here comes the issue (and I myself don't really mind Eun Woo as an actor. I think roles of a stoic or even cold…
decibel by a step into right direction I guess, I don't watch that many movies outside of horror genre, so I cannot talk about that one project - simply have not seen it. But in terms of dramas he is either introverted stoic guy, or cheeky playful guy - majority if not all of this roles fit into one of these two boxes. And that's exactly what I said in ALL my previous comments. I never claimed all he does is cold male lead (since none of his leads are even cold).

His role in Island is extremally similar to his role in Hit the Top. As I said, he mostly sticks to two types of characters, with similar personalities and ways of expression.

I am not going to talk about a drama that is not out yet, cannot judge his performance in a show that literally does not exist yet.

My point is the same as it was in all my previous replies - for me his is not diverse actor, and he tends to pick similar roles, I wish to see him in something completely different (the new drama in production might be it). IF he cannot land any other roles than the 2 types he did so far, personally I think he does better with the extroverted cheeky character over stoic ones.

What's your point tho? No one can ever criticize him about anything? Because this seems to be your point from your replies to me.

I am not telling Eun Woo anything, I am not talking to Eun Woo. I'm expressing my opinion about his acting and the roles he is picking on a public forum, which he most likely does not even know exists.

There is not cognitive dissonance, also this is wrong use of the term anyway 🤡
I think he is limiting his chances of IMPROVING HIS ACTING, not improving his popularity. No contradictions here.

I CLEARLY talk in other comments how he picks more or less just 2 types of main roles, and how the way he picks his projects reminds me of Ji Chang Wook, who also kept picking either the same action driven roles, or the same rom-com driven roles, and how I would love for Eun Woo to be in a project with more serious tones, like Ji Chang Wook did with If You Wish Upon Me.

I am not bitching, I am respectfully sharing my opinion, without personally attacking nor name calling either other users, nor Eun Woo himself.

You projecting your anger and assumption on me is ridiculous.

who made you the judge of acting? many people dislike his acting and his roles. stop trying to sound like overprotective fan, your opinion is not more valid than many people who dislike his performances.

also, i am sorry, but if you think acting skills are the only reason people get cast on dramas, you have some learning to do about the industry. marketabililty is a HUGE thing.

and chill, i clearly said many times that I don't think he is as bad as people think, all I'm saying he is limiting himself by not taking more demanding roles. you get sensitive about even valod criticisms thay don't come form hate. if I hated him i would say he should stop acting, not take more diverse roles to work on his the skill.

Criticizing actors' choice in terms of the projects they pick is 100% fair because ot also connects to their job.

Being popular does not equal being good. While him picking similar roles is amazing for his popularity it won't he helpful with improving his skills. He is doing perfect job to be popular actor, not so much to be thought as a good actor.

how to ruin a good script ?? cast cha eun woo as Male lead
yeah, i watch shows he is in because i do not pick shows only based on who the male lead actor is. this one i picked up because i liked the webtoon and I'm a fan of female lead actress. i would still watch it, no matter who was the lead actor. it does makes sense. just some people have more than one criteria to consider when they pick dramas.

Title My Dearest Spoiler
I guess it’s to protect Jang Hyun and because she feels guilty leaving her family behind, but we’ll find out…
after wedding gifts are exchanged legally speaking the husband can claim a woman as his bride. And the guy said that he is going to kill Jang Hyun if they run away and it would be his right, because that was the punishments for infidelity. Would he really kill him? We don't know. But the issue is - he could.

This drama is giving vibes similar to" destined with you" with family curse and all that , fl has similar hair…
as far as I know destined with you with original work, while A Good Day To Be a Dog is based on a webtoon that has been out since 2017, so if anything, Destined With You gives similar vibes to that webtoon

I literally thought she was his wife until he called her mother 🤡
no visible age difference there

here it's honestly not even that bad. At the end of the day his character is supposed to be like 10 years older than high schoolers. There is a show where an actress 2 years YOUNGER than the actors plays his mother 🤡

Also, Eun Woo does look young for his age and this styling makes him look younger too.

