That's why I don't read the novel/additional creative works of the original work because it takes away all surprises when watching the drama adaption. =). But you can still enjoy the drama in seeing how the director interprets his vision of the story.😁

The director does such a fantastic job in raising my anxiety whenever WYF is under attack, experiences ptsd'ish symptoms or elevated fear level, whether in past, present, in dream, or real life.

No, you don't have to watch HL first. The tone is different. This one is darker with a more mature FL and some underlying unpleasant topics. I would still recommend HL after you finish this or watch at tandem if you have extra time.
