Thank you for the detailed answer, I'll give it a try. Any other BLs you'd recommend from 2025-2026 where both leads are equally into each other, I've noticed that a lot of the popular ones lately have one ML way more obsessed/devoted.

I want to check this out so does it actually have both leads equally obsessed with each other because that's my favorite trope in romance? Because the way everyone is talking the clips I see online make it seem like the glasses ml is way more into long haired ml than the other way around.

Literally same, Almost every drama this year was girlboss x whipped ML who falls in the first few episodes, I like a deeply in love ML but he has to have an actual life and personality outside FL and she needs to match his devotion but that's like asking for the moon last few years, last year we had a few but 2026 is truly abysmal in this regard. I haven't heard of that one I'll check it out. Here's to more equal and devoted otps in 2027 (though it will probably get worse 🤣).

I'll give it a shot, yeah I've seen people say they love the secondary otp more but honestly with how one sided most romances are nowadays as someone who needs their love stories to be equal it's hard to be picky. Would you recommend any other drama this year where the FL is as devoted as the ML? The only ones I can think of besides VOS are How dare you and Love between the lines and even those two are kinda close but it's still unbalanced...

VOS otp my beloved, those 2 are perhaps my favorite couple of the year, they were soooo devoted to eo and that's so rare in a sea of ML is madly in love from ep 4 and FL barely cares until the last 2 eps. How would you categorize the romance here? I know it's not a very serious show but does the otp have a similar dynamic of ride or die, will do anything for you from BOTH sides where they are as invested and as in love and not just ML like almost every other cdrama?

Everyone keeps telling me she felt bad and was sad etc and that seems better than most fls tbh but what is her behavior? Does she show up for him, does she support him, does she care for him by actual actions AS MUCH as he does I assume since he's a cdrama ml and the only gear they have is madly devoted and in love.

Yeah that's nice but that doesn't tell me much tbh, I need active constant actions and devotion that rises to the same as his level, something like You are my glory where she's genuinely as in love and puts him first and shows up in all types of ways as much as he does because I've been told a bunch of otps were equal when I asked and it turned out to be not true or even close.

I'm not saying that's the case for you but most people only focus on the ML's feelings and actions of love towards the FL, they consider them the same as long as she's not being truly awful to him, her doing the bare minimum is seen as 50/50 which is why I ask the reverse question, if the MLs actions were the FLs and the FLs were the FLs would you say it's equal and they're as in love and devoted through their behavior?

Thank you for the answer, I totally get the low EQ thing, that's the way a lot of MLs used to be in the 2000s and 2010s so I love the role reversed but despite that those MLs were very devoted, which is why I'm wondering, despite her low EQ, even as friends and while they're realizing their feelings, does she care about him, show up for him, take care of him, prioritize him as much as I'm sure he does since that's every ML ever does this?

I'm thinking of watching this and is the otp truly as in love with each other? Because most cdramas ML is down bad by himself and does everything, all the caring and big gestures and devotion come from him while FL is a spectator. So my question is is truly an equal love where they both show up, sacrifice and love each other just as much and if the roles were reversed would you think ML was doing enough? Lol sorry that got long I'm just so tired of these unbalanced relationships cosplaying as romance.

Okay let me see; For both I'm gonna talk about the fls devotion since every ml in every single romance drama in existence is veeeery devoted and these are no exception; kdrama wise:

Princess man: a historical but has an one of the most equal otps since the fl is so ride or die and a happy ending after a lot of angst, truly top tier romance.
Hometown cha cha cha: Beautiful, emotional,funny. They adore eo and it's 100% mutual, she confesses first and they propose to eo at the same time.
One spring night: This is a drama and she's dating someone else but she is surprisingly devoted, he's a single dad (never been married though) and that's basically a crime in SK but she stands by him and defends him to even her own family.
My rommate is a gumiho: She's an absolute badass and so proactive in the rslp and truly ride or die.
Queen and I: Angst, time travel, epic love through time and space.
Ugly alert: This one is really long (though the episodes are 30 minutes) but it does rich girl- poor boy to perfection and they are sooo solid
The beauty inside: fun romcom with a great otp and a really great reciprocal heroine.
I hear your voice ,Flower of evil, Suspicious romance : All 3 have thriller elements and very very equal reciprocal otps.
Fight for my way: Another good romcom and in this one she's the one who has been pining for years although she's dated.
Her Private life: Amazing otp, this is a romcom and they are so beautiful and sooo supportive of eo.
Cdramas:
Hidden love: He's her brother's bff and she has a crush on him, he doesn't have feelings for her until she's in college and she's very supportive of him since he has a shitty life but he's also as loving and caring.
Love between fairy and devil: One of the most epic romances, both willing to die and give everything for eo.
Fated Hearts: A badass general that's betrayed and ml stands besides her and she returns it just as much with her skill and loyalty.
Wanna be: This is so underrated but they are couple goals, absolute 50/50 equality, put eo first always.
You are my glory: A fantastic romcom, starts slow but the romance is gorgeous and they are wonderful together.

Absolutely, I don't consider it romance until it's mutual and that reciprocity is equal at that, not ML doing 8 things and FL doing 2. What are your preferred genres ? And would you like recs for cdramas too?

I was just asking because I don't like otps where one side is more devoted than the other, since usually when multiple comments are like this emphasizing the MLs devotion it means the FL isn't doing as much.

I already asked a few people and they said this is one where the devotion and dedication is mutual and she's as dedicated and devoted to her as he is but reading your comment and a few others makes me think that's not really the case.
