Still can’t believe Adamas is only 8.0. This drama is phenomenal!

Exactly my thoughts! This drama really lacks any depth or character growth (except maybe for the Crown Prince). Villains were laughable and writing was too convenient to make Jang Uk look like a huge deal! Definitely meant for teens who would swoon over pretty faces and call it the “best drama ever”. As you said, parts of it were enjoyable and I think production value was solid. I wish S2 will make female characters look stronger and not damsels in distress.

For such a high budget drama, the king’s crown looks so cheap and crafty 😂

Hmm…I’m not sure what d’damas is but the name “diamond” derives from the Greek word adamas, which means invincible. Its in reference to both the extraordinary hardness of a diamond as well as (according to some ancient myths) its supposed magic properties to protect against any poison or attack.

You’re totally right, and not to mention- it’s extra demeaning to make the only female lead character so weak that she constantly needs one of the male leads to come save her from every situation. The whole promise of a strong mage called Naksu only lasted 1 episode haha!

I mean…they could’ve dramatically reduced the unfunny fillers from the first 8 episodes! There’s definitely a lot of skippable scenes. Keeping story tight is also a skill.

Writing is still quite lazy! Why won’t they spend more time showing how Uk is learning/mastering his new skills? It just happens to come to him quickly because he is the “chosen one”? Lazy…

More alchemy, less unnecessary side romances please. Episode 12 was really good.

Yup! The fan base of AOS is very different from other dramas- they treat these actors as idols and swoon over them no matter if the writing is good or bad. Being a little critical is not a horrible thing! Personally, I love this genre and was hoping for greatness but the teenage angst is a bit too much. The story progression does stall every now and again, to the point where I sometimes lose interest. This could’ve easily been a 16 episode drama. I have yet to watch the latest episode, glad to hear it’s a bit better :)

Why are there so many filler scenes in this drama? The story has become very 2-dimensional and draggy (Incoming AOS super fans to defend)

The ending of this drama proved that the accident/death at the end of ep 14 was a dumb plot device which served no purpose at all! Overall quite disappointing.

Really happy that Yumi’s love cell came back, and loving the implication that she is open to dating again- clearly SR is the one. I’ll keep Woong for myself thanks 😁

I’m also satisfied! I like that she found closure with both Woong and Babi, and that her love cell came back…

The scene with Woong in the coffee shop really made me tear up 😢
