LMAO, yes! I have seen Lee Shin Young paired with other actresses and the onscreen couples end up having a lot of chemistry. But here, I feel nothing at all.

TMAI! How does one mess up playing a cold, stiff character?! Her dialogue delivery leaves SO MUCH to be desired.

The FRIENDS reference... LMAO! Ding Jia Wen was so adorable in Truth or Dare. He seems to have lost a lot of weight since then. *sigh*

Exactly! I really wish the editing and the story flow had been better, then this drama could have been solid 9 in terms of rating. The drama does get a few things really right.

I love how realistic the wars scenes are. They give all they have to show us hundreds of soldiers in the battlefield.…
IKR?! They even showed soldiers stepping over fallen soldiers. I think they did a fantastic job of showing the battle scenes with the limited resources that they had.

Ooh. Cool. I am such a sucker for BSB. πŸ˜„ Till around the early to mid-2000s, we had such awesome artists and groups. Even the one hit wonders have enduring legacy. My playlist at the time had songs from bands like The Verve, Linkin Park, Nickleback, etc. πŸ˜ƒ

That era of Pop was just edgy and awesome, not the mostly heavily autotuned garbage of nowadays.

I agree. There is no visceral emotional tone. It feels disjointed. Forgetable. it’s all super strange to me…
I understand exactly what you are trying to draw attention towards. I do feel that cuts due to censorship may have been why the drama seems to lack a cohesive manner of storytelling. Some scenes are really well done. Some others not so much. While it took a while for me to warm up to it, I am indeed enjoying it immensely as of now, flaws and all. In my opinion, the supporting characters feel a lot more lived in than in many other dramas that I have watched. So, this is a plus. However, the scenes don't always seamlessly flow into each other.

True! I am actually invested in this drama and don't really mind some of its flaws, but the exaggerated slo-mos totally take me out of my immersion into this world. The fight scenes are some of the best I have seen, yet, some of these slo-mo shots such as them striding towards the city gates made me LMAO.

Why would that bother you? It would not be unusual for a warrior clan to have women who also fight. I actually…
I think it'd best for us to agree to disagree. I have already explained in my replies the reasons why I think the Wei daughters-in-law wielding spears is plausible. There are different levels in the acquisition of any skill. For instance, a Shaolin monk would obviously be far better trained in Kung Fu than say an ordinary man or woman training in some basic moves of Kung Fu. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ The former is a master while the other is a novice. However, when push comes to shove, both would probably react similarly. Also, if you remember, the eldest Song sibling despite being able to fight, didn't ever go to battle and was easily bested by Chu Yu. Yet, because the Weis needed manpower, the Song siblings successfully fought against Yao Yang's men. My point is that despite being able to fight, the eldest Song was not a good enough fighter, certainly not the type to hold his own in battle. So, the Wei ladies not going to battle makes sense given the restrictions placed on women of that time and their limited martial skills.
