Tbh, the romance between either isn't exactly drawing me in, the script is. The screenplay is actually quite fun. Yet, somehow the execution is lacking. However, the SML and SFL do have some chemistry. I was thinking the younger self of the ML from Love Your Enemy may have been more suited to this role. CHW, inspite of doing a good enough job, comes across as trying too hard. Compare this to MWJ who effortlessly held his own against MKY in their scenes together. 🤷🏻♀️
I'm on episode 5 right now and I just have to say that after watching BURIED HEARTS , UNDERCOVER HIGH SCHOOL ,…
No, I am in the same boat as you and I actually love romcoms. My issue is solely the chemistry between the two leads which in my opinion is severely lacking. It's a crying shame because there is nothing wrong with the drama, the characters, the actors or the story. Mind you, I have no issues with their reel or real life age gap. I guess I am not just vibing with their romance. It doesn't feel organic or earned. Having said that I love that BJY is still a kid at heart, yet not immature. 😁 People get too fixated on growing up.
The theme is different. It is a slowburn and a second chance romance. If you don't enjoy extreme fluff or sad…
Ooh. You have certainly convinced me. Thanks! TWOT was just badly crafted. I don't have problems with sad stories. LJ is one of my favourites, yet, her performance and every aspect of TWOT overall made me cringe. I had started it expecting something like Better Days but I quickly realised that I gave the makers too much credit. It's a crying shame because the novel is pretty decent.
Honestly I have nothing against Hyunwook I love him he's from my generation but for me I'm 100% sure that Moon…
I wish they had taken some other equally younger guy... It's a crying shame because it's not CHW's or MKY's fault. They just don't have chemistry. I was thinking about the guy from Love Your Enemy playing this role... Even MWJ who plays the character's younger self had such great presence in the few scenes he had with MKY. They looked exactly what they were supposed to look. The babysitter and her troublesome, annoying and absolutely oblivious charge. 🤣
Hey! Please anyone kind rank these for me in order of how good and worth it they are:-My Dearest Nemesis-The Potato…
Undercover High School and The Potato Lab tied at 1st place (Hilarious if you are into campy fun) Buried Hearts at 2nd place (only because I am in the mood for lighthearted fare) My Dearest Nemesis is at the last position (Story is fun, however, the chemistry is severely lacking and certainly not because of the age gap).

Thank you for your reply. I understand that the themes and genres are different. I guess I was hoping for someone who hasn't enjoyed either HL or TWOT to throw light on how they are finding this one. 🤭 I have no problem with slow burn. I like it when any show doesn't try too hard and the progress seems organic. 😊
I don't know any KPop songs, LOL. Maybe one or two. I can recognise only Jinyoung, JW and Bambam (because they somehow pop up on my YT) from GOT7. I am into classic and alternative rock music. The only Pop music that I like is western Pop from the '90s and early 2000s.
IYKYK. 😅 I think I have come across a clip of Roommate on YT in the random way that YT throws up recommendations! 🤔 All I remember is SKJ and JW sharing a bedroom and roughhousing each other the way brothers do. 🤣 Now that I think about it, I got to witness some really good actors (including idol-actors, this was before knowing what KPop and KPop idols mean and realising most of them cannot act to save their lives, also, am not into KPop, so, I end up knowing who is an idol because they are acting in a drama) at the start of my KDrama journey.
Same here. 😂 I usually end up watching whatever holds my attention and not always does it have to be a critically acclaimed drama. His character (not his acting) in SCL was tbh meh. I don't recall having watched Roommate. Have no idea which show this is. I watched Come and Hug Me after watching The Secret Life of My Secretary because I was so impressed by JKJ's performance in the former. I am liking this one because it is good campy fun.
Healer was one of my earliest dramas, LOL. Also, What Happens to My Family starring PHS and SKJ was something that I watched even before Healer. The entire then youthful cast of this weekend show have gone on to become great actors. What's interesting is that both of them as well as the FML and supporting cast showed great potential from the very outset.
Haha, he is indeed younger but he has been in scores of dramas, including JCW starring Healer. He has been pretty versatile in terms of the supporting characters he plays. Tbh, initially it was a bit jarring to watch him play a bully in this one.
Some of the viewers gotta pull themselves together or use their circumstantial observation at the very least.…
Ikr?! Her freaking out about doing the right thing while not losing her head in the process was so relatable! While I like to believe that most of us, including myself, ultimately do what's right, we absolutely cannot discount how indiscriminately abusive those with power can be. Also, I so dearly wanted to smack that kid who shushed AYJ.
What's so bad about sooyoung? She's pretty and her acting is good
Tbf, only the individuals directly involved can throw the most light on the situation. As far as I am concerned, celebrities in general should not be put on a pedestal. Human beings are flawed, entertainers potentially more so given the toxic nature of the industry they are a part of.
