Why wasn't Dynamite Kiss scheduled to end in December? Because it didn't conclude until January, TIME magazine had to give the best K-Drama of 2025 award to When Life Gives You Tangerines. This drama wasn't even in consideration!
really funny,,, the acting of the main characters is really good,,, the director is very good,,, the writer is…
I think something happened to interfere with the writing. The first two episodes were excellent, as was the writer's debut drama (Mystic Pop-Up Bar).
I imagine a scenario where the writer wrote the first two episodes on her own before signing a deal, and subsequently receiving pressure from the studio and/or Netflix to hurry up and/or makjang it up, resulting in the poor quality overall.
CM reminds me of a character from that cooking anime (Food Wars) who copies his opponent's original dish but adds just a small strategic change to steal the win.
Culinary Monster looks so high and mighty when he is with other Black Spoons but he looks kinda adorable when…
To me it seemed like there was deliberate editing to make Chef Culinary Monster look like a strategist. More than once they showed him looking over at his opponent during their 1-on-1, and he wound up using similar ingredients (caviar & champagne) while expressing his confidence that his dumplings would win vs. Chef Son Jong Won's steamed eggs.
Plus in an earlier episode they showed the restaurant in California where both chefs previously worked (at different times), and the staff there told CM that he was a better chef than SJW. So I'm half-expecting CM to survive.
FYI, Netflix original dramas get the binge-drop, but when they partner with a domestic studio, the episodes are released right after they are broadcast in the host country. Also, Netflix reality shows get released in weekly chunks of a few episodes at a time.
For the close-tie one-on-one redemption challenges where both chefs serve something terrific, the judges should be able to allow both chefs to survive.
speaking of chatGPT, it didn’t write the story, but here is what it really says about the drama:“In South…
Haters? Really? I have not seen any posts wanting this to fail, denying its popularity, or suggesting that people who are able to thoroughly enjoy this are wrong for their opinions. What I have seen are posts from folks posting about their enjoyment despite the flaws along with posts expressing valid criticisms. And these discussions are precisely what MDL was made for.
omg thank you, that's exactly what I think!!100% agree with you!!i let a super small comment saying how i liked…
I think I posted one of those replies, for which I apologize. I think I know how you feel and I am learning to post my thoughts at the top instead of as a contrary reply.
why the rate is so bad? I know that the plot is not that perfect but in my opinion its genre is rom-com so ¯\🙄/¯…
Objectively, 8.0 is not low. It's just too low for your preferences.
You are correct that the leads have terrific charisma and we should be able to get past the imperfections while still enjoying this romcom. But viewers had to lower their expectations after the outstanding initial episodes, and the rating reflects that.
The media is already reporting social media backlash to the trailer. https://www.koreaboo.com/news/iu-byun-woo-seoks-k-drama-trailer-hit-scathing-criticism/
I fear this will be another IU fashion showcase (HdL) instead of an acting showcase (WLGYT, MM). The trailer features her wearing 4 different outfits within the first 4 seconds.
i dont know why but i myself enjoyed the last season more than this. this does not feel like culinary class war…
I agree.
But IMO the mukbang from S1 should have been rotating diners instead. I also think Napoli Matfia won too big of an advantage and should have had to compete in tofu hell.
And also they brought 2 eliminated White spoon to make 10B Vs 12 W spoons.I also think they are planning to make…
Brewmaster Yun is excellent within her domain of traditional Korean drinking cookery, but lacks the versatility to compete on par with the more experienced chefs. And she knows it.
