"XY's fake affection toward Jing" ?! LOL, come on be fair..To me, and to many others: XY developed feelings for…
And so XY never fully trusted anyone else, from Jing, including Xiangliu.
She just can't trust anyone. Which was why her first steps towards Jing after she runaway from her nearly disastrous union with Fenglong made her realize that.
Also XY is definitely NOT Sang Tianer. The drama and novel said as much.
Xiaoyao would rather suffer alone than hope a man will save her. She was behaving quite pathetically after her breakup, but who wouldn't since its a low point of their lives?
Jing who really understood Xiaoyao, said back in the dragonbone prison confession "You won't show devotion first. Sang tianer bets a lifetime with a false display of affection. You can be sincere with all your heart but if he doesn't cherish you, you will abandon him".
And please stop with the superficial comparisons of XY and XL being like her parents. XL is nowhere near the passion and love of Chichen. I feel its an insult to her father when you compare that way. Other that being a forbidden love story, XL can't even compare. His constant wavering between his 'duty' and 'Xiaoyao' just makes him look like a pathetic joke. He didn't even dare to take concrete steps towards Xiaoyao at all. Chichen was proud and strong in his love, and he gave up his country and his heart for Ah Heng.
"I've never truly believed in you because I don't dare to." Doesn't it sound similar to what Tian'er said? I have no idea what you mean by this. I can only think that you have a language barrier because Sang Tian er said no such thing.
Tushan Jing is a controversial character. Although he had suffered a lot as well in his pursuit of XY but compared…
" He was probably not put in any situation where he had to take life and death decisions. Or at least we were not shown any."
Well he did excuse Lanxiang's betrayal and sent her home ( in novel she took her own life out of guilt ), but in the novel, they took apart Hou's network and 'eliminated' his group of 'private soldiers' - too loyal to convert so I assume they were killed.
Jing has always been like Cangxuan, he was groomed to be like Cangxuan. Its not easy to be a CEO of a 'global company' when so many people from within the company and other clans are all out to try to look out for themselves. Since everyone is in agreement that Jing is 'great' at running business, that means he can deal tough when he needs to.
Only when it comes to matters pertaining to Xiaoyao, he becomes at a loss because he kept trying to get the best outcome but there just wasn't any. Everyone had their own interests and he was alone in that fight since Xiaoyao was still being a passive onlooker.
Again, its the storytelling which chose to neglect showing any of whatever Jing does, and here is the obvious 'bland' effect the team was hoping for.
does XL just give up his love for XY, like I'm on ep 9 rn and this dude's like Imma just take a break and let…
Its probably all part of XL's grand exit plan... like Al Pacino's character in Scent of a woman... eat an agreeable meal, have one last drink, and sniff Xiaoyao one more time....
There are interesting takes on his true intentions the most obvious is: Xiaoyao can cause a rift between Chishui and Chenrong clans with the royal family for handing them such humiliation.. but it didn't work since Fenglong is just THAT loyal to Cangxuan + he didn't love Xiaoyao at all... all families received hefty emotional damage payouts from both Xiyan and Haoling kingdoms..
Some have suggested that by destroying Xiaoyao's reputation this way, she will never again have to marry for political reasons or to someone who cared about 'reputation' since XL knows Jing won't care about such things anyway... I doubt that Xiaoyao would need to marry for political reasons in future since CX is firmly on the throne and is fully capably of marrying for his own political agenda now... so this is a bit stretching it and trying to excuse him...
This part in the novel will hopefully let you understand that what Cangxuan did to Xiaoyao was not to 'protect'…
Yes I am aware that perhaps you didn't know of the implications because that is exactly why the drama left out that part I guess...
won't be the first time the drama team itself trying hard to make CX less evil... but if he was like that, go the whole way, I can't stand how they twisted the ending to absolve him... and he even can slap xinyue... can't stand his self-righteous behavior grrr
Tushan Jing is a controversial character. Although he had suffered a lot as well in his pursuit of XY but compared…
Once again his silence was because the drama never gives the audience any chance to understand his mindset.
I see many people blaming him for getting killed because he chose not to kill his brother, but lets face it, his brother was just a means to an end. He also made sure Hou had no more ability or connections to harm him ever again. He just did not expect royalty to step in to kill him ( in drama, Xiaoyao).
Without Hou, the ones who wanted him dead would have just used another method to get rid of him before his wedding to Xiaoyao. Might have to look for another reason, but as long as the intention is there, they will find a way.
Me too, I love the characters. Even Jing, even if I have problems understanding his decisions (with FFYY in particular).…
What is such a weird decision? He even let his brother live. The brother who tortured him for 3 years.
I don't know if you read the novel, but in the drama, Jing has mentioned how he still remember and love that brother who had showered him with love for 400 over years.
So for Jing, he probably hoped that with a complete family, perhaps his brother can finally set his hatred down and live with his wife and son. Isn't this what 'deities' are supposed to do? They forgive mistakes and sins and allow redemption? Even fellow humans should do that for one another?
