I’m so impressed with Cheng Yi playing three distinctive roles so well. His ability to breath different layers and depth into YY,TZ, and XY solidify his superb acting skills.
In all of Jin Yong's wuxia works, Fox Volant is one of my least favorites. Hopefully, this "side story" version made enough new adaptions to change things up for the better. So far, I really appreciate the traditional wuxia feel and camera angles. Additionally, I totally love Lin Yu Shen and glad he has a role in this drama. Wrapping up episode 1 and onto ep 2!

I was thinking the same. Very similar vibe and subterfuge usage between the two pieces of work.
I feel WZF is probably an undercover cop. How else would he able to go as a free man at the end of the show for being involved in drugs, even as a user, since the law in China is so strict regarding this issue. There is a other explanation, and that is unless WZF has a tragic ending like Tony Leung’s character in the Internal Affairs, and that’s something I hope won’t happen here.

I’m waiting for SDC5, too. Seems like Being a Hero has a 1-day/wk airing schedule at the moment. Hopefully more slots open up soon unless they air multiple episodes in that one day. I’ll take all the Yibo I can get because it’s never enough.
I’m only up to ep 2 so far and it’s hooking me in. The scriptwriter and the director do an excellent job in creating enough suspicious activities, prompting us the put our thinking cap on and be a detective ourselves. I’ll be following this drama and hope the ride stays entertaining. Not to mention, I love Yi Bo and Chen Xiao.
Somehow I find it so satisfying when TZ pulls his sleeves away from Sheng De/ lamp lady’s hands at the bed scene in the latest episode. It conveys his disgust for her so overwhelming he couldn’t even tolerate his clothes being soiled by her touch.
YY and YD will always be one of my fave couples. I don’t care how messed up their faces are with blood-spits.😝
