OMGGGGGG Qi Min π₯π₯π₯π₯ I think I fell for a villain π« he's so dark romance coded
I know! This character certainly is interesting! I don't know yet if he's a villain or an anti-hero. I'm trying NOT to read any spoilers on Qi Min so I can enjoy how the drama reveals more about his identity and relation to QianQian.
ep 12, Yan Zheng had a fandom! The most hilarious thing to the whole scene was how it ended with the last customer who was a guy admiring YZ's calligraphy. Genius!! π
Is the hairpin representing the real identity of chang yuβs background???
I didn't think much of it other than it's her mother's remaining most precious item. But now that you raised the question, I think you might be on the right track. Because ML is of an elite/high status background, so if the story is to remain intact with social status as expected in those ancient days, FL would need to be of similar social level. Her mother was probably from some important background.
Just binged all available 5 eps. It'll be my new daily go to drama for this month! So looking forward to new episodes. I like them two as a cp. FL is awesome and ML is very understanding as well. Even FL's little sister is incredibly cute. Not to mention, the director does an excellent job, especially with appropriate slow-mo at some scenes, and minute details like how FL corrected the position to be more lady-like the first time F/ML spoke. The scriptwriter also has some legit credit, giving high expectation to Pursuit of Jade.
So far so good. ZLH as Xie Zheng looking as good as ever, maybe even better than he did as Xie Wei π―π―And…
BETTER THAN Xie Wei!?!?!? Really?! Wow... I'm still on ep 1, but this comment is upping my expectation big time now. They do look good together though.
Very glad to see someone points this out. I'm just as surprised BIG TIME that China allows this show to air. It…
I totally understand your hobby. I enjoy interacting and reading relevant posts on MDL on dramas that I like to watch as well. Happy posting, reading, and watching! =)

We see it as speaking facts. They view it as something else. Why else censorships are still practiced heavily there?
It's true there's no real freedom anywhere nowadays. Everyone is restricted/bound by something, whether it be financial freedom, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of sexual orientation, etc. Some just have a wider range. Let's just try to see the positives and be happy . =)
I feel like Iβm in a parallel reality. A drama that criticises the ridiculousness of communism has actually…

It irks me when I come across postings sometimes from mainland Chinese who claimed profusely that they have freedom. But they don't know what real freedom is, and sometimes, explaining not having to live in fear over reading widely read books such as Pride and Prejudice and Catcher in The Rye, is true freedom. They had been so conditioned in their socialist/communist world that they don't know better. I'm sure I'll be getting heat for posting this from some people.
My family also got their property seized in a communist country. All the things shown in the drama, my family also had experienced. We also know people who go sent to "re-education."
This aside, I really enjoy watching this drama. The scriptwriter is able to draw out the positives in a bad situation; and it's such a healing to the soul when tough issues are resolved.
Just finished today's ep 12/13. I'm loving FL so much. She's so level headed. Her intelligence and astuteness is on par with Huang Rong from The Legend of the Condor Heroes in the Wuxia/Jianghu realm. She tricked her way out of trouble with the Li Sect's members/elders multiple times, weaving half truth-half false stories. As a matter of fact, I like our FL more than Huang Rong because she's not as prickly. She deserves all the admirers, and of course, ML'sπ₯°
They are not uncles related by blood. It's just a way to address an older man who's the same age/level as your parents, especially if the "uncle" is someone you've interacted with before or is in the same circle/community as you/your parents.
