was not expecting how good this ended up being! at first, it just seems like a toxic couple put into a world-ending type of situation, but as the story progresses, we get to see our lead characters develop into realistic people who have made mistakes (looking at u ritsu) and want a 2nd chance
yuma and megura were a lovely addition to the story, they were so loveable and didn't feel 2d at all - that lil twist with yuma that they kept hinting at was unexpected but cool! added a lil flair!
overall, i enjoyed the hell out of this story about flawed people wanting to give life and love another shot
i thought this was gonna follow more of a buddy comedy type of formula but i was quickly proven wrong! it had a fun, lighthearted beginning, then got dark reallllll quick, bringing attention to a prominent social issue - and I'm all here for it!
the action was phenomenal and the overall social message about the diabolically low prison time for heinous crimes was really well-implemented! i proper enjoyed this one!
wow...i have a lot of feelings about what i have just watched....its toxic asf because lets face it, these are…
fuck stabbing maya, i need Haoran to empty an entire clip into his crazy ass (actor did an excellent fkn job), as well as shoot kaji in the knee at least once for setting him up to do sex work AND put a couple bullets through matsuki for participating????? i feel like that was glossed over too quick with no repercussion and everyone was still cool with him?????
wow...i have a lot of feelings about what i have just watched....its toxic asf because lets face it, these are two VERY flawed and broken individuals who have both been let down by the world and family figures in their lives. However, these two broken people fit together just like two puzzle pieces and somehow, their toxicity acts as a reality check for the other to better themselves
its absolutely raw and heavy, yet sooooo cathartic at times, and it really gave me similar emotional ass whoopings as banana fish! like these guys are ash and eiji from an alternate universe!
basically, its not your regular fluffy bl and it leans into some darker themes (suicidal ideation, csa etc.) but the growth and love between the leads is amazing! worth the watch for sure
i really enjoyed the 2nd couple and the slight hints of the 3rd pairing/bromance, they were both cute to watch. the main couple wasn't exactly the most convincing to me chemistry-wise, but their acting and the story was enjoyable nonetheless
overall, it was ok, not the best but not the worst either - makes for a decent binge watch when you want something light
its a fun and pleasant watch about nothing serious or stressful, so makes for a good way to pass the time. i really liked the way they showed the group chat tho, it was really innovative!
more scenes of the novel universe would have been really good, i think i enjoyed those parts the most! but the leads' chemistry was goooood nonetheless! the plot was a bit of a let down but oh well
i thought this was a lovely addition to the main series!!
by mentioning how they cannot legally be recognised as a couple in japan, and then showing their friends' disbelief of their potential relationship very much tells the audience that despite the world not being ready to accept them yet, they wont give up on what they have and are willing to tough it out as long as they have each other
i thought that was beautiful, bittersweet and realistic! but it seems to be misinterpreted and taken for face value judging by the other comments
yes, the kisses could have been better but the story, characters and chemistry completely override any qualm i may have about that (its realistic for their age anyways)
its a very beautiful and poetic show with wonderful acting - i just wish we got more depth and dialogue between them instead of longing silence but oh well, it was still pretty damn good either way
this was actually so fun and pleasant to binge watch! though i gotta admit the editing was choppy as hell and the continuity wasn't as solid as it should've been - nevertheless, the acting and chemistry were good enough to overlook these issues and enjoy the show!
its very scooby doo-esque, where their lil gang go and investigate supernatural events and uncover the real cause/perpetrator
idk, i didn't like it as much as i wanted to, i think in large part because the main character is an absolute plain jane and bc i feel like the flamboyant style of the show doesn't mesh well with the mystery/horror folklore the eps are based on - the library episode is an exception tho, that one was fantastic and nearly made me cry lmao
cool show, just not my thing i reckon - and ffs, get that boy some earplugs or some shit, him grimacing all the time pissed me off
i liked this a lot! it takes the controversial topic of infidelity and places it in a story where you really cant help but root for the main leads since you witness their nuanced emotions surrounding their yearning for physical connection
basically its everybody's fault yet nobody's fault at the same time - it definitely goes to show the importance of open communication in a relationship
aoba is the perfect example of SPITE being one of the best motivators of all, that boy is a straight up haterrrrrr to his dying breath and i respect that lmaooooo
the fight choreography was probably one of the best i've seen, it was performed and executed sooooo well to the point you forget its not real - loved it!!
loved it! it expands very nicely from the first season, gets you hooked all over again, and then leaves you with a cliff hanger to get you pumped up for the next season!
although its a crime mystery, dont expect the cases to be logical and rational - a lot of the cases get solved through shen yi and his uncanny methods and make even less sense than in the first season lmao, you just kinda have to roll with it
the character dynamics this season are really good! possibly the highlight of the season! looking forward to s3!
honestly i thought this was the perfect representation of high quality trash lmao
like you can tell a lot of work and effort and a decent budget was put into it and honestly, it was a guilty pleasure because of that, but no matter what you do with this kind of story, its gonna end up wack anyways. no fault in the actors or team behind it, its just an ass story to begin with........i would still watch a pt 2 thooooooooo (like i said, its a total guilty pleasure)
its so bad that it becomes entertaining, lets leave it at that
What do you recommened to watch? This or anime version?
the live action would have quite a few limitations because of budget so i would recommend the anime version - it has very beautiful art and the story is much more immersive with its scifi elements
its a cute slice of life but it was pretty uneventful. the cop's lack of personality other than being a nice cop didn't help either - oh well, it was nice to doze off to at least, and i mean that in a complimentary way
maybeeee a movie format might have been a tad better

this shit was fire, id love to see a 2nd season
