What i love about this show so far is how proactive and capable everyone is , what i love even more is that being…
A few instances of the proactivity i was talking about is when they went to kill her at the hospital there was no hesitation "oh this is bad"in the middle of a fight which is something a lot of shows do that i hate, and when da il saw that dude who was clearly possesed he didn't spend time gaping and watching he instantly took the phone and started recording. As for the competence of our ladies i mentioned, the lawyer for instance has no qualms manipulating and using people to get what she wants, and gets things done as fast as lightning. YW always makes her her own choices while relying on other people's help when she needs it. And we also have our resident ex-shaman ghost half-seeing badass m.e who's not afraid of anything or anyone and has chosen to help this group of people although she has no connection to any of them. I'm glad we're getting these portrayals on top on a genuinely scary villain who's story has nothing to do with being scorned by some man and is just a psychopath (although i'm sure we'll get some backstory as to why she is the way she is).
What i love about this show so far is how proactive and capable everyone is , what i love even more is that being competent doesn't preclude the women, we have YW who can read lips and hold her own in a fight, the medical examiner who's very good at her job, and the lawyer who's very smart and the best at what she does.
Why is it that whenever someone says something even remotely negative about this show someone feels the need to comment and asks them to go watch a drama that's considered "low quality" instead , this is a fantastic drama but people have different tastes some might find it depressing or even boring , and they have a right to express their opinions this is the comment page, not the attack anyone who disagrees page.
You know, i don't mind all the cliches ( they can be great when done right and even entertaining when not) but this male lead is truly a mess, forget the wrist grabbing and the constant belittlement, all he knows how to do is get jealous when he has no right to and for the dumbest reasons, but when it's actually something important her, like her first script as writer which he knows is basically her biggest dream , he shows no regard whatsoever and no remorse when he tanks it, but then he has the audacity five seconds later to pull that shit when she's getting into her boss' car, i found his behavior to be truly disturbing, this drama feels like a total regression in terms of basically everything, like it belongs in 2009 , i don't need angelic or boring leads, complex characters are always welcome and problematic behavior when adressed and dealt with can be interesting but when behavior like this is swept under the rug and is viewed as swoon worthy and romantic, i wanna bang my head against a wall.
I am so heartbroken by what they did to hanyang, it was so fucking tragic, and it looked like jiwon was gonna propose , this can't be the end, this is literally one of the only lgbtqa rep in the history of korean dramas the fact that we had an actual love story although minor is basically unheard of, I only know of 2 others, and it was handled with such respect and sensitivity so far, to have this be the end would be such a disservice to all of that, but I didn't see anything in ep 16's preview and with him back and jail and doing the one thing jiwon asked him not to do, I can't see how this can even end well, I'm just truly disappointed and upset.
You know what, I loved this drama, it had it's flaws, what show doesn't but it did a lot of things right , mainly a fantastic romance and one of my favorite heroines, a badass messy volatile smart woman that keeps her agency until the end ( and kudos to nam ji hyun for a beautiful performance including her natural ease where skinship is concerned, she really sold it which is more than I can say for 90% of korean actresses).
This is fantastic so far, it treats every single character with delicately and a sensitivity that you rarely see in dramas, and another thing I noticed was how many complex interesting women there are from almost every age bracket, I hope it keeps being this good.
You know, aside from the female focus and the utterly adorable romance, what I loved most about the show was Shi Ho and her arc, even when she made mistakes I always rooted for her.
Can we get a flashback to Se Hee beating up that piece of sh*t because i need to see that, also i am loving the direction they're taking with Ho Rang and won seok, they loved each other very much, but sometimes that's not enough and i hope they don't pull a reunion on us because it would be kind of unrealistic at this point and a disservice to the message that people can move on and find their happiness somewhere else .
This show is f*cking with my feelings to the highest degree, i care about every single character and for a show to be able to do that is no small feat.
I've heard that Secret Forest will get season 2 next year, well..if this is true.. i still want Jo Seung Woo and…
Definetly, both of them and the writer need to come back for season 2, otherwise it might just ruin an almost perfect first season. I hope it's not one of those second seasons with a different cast like bad guys.
Two episodes in and this is SO good, everyone is just so lovely i love our three leading ladies and their friendship, as well as the younger cast, can't wait for the rest.
This was not my cup of tea, at all. It barely made me laugh and i didn't care about any of the characters, after hearing all the praise i was expecting a lot, too bad.
If this show doesn't end with Sang Mi setting those f*ckers on fire, i'm suing.
Lmao right? That'd be the most painful way to go. You know i only need 3 things from this drama, Sang Mi to get away and be happy, Dong cheol to save the day along with sang mi and be happy and every single asshole to end up dead or indefnitely in jail depending on the gravity of their bullshit including her father.
We have two types of trios in this drama, the evil one (they're smart and manipulative and have ascended from hell), and the dumb trio ( stupid, naive summer children who need to wake up, and they're not that nice either ) and then there's Dong Cheol and Sang Mi who are basically the only smart AND kind people to exist in this ignorant town (Muji actually means ignorance/darkness/emptiness) how fitting.
After episode 3, I already want to strangle so many people
- Sang Hwan is all talk, but when it comes to actually doing something he's a coward ( while realistic for an 18 yo and people in general) i still wanna smack him.
- Sang Hwan's father is a piece of garbage, the way he said " when i become governor your mom will get better'????? what kind of delusional logic and he has no qualms using his poor wife to gain power not to mention his rampant corruption.
- Those 4 disgusting bullies, I honestly didn't feel sorry for the one who became paralyzed , he had a huge hand in someone's death and literally didn't give a shit, the other 3, i hope they get what they deserve, these are monsters in the making, more accurately they're already monsters, they'll just get worse.
- Sang mi's parents, while i feel for them, they can't manage to do anything, especially her father , i mean damn if you're going to avenge your son's death at least do it half right.
- The creepy church geezers, good lord, filthy sexual predators 'the virgin who'll bring us salvation' poor sang mi she's gonna be so alone and in so much pain, i'm already dreading it.
- Dong Cheol is just a wonderful human being and it's clear that the warmth of his grandmother and her love are what shaped him, despite having terrible parents ( a father that actually tells him he wishes he was dead to his face).
- i love Sang mi she's so strong i honestly don't know how she's part of that family
This drama is fantastic but it's 24/7 suffering and it's so hard to watch, so many heartless disgusting people i feel like either crying or screaming every minute i'm watching. I NEED sang mi and Dong cheol to end up happy, together ( while i feel that they'd be good as a couple they're both strong principled people who's parents are trash and who've been through so much) or seperately i just need them to be happy in the end.
