In the USA, a "depraved heart murder" is a means to hold a person responsible for a death as a result of gross negligence or what the Model Penal Code calls a “wanton disregard for the value of human life.”
If SK doesn't have a similar statute, maybe it should?
ngl, took me a while to understand how savage this comment is lol 👏👏👏For anyone wondering:Prefrontal…
Agreed. And I'm not making excuses for anyone but FYI, the prefrontal cortex is the last part of the human body to fully develop - not until around age 27. Also, drugs (including cannabis), head injuries and other factors can arrest this development.
So why haven't they changed the ML? Can't imagine people watching it after all that's been said about Kim. You'll…
I don't think Disney actually has any problem with crimes against children. (Their own track record in this regard is lamentable.) Their concern is with negative publicity. Give it enough time and they might budge. But this scandal isn't going away anytime soon. And I suspect they'd rather drop the show than recast it.
I used to want to watch Knockoff, but now I'm much more interested in "Business As Usual" — the behind-the-scenes office drama at an entertainment studio where everyone is panicking while attempting to negotiate a crisis where their founder and top-rated star is exposed for an horrific scandal. But this time, none of their tried-and-true methods of damage control seem to work, instead making the situation increasingly worse.
Each episode introduces a new strategy, a new expensive litigator, devious fixer, hacker or corrupt news media. Somehow all of these antics backfire in turn, until the crisis is so extreme that everyone is paranoid, suspecting each other of betrayal and turning on each other.
This office drama also has a fantasy element where angels, ghosts, gumiho, Cupid, an estranged-but-honest reporter, & an outraged public all manage to intervene against the forces of "business-as-usual" to bring the corrupt studio, its depraved star celebrity, and all their evil henchmen to justice.
I'm already giving this K-Drama series a 10/10. I can hardly wait!

EDIT: OK, I've changed my tune. While I prefer to take the higher road, I in no way can excuse the behavior of…
Especially those who support or legitimize grooming and worse offenses against minors. Leave them nowhere to spout their despicable ideas without pushback.
(Forget what I wrote earlier. I can't tolerate that $#!+ any more than you can!)
What’s the latest from gold medalist? Is it still we are trying to reach the family to state the facts in private?…
They have hired all the strategic litigators, all the top problem-fixers, and all the shrewd media reporters, have been huddled in emergency meetings for days, and still haven't come up with damage control let alone a solution. Everything they have done thus far has backfired, making their situation worse. Their desperation is now indistinguishable from despair. Everyone is paranoid, suspecting each other of betrayal, and waiting for the other shoe to drop. Panic!

All wars, racism, prejudice, misogyny, etc begin when people put labels on other people in order to avoid recognizing their humanity. No groups or individuals have differences surpassing our similarities. Regardless of our differences, we have more in common than we do differences. We are all humans and subject to mistakes and misunderstandings. Empathy is always warranted, even when it is distasteful. This is called diplomacy.
EDIT: That said, I make exceptions for those who support or engage in crimes vs children. Please do tie millstones around their necks and throw them into the deep waters.
