i am on ep 32. so far so good. the romance was a bit slow. but it is a fan drama. i like the characters. the lil ister of xinbai was a lil annoying at first, but she is slowly growing up. i see character development in her. i just have to say occasionally the fl is stupid and searches for danger on her own u.u. also it's annoying that she doesn't keep boundaries from other men u.u. it is foul to accept an item from a man you don't like, yet you know he is interested in you. especially in front of your husband. how would she like it if he accepted gift from a woman who liked him?

the problem lies with the fact that this was a prequel to "the blood of youth" and some things were already set in stone beforehand -sigh- so they did not have liberties. imo , this would have been so much better had they treated it as a completely different story. and even if the blood of youth came first as a story, still when they made this prequel they left out a lot of things >_> . tbh i also did not want to watch, i only watched this drama for hou ming hao because he is adorable. after the ending of this story, there is an AU kind of ending where the ML and his best friend ended up not fighting after all. so i will just pretend the blood of youth never happened O_O and the AU ending is the real one lol

i have watched mostly old jdramas back then. i haven't watched a good one in a long time. i dunno if you can find these but gokusen & maou were top favs for me.

Ye Yun forgets about clearing the name of his family, instead he wants to marry that ex-fiance of his and tries to steal her but fails. the ex-fiance, wenjun, ends up marrying that prince and he gives her a drug to >>> understand. and she gets pregnant with the child of that maniac. and then eventually he gives birth. now the people from the sky's beyond organization that want to kidnap baili dongjun, end up wanting ye yun too, so what do they do? they kidnap wenjun, bring her to him, pretending it wasn't their doing. then ye yun lives happily for a few years, until the sky's beyond bring her back to the palace with the help of the emperor's lackies, emperor is not the disgusting prince with the many concubines who insisting on marrying someone who doesn't give a shit about him-- i wish he was dead but... no luck there) anyway after this ye yun goes berserk and wants his wenjun back, and joins forces with the sky's beyond >______> and they start attacking beli. baili dongjun wants to stop his bestie. he stops him, wins, but then some other ppl go to attack ye yun when baili dong jun in not there. and then eventually ye yun wins but then some stuff happens and ends up disipating his inner power and that obviously led to his death. he had a heart to heart with that bish wenjun , and then he dies >_>. then bailidongjun tells wen jun that he blames her for her stupidity and the death of ye yun and what spiraled from all that. and then, what else? hmmmm baili dong jun ends up marrying his sweetheart. but when blood of youth drama starts, his wifey is already dead i suppose. and the actor for baili dongjun isn't half as handsome as baili dongjun would have been. AND that emperor has wenjun in his palace of course u_u she is now the empress. this drama would have been so much better without wenjun. i quite liked baili dongjun's romance with that lady though. it was cute.

no you can't really say the sml is like Sasuke. see sasuke at least remained persistent in one goal and after he learnyhis lesson he romanced Sakura. our sml here midway lost his first goal and suddenly he wanted back his fiance who was engaged with a piece of large poop. no clue how many concubines that piece of poop prince had.. then his brother indulged his uselessness and allowed that piece of poop 💩 prince to become the emperor....i m still mad about that 🔥

i just thought that he couldn't be sure that his "brother" would not join forces with DY while they were away going to Yongzhou. That was a bad decision. but anyway. This drama was mid, but the actors did their job well at least.

i am on episode 7 >_> and i just have to say that xie yanlai doesn't think with his brain obviously. i am so annoyed.. he handed the token to that brother of his. >_____________> did he even think about the consequences? they did not show us anything about that decision of his. and he left the capital to go off and help zhao when she might not even need it!!! i am bothered when i see these kind of stupid moves >_> it's not like he is playing backgammon and he can afford to lose.

that .... i forgot the name, the villain who wanted to marry the fl? yes... him. he had an imaginary romance as he waited to marry 🤣🤣🤣🤣 so dun say there was no romance. xD jk. but i fairly enjoyed zhan zhao even without non-imaginary romance. i liked the fights. i would have appreciated it more if ml's poisoning wasn't a recurring crutch. we barely saw him at his 100%....

i fairly enjoyed this drama but it's because of ji bozai. i loved the music and the cinematography in general. though some cgi weren't perfect but it's ok. i tolerated star trek's cgi so xD. i wouldn't say this drama was mid. but ming yi's character for a long time was indeed mid. i think she could have been written better.

2/3 of the "liquor" in the jars get spilled out .. he only drinks 1/3 of it >.>maybe even less XD ( i bet it's water too XD). also, the technique of the scolarly "deity" reminds me of theByakuya's BANKAI!

after watching this, the only characters i liked were Tang foc & chiyun & master shao & Shen the shadow. everyone else was annoying or badly written

i have not seen a more wasteful and useless character than this girl who was impersonating a princess.

i had an allergic reaction as you described the story o.o was planning to watch this but frankly it seems like it's the illogical type of plot with nom consistent to logic and psychology characters so... yeah. i will get severe allergic reaction+ might even get my blood pressure up
