Basically Ep1-2 used to be Ranran and 3-8 is Flashback to MQG.
Now Ep1 starts in the past and it just flows normally from past to present.
Look for Ranran's appearance in midway point of Ep6 hehe

It can happen, because its only a reorder and not really a re-edit. So that does not affect what has already been approved by the censorboard.
It was because they took to heart the feedback from audience that it was confusing and not many people were keen to watch 8 eps before they saw the reveal.

Maybe screenwriter felt that MRW needs to at least look like she could have had a chance to be happy but she had to ruin it too...

I was annoyed with the fl's sister from start to end LOL But same, I had problems watching her scenes at first, but later on she keeps getting her ass kicked so that made her scenes very watchable.

Yes it is not going to be a nice thing because in the novel SYS and XRR gets punished for reading the page of heavenly book in the final fight against Dun Tian and had to die by lightning trial *eye rolls*

They did manage to 'cheat' the system ( SYS got RR pregnant by holding a super rushed wedding lol ) and SYS 'dies' but he managed to move his soul to the tree and gets reborn again as a fruit. He was so anxious to get back he cut his time down from 20 years to 6 lol, which was kind of a funny circle but I am fine with it being left out.

As it is our drama budget was so stretched it made no sense to include a bunch of incompetent heavenly officials side characters, who stood by while Dun Tian tried to kill everyone and only arrived at the end to punish the heroes. That would have marred the PE we got now.

First we need to establish who is MQG/ Xue Ranran

When the Heavenly Sovereign ( the biggest boss, usually the loud booming voice with no body in xianxias) and his mortal wife/ immortal partner ascended, she was with child, and unfortunately the child died because it had no cultivation and cannot follow them into Heaven.

The 'Queen Mother' was wrecked with grief and guilt for not being able to protect her child, so they got this divine tree to nurture her soul for like a really long time, thousand years? ( its kind of an abuse of authority since most people had to leave their mortal entanglements behind but the Queen Mother was really very sad )

Just as the 'fruit' was about to be born soon, one of the big 3 Emperors of Heaven who work directly under the Big boss CEO, so like CFO or COO, named Lie Yang ( our most handsome male lead ) had a work eval. While his big boss told him he was doing a great job but he needed to develop his EQ skills, he told him he needs someone to go down to Earth to help them block an upcoming calamity.
Lie Yang, the most handsome and masculine immortal they got, was like WHY SHOULD I? I didn't make any mistakes at work! No, I REFUSE! And wait until I level up because I am aiming for your job next!

Lie Yang, annoyed, had some drinks at a party and he fell asleep by the tree where his boss's fruit-daughter was hanging by.

They met again as SYS and MQG, and MQG was drawn to him inexplicably ( hoho the fruit wants what the fruit wants ). Also her mother is very angry that Lie Yang is mixed up in her daughter's life again because she wanted her to ascend quickly and rejoin her in heaven. So she stole the heavenly book to show her daughter that this SYS is no good and will be the demon king etc, to warn her to give up this loss cause and cut him off. But, MQG decided to change his fate and in the end got herself killed instead.

The father was very sad too so he sent a dream to SYS about the divine tree which he moved to the Mount Jue and SYS managed to revive her.

The rest is pretty much the same, except by novel end SYS and RR both were informed of their previous lives, again by his very disapproving mother in law who wants her daughter to break up with SYS.

So their 'fate' is actually a 孽缘 which means troubled fate, where mixing together will have no good end. MQG kind of 'owed' SYS because she was the reason he had to take the punishment and go through tribulation when he was innocent of harming the divine fruit.

The morale of the novel story is, Parents don't mix up in your children's love affairs... LOOOL

If MQG was 'born' in Heaven, she would have been some kind of powerful Wood elemental fairy and she will probably stalk Lie Yang all day long as his fan girl. That would make a different xianxia!

Its a very easy read I finished it in 3 days before.

Seeing how they barely crammed the current plot into 40 eps and was not made by the censorboard to cut down their episodes, that plot arc won't have been possible unless they were allowed 50 eps... TT
Its so sad that their rule is so rigid...

But its alright, that still stands because they already hinted right in the start that five elemental spirit root geniuses like MQG were extremely rare and very few comes along every few thousand years lol and now suddenly in their time, they have two.

I am going to rewatch this because I know I missed stuff when I was distracted by SYS's face HAHAHAHAHAH

They really used their budget for drama production purposes. They had almost no money left for marketing which was a shame but at least the drama has great standards.

Its confusing but the official broadcast period is not over yet until mid March.

We just finished the drama on Express.
The drama is still showing for VIP viewers which ends on Feb 26, which will be the male lead Deng Wei's birthday!
As for people watching for Free its only until Ep 18 - but I think its not many watching at this pace lol
Who can stand the daily wait? I am so happy this drama didn't take any breaks in airing it would have been torture.

This score is extremely difficult to achieve because we had fandoms actually doing 团建 organised ratings to give 1 stars to attack the drama right when it started airing. Even now after the rating is out, they are doing it again to bring it down because they are jealous of the score.
