I think both perspectives can be true. It wouldn’t have been out of character for her to have paid respect, but I also think it isn’t out of character for her not to have done that. I think we are learning different aspects of lanxiang herself.

Especially think that she has been a character that has adapted to her social standing very tactfully, so what she was doing there as a maid and what she can do as a commoner bestowed with an imperial decree? Yeah!

you really need to look at it from her perspective, Lin family has been a part of so much of her trauma, how else do you think she’d react? Esp the grandfather has direct hand in the betrayal. I’m not saying he caused it, but it was a definite betrayal in the time of need you know?

Very true, I think a lot of us enjoyed her leading the story and last few episodes have been so hard on her that it hurts all of too. We do want to enjoy the romance, but not at the cost of her discomfort, we have all come to cherish Lanxiang as character too much for that.

True, I think it’s a good idea that they’re showing him having all these flawed, upper status logic and doing what he’s doing and then getting Lanxiang to whip him into shape, but you know this process is uncomfortable to watch and process.. but I guess that’s just part of watching the show right?
