There's no comparison except for the same time period setting. Watch it, you will not regret. You'll probably get addicted. Lol

I hope no more crown prince/king character I hated him in sea 1. After all the support they gave him, he seperated…
I think the King will make small appearance but will not dominate screen time like the first one. Prequel was horrendous, scriptwriter basically kill the original work to dumb down everything.

She'll be angry but as she doesn't have feelings for the sml additionally she works for him (workplace harassment right here) she'll continue with her spy work.

Lol, of course he's in love. Fresh out of military school from the age of 12 and then have a beautiful woman "seducing"…
Yes, he's 19, almost 20. In the upcoming episodes (VIP), his family will host his 20th birthday celebration.

I like how it's filmed, face-focused camera, it adds an elegant vibe, also the ml lost the battle he's already…
Lol, of course he's in love. Fresh out of military school from the age of 12 and then have a beautiful woman "seducing" him. Plus, him being deprived of love and care from a young age. The exchange of wits and chemistry of each exchange is stimulating, especially for a 19 year old. :D

Did they kill the nosey neighbor? Or have they reveal what happen to her in later episodes?
Yes. In the book her death was explicitly describe but in the drama it was imply when FSZ had a flashback to her training session with MXA and he said he doesn't want her to dirty her hands (kill).

Why are Republican dramas always sooooo historically inaccurate??! And that dance they did was so cringe I could…
It's the editing. Xu WeiZhou was a Latin dancer for 10 years. Also, where's the inaccuracy if you don't mind telling more.

Novel and drama should be same age. ML is 19-20 (you'll see his 20th birthday celebration later), FL 23-24. Three years apart.

Is the novel happy ending?
Overall there's really none of those. Every character is self-motivated but doesn't really go over the top to be truly hated character. Novel was a truly smart read. From what I've seen so far, at 8 episodes, it follows very close to the novel.

It's a happy ending.
The ml admitted his feelings first but they both loved each other. No spare feelings for any others. As far as the novel goes, barely any angsty. It's the circumstances they are in that they keeps them apart.

It's a happy ending.
Yes, novel has a happy ending. Unless they changed it somehow, which is highly unlikely as the producers loved the original work, we'll get a happy ending with this drama adaptation. If there are changes/adjustments (I believe there must be as there some scenes that cannot be filmed) it should be minimal and doesn't affect the overall plotline. Too, the author wrote on Webio that the drama follows closely to the novel.
