The school arc was overall good, and I can overlook some mistakes since everyone makes mistakes when they’re young. But you can’t expect the same from the adult versions. The writers just made their characters more unlikeable. Well, the express is up — I just want to finish the drama now. As long as we get some happy moments at the end, I’ll probably be satisfied.

Well, I finally caught up with the drama. I was expecting an express package, but unfortunately that’s not happening. The drama started with a lot of promise, but somewhere in the last 3–4 episodes it completely lost its direction. I honestly don’t know what went wrong. Both the ML and FL have become huge red flags. I don’t understand why the ML can’t move on with his life. It’s been ten years. Sure, we know they’ll end up together in the end, but in a normal scenario you can’t wait for someone who left you completely. She’s not coming back. You’re just destroying your life. That’s loser behavior. Being romantic and devoted to the FL doesn’t make him a good character — it’s actually his biggest character flaw. Screenwriters should never write a character like this. And the way he keeps harassing the FL? I really dislike that attitude. Just move on with your life already.

As for the FL, I don’t even know what to say. No matter what her reasons were, she hurt him badly. She was young back then, but she’s not young anymore, and she’s hurting him even more now. I’m not sure what she’s doing. Is she using him again? I really don’t want to see such a toxic character. One good thing is that, unlike the ML, she actually moved on with her life — that’s at least something. But she’s like a rock with no feelings. Honestly, I don’t think she deserves anyone.

The screenwriters really messed up writing both the ML and FL. It could have been so much better. Still, I want them to get back together and see some sweet moments. I just hope the final episodes come sooner.

It feels like we’ve seen these formulas so many times—FL facing life and job issues (this time with insomnia), burning out in city life, escaping to a village, meeting ML, ML being the village hunk loved by everyone, ML having a hidden sorrowful past, and have a 2ML who instantly likes FL. It checks every familiar box. Nothing new so far.

We can already guess where the story is going. There will be an unnecessary love triangle since 2ML is very open about pursuing FL. ML and FL will have small fights but eventually come to an understanding after a few episodes. FL slowly gets used to village life. We’ve seen this pattern countless times.

Using the same formulas isn’t necessarily bad, but they need to bring something fresh or at least develop some likeable characters. If they can’t do that, this will end up as another forgettable drama. Let’s hope for the best.

Completed the drama. Overall, it was a very good experience, and I’m going to miss it a lot. I liked the ending. Although I wanted more, it was probably the best ending we could have asked for. The characters were carrying death flags from the very beginning, and Wuyi was never meant to exist, so whatever we got is already something to be grateful for, considering the circumstances.

My only complaint would be the excessive focus on Ji Ling. The entire drama revolved around him, and then Wuyi. All the other characters were overshadowed by them. It was probably a deliberate choice by the production team, but the main characters and equal billing things in the cast were honestly very deceiving from them. Another thing, at times, I felt the story was made overly complex. Maybe they could have kept it a bit simpler so it would be easier for everyone to understand.

Tian Jia Rui and Ju Jingyi delivered the best performances in the drama. They were fantastic, and I’ll definitely be looking forward to their next projects. I will miss the JiLu couple—they were the best thing of the drama. I also liked the Wuwu couple a lot. Wishing both couples a happy life in the future.

Overall, I’d say it was a great drama experience. Now, let me wait for another drama that can capture my interest again.
