Well she is genz lol and for someone to die anytime her being openly expressive even tho it seems childish doesn't…
Don’t wanna sound ageist but here we go - let’s rip the bandaid, shall we. A 35 year old actress is playing a 25 year old 🤷🏻♀️ and yeah the character is gen-z but she DOESN’T look it. And that’s why her aegyo on steroids is … unsettling. It’s just so misplaced. The whole screeching on the stairs scene (when he is dropping her back to her hospital) where she is telling the void life is short and bopping and jumping around. Yeah… no. I don’t know if it’s the cliche riddled character that’s off putting or the whole character + wrong casting is killing the deal
The quirkiness of the female lead is giving me the ick. It's giving dumb and feinged instead of endearing and genuine. The girl is old enough not to act like an ingénue. It's kinda an ick, her character.
Enjoyed the show, loved the actors. But i want to rant over how vague and impossible the murders are to commit,…
Best comment about this show is right here. Although I have rated the show really high (don’t ask me why. I just did). But this comment summarises everything that I had in my mind throughout the show lol
(Trying to keep it spoiler free) It’s a fantastic watch. Except the last episode and a half. Plus we didn’t get much insight into what happened to the killer when they were abandoned. All we got was their hate first at the person who abandoned them and then the people who actually wronged them.
What a cartoonish mess is this show. Not my cup of tea. Unnecessary comedy OTT characters Police officers who mess the shit up more than solve it A guy whose friend has just died but he is fuming, pouting, flirting, stuffing his face with boiled eggs and constantly acting childish and immature out of jealousy. A female lead who has unnecessary beauty shots while in the heat of the moment. A team leader who is stupid and incompetent for comic relief. Only redeeming angle is Lee Sang Yi's character who is the only one focused on the job of not just protecting the girl but also trying to solve the damn case while a caccophony of lunacy unfolds around him created by his own colleagues. Oh and these olympic avengers also have some sort of Olympic PTSD, which glitches their system and the bad guys conveniently get away cos of this.
It's so underwhelming. There's no suspense. It's just laid out there. Storytelling is not tight like Worst of Evil or Evilive. 6 episodes in and it lands flat.
I am curious about something. If any Korean viewers are here and can tell me how is this show being received in Korea? Especially from the critics standpoint. I saw this post saying it's No.1 in Korea right now, which is basically telling us the organic viewership of the show.
But how is it being received/reaction by the critics other than the public?
i heard the writer of this drama is very wise and succesful , especially good at presenting life's realities so…
@rubywooks did you watch it? thoughts? I mean...I had to come to this conversation we had 3 weeks ago just to catch up and see if you also experienced a Mr. Plankton hangover lol
I'm sorry, I can't stand the female lead. It's just cringeworthy. The gratuitous "Aegyo" is misplaced. It throws you off.
Watching it for NKM. So will stick with it.
