ₯΄ I've lost the count. it really doesn't…
About the "future" spoilers - technically Sol didn't outright tell Sunjae and KTS what would happen. Same with the lotto numbers. She gave enough general clues for them unintentionally to figure it out on their own.

For instance with the lotto, it's mentioned that the brother has been playing the winning numbers for years much to his wife's frustration. Since Sol never mentioned the year the ticket numbers would work, it's fine
(she literally just handed him a scrap of paper with random digits- if it said "lottery" or "lottery 202X" on the paper, then the numbers would have disappeared)

I couldn't resist it- watched the first 2 eps of "Ikinari kon" !πŸ™ˆ
Thanks for the recommendation - it's so kawaiii!

The viewer was too harsh on the ML. He's abit pushy but he certainly isn't misogynistic. Rather the opposit if anything seeing how supportive he is with Mao. The Ex on the other hand can choke on his pudding. I would have thanked Azuma for stealing him away if it wasn't for the fact that she now has her claws aimed at Ando πŸ™„. I do love how Mao fights for herself despite everything- she isn't afraid to say no (just hope she can do this more with the ex and the viper SFL too soon).❀️

Ngl i half expected the ML to be like the type from Coffee & Vanilla (controlling in the guise of being protective) but Ando seems pretty chill so far. Idk why but he reminds me of Jinshi for some reason...is it just me? It doesn't help that the FL's name is Mao too πŸ™ˆ

PS: their height difference!!! Sooo cute but i low key feel bad for the camera crew trying to find ways to fit them in the same screen πŸ™Š

Was it just me or did Fujisawa seem very sadistic when he squeezed Nakarai's injured toe. Usually if you want…
Totally agree with you on your take of Fujisawa. He feels too manipulative and the fact that Nakarai seems to have cut ties with his "good" college mates speaks volumes. The fact that Fujisawa is considered as Nakarai's spokesman by his former friends sound interesting too.

Could Fujisawa secretly like Nakarai back (perhaps in a narcissistic/ arrogant fashion) but because he is in denial and doesn't want to tarnish his brand by being tagged as gay, he stoops to control Nakarai instead?

All your points were answered in ep 6-8 . And i don't think most vuewers condone Sa Eon's behaviour. There was empathy once they shared SE's own traumatic POV but neither the audience , HJ, nor SE himself ever excused his behaviour.

It was all about proving that he learned from his mistakes and how he eventually overcame his trauma with HJ's help.

I've watched "your eyes tell" and "Hoshi Furu Yoru Ni" before πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ
And yessss! Absolutely loved them. Hoshi Furu in particular felt so dreamy for some reason❀️
Haha yes! The first scene took me by surprise 🀣

With "Your eyes tell", i found out about it while following the ML (Yokohama san had this makjang-esque melo on Netflix at the time - something to do with a traditional confectionary store and a murder mystery from his past- can't recall the name now but he was really πŸ”₯ in it πŸ™ˆ).

Is "Always" good? Wasn't aware of it.

"House MD" and "Trauma "Code" are very similar. The only difference is that JJH isn't an addict/ flirt🀣. Extra bonus, Sunjae's appa is one of the antoganists so it's fun.

It's so true what you meant about how your mood might affect your viewing habits. I have many dramas on my watch list that have been kept on hold for months now. I really liked most of them and only have may be 1-3 episodes left? But the motivation is gone 🫠🫠🫠 Hopefully, I'll complete them soon 🀞

I actually wanted to watch "My life Again" since i loved the ML in Flowers of Evil but didn't get a chance (ok i forgot about it πŸ˜…). Probably should give it a chance too soon. Thanks for the reminder!!!

One Spring Night- i really loved Hae In it - i noticed you liked "Something in the rain" so you'll probably like this (the ending is way more satisfying in ONS). It's got the same "mature" vibe instead of the usual sugar coated romcom kdrama vibe? If it makes sense?πŸ™ˆ

Think the main problem with sensitive viewers is that they forget that different countries have their own "recipe"? So they simply get offended when certain drama thropes contradict with what they are used to πŸ™ˆ
I've noticed this issue comes up a lot with Jdramas specially. I mean i don't mind them at all but some act like it's the end of the world πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

Speaking of contraversial Jdramas, totally recommend "Monster". It's a J-movie that follows the same scenario via different POVs and how they impact eachother. It's very thought provoking right down to the end since the audience is given the option to interpret the ending the way they want.