So why when Jing does it, suddenly its such a wrong thing to do? The whole point is, he just do not believe that killing FFYY would accomplish anything and would only deprive his nephew of a mother. And his action was right because FFYY spared Xiaoyao ( in the drama anyway) to repay him.
The one who can rule the clan well, and ordained by the heavens, has been proven to be Tushan Jing. If he was as soft as you suggest, Xiangliu won't have admired him and said he never managed to get the better of him over the centuries.
Finally what do you mean none of it will have happened? FFYY is not the one who planned the entire assassination. She was only a hired hand. The real person who did it is someone else.
Tushan Jing is a controversial character. Although he had suffered a lot as well in his pursuit of XY but compared…
That is all misinformation.
Tushan Jing will be living a nice long life with Xiaoyao who will be able to completely heal him over time.
Those tails that were ripped off his fox avatar during the battle are a manifestation of his spirit power. Its not his actual tails. Tushan Jing is not a fox.
As far as the novel goes, they are all deities, just with the bloodline of nine-tailed foxes from their ancestors, which grants them protection by the clan's divine fox guardian and also allows many of their descendants to be able to shape-shift as an innate ability.
So was CX the one to spread the rumor of XY being Chi Chen's daughter? He did this so he could protect her when…
This part in the novel will hopefully let you understand that what Cangxuan did to Xiaoyao was not to 'protect' her. He placed her life in danger forever, just so that she don't have to choose between him or Haoling. It was a very selfish move and he wanted her to stay by his side. Call it what it is, pls don't blindly defend someone horrible Cangxuan did to Xiaoyao.
Xiaoyao had trusted him with her deepest darkest secret, and he was aware how much this secret fear had tormented her over the centuries. Yet he chose to do it anyway for his own war agenda.
the except below is from the novel which obviously drama did not adapt, since it made Jing look wise:
"Jing pulled Xiao Yao to sit on the grass by the lake. "This wave of rumors has been fierce, exposing your secret background. Under the arrangement of the two Emperors, you have gone from being Princess of Gao Xin to a Lady of the Xiling Clan. It seems everything is over. But for you, it’s just beginning! Even with the protection of the two Emperors, they cannot stop people from being hostile, mocking, isolating, or making things difficult for you. You need to learn how to face the hatred of many people as a Lady of the Xiling Clan. While no one may dare to challenge the authority of the two Emperors out of fear of annihilation, there’s no guarantee someone won’t secretly hire an assassin to kill you.
You must also learn how to live strongly as the daughter of Chichen. Xiao Yao, avoiding this won’t make it go away. Face it bravely!"
Actually let me share what the differences between TSJ and Xiangliu's 'giving up on life' to me, that made me…
I just wonder if Xiangliu is actually also depressed... like Xiaoyao was too but he had lived 'too long' without someone to heal him... and he was what her future might be if she didn't find Tushan Jing.
Xiangliu is really a hard to understand character, I wonder if his heads have different personalities or they are just like a CPU chip just with more processing power with one main mind haha
I bet one or two heads are the lovesick ones... then the other heads keep scolding them for making XL a sad mopey drunk
I'm I the only one who is both team TSJ and XL. Like i can go either way and be hella satisfied with either ending…
yes pls say it louder... I can't believe so many people defending his actions for revealing her birth secret, calling it 'protecting' her when its anything but...
Are you suggesting that it’s it’s ok with you that he touches/kisses her while she’s unconscious? And married…
What you said happened when she was a man... after she became a woman again, she already refused to let him take blood from her neck at the risk of angering him. She minded the boundaries between man and woman and she clearly set that with him. As for the 'wrestling' everyone is so obsessed with after the whirlpool event, that is not even anywhere near sexy. She was just desperate that he won't leave her stranded again out of anger for looking at his real form. She don't even have that level of trust with him that he won't leave her behind.
If Xiangliu hugged her when she was conscious and not always during when she was unconscious it will be less creepy for me.
Are you suggesting that it’s it’s ok with you that he touches/kisses her while she’s unconscious? And married…
I don't know how many times a woman needs to tell a man she cares for him as a friend, for the audience to get the message.
No wonder in real life, women have issues keeping some men from crossing the line, when even women won't accept it when they hear it?
They already forgot how Xiaoyao did NOT want Xiangliu 'kissing' her body while she was in a coma before, they think she will be glad he was doing that to her when she doesn't know?
Are you suggesting that it’s it’s ok with you that he touches/kisses her while she’s unconscious? And married…
Its not the first time Xiangliu only dares to 'do things' to Xiaoyao when she is unconscious. He drowns her and then gives her CPR in the early days...
The more I see it the more disturbed I feel why the drama team will try to push this scene to us as being 'romantic'. What is happening here is a woman has lost consciousness after a man caused her serious injuries and this man, NOT her lover, takes liberties with her like a sick stalker?
She just can't trust anyone. Which was why her first steps towards Jing after she runaway from her nearly disastrous union with Fenglong made her realize that.