Can't talk about Wonderful World, ain't out. But in terms of dramas he takes more or less two type of roles that fit into two boxes. Would love to see him in something more serious as a leading role. Kind of like Ji Chang Wook was stuck as either action or silly rom-com actor, but then took If You Wish Upon Me and played Yoon Kyeo Re, which was a different role than anything he previously tried. I want a project like that for Eun Woo too.

People should be free to criticize and voice their opinions about both good and bad. Obviously, one should be careful how they express their criticisms, because while all opinions are fair, how he express them is a different story.

That said, if everyone just focused on the good aspects of the shows, at least for some people comment sections would be useless, because every show would just simply seem like a perfect production with no flaws - it would not be informative.

Also, I am jealous of your free time if you were able to check the completed lists of all the people who made negative comments about Eun Woo and find out if they watched other dramas from other lead actors 👍🏻

how to ruin a good script ?? cast cha eun woo as Male lead
Well... More or less you are both kind of wrong. It's true he did not gain popularity for being Astro member, but he also did not gain popularity thanks to his acting skills. He gained popularity for the fact since he literally looks like a male lead from webtoon character coming to life. While Astro was not popular, he himself was the only member getting recognition because of his looks, getting invites to variety shows etc. His looks are also the reason he got popular as an actor, because he did fit visually the roles of characters from webtoons. That said, if all he had were looks, he would not stay popular. Gaining popularity is one thing, keeping it is another.

While I think people do overexaggerate how bad he is, for me he is simply doing himself disservice taking roles like this one. It ads to his popularity, but sticking to similar roles and similar genres does nothing to improve his skills. That's why, even though I thought Island was a mess of a show, I actually liked Eun Woo in it a lot, because the character was far more expressive and emotions driven compared to his previous works.

That I agree with. Putting all your energy in things you dislike makes watching a show senseless and takes away from things one does enjoy. That said, it's fair to point out both things we like and dislike about specific titles. And if someone dislikes Eun Woo's acting... so be it 🙃

the people that complain dont like and are not massive fan of any of the leads either < and how do you know that from their one or two short comments?

I'm not saying there are no people hating on him for no reason, but the idea that people should just avoid all the dramas he is in if they don't like his acting is as ridiculous as baseless hate he is receiving from some folks. Because he is not the only aspect that makes the drama, and people might tune in to watch it for other reasons than him, or even despite him being in it even if they don't like him ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The drama has turned out exceptionally well. It's fluffy, cute, and I enjoyed the first episode. The casting appears…
here comes the issue (and I myself don't really mind Eun Woo as an actor. I think roles of a stoic or even cold lead don't fot him and he fits the playful cheeky ones more tho): he is not the only actor in the show. So let's say someone is a massive fan of any of the other cast members - it's not just "no one forces you, stop watching, why are you watching" situation - they watch for the other cast members, or they really like the plot....

There are more reasons to watch a show even if you dislike the acting from one of the main cast and the idea that people who dislike Eun Woo should just avoid his shows instead of complaining about his acting is extremely simplistic and has little to do with reality.

Title A Good Day to Be a Dog Spoiler
Damn the opening scene makes me angry. How much of a dick a dude can be to try to pressure his girlfriend for a kiss in a public place... Like... it's fine to be frustrated because your gf does not want to kiss you at all one freaking year into the relationship, but then talk, and if she does not want to tell you why and it's something you just cannot accept - break up. It's fine. What is not fine is trying to make her kiss you by literally making a publish celebration out of it.

Lee Hyun Woo playing a teacher... I feel old 🤡 which is also funny, coz he is one year older than me but somehow always felt like a baby 😅

I know what's my issue with Eun Woo's acting. Because of his big eyes his resting face looks constantly surprised 🤣

The girl in pink is PRETTY COOL. How she opened the beer bottles with her leg! Damn. That's a skill.

Eun Woo often gets cast as this cold barely speaking lead, when the flirty, playfully cheeky little shit fits his sooooooooooooo much more (like Father Johan lol)

Yo the whole kissing scene 🤣🤣🤣 I would move countries 🙃

THE FUCKING DOG POV WHEN SHE GOES HOME WITH THAT SONG IS A MASTERPIECE 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I mean... I read the webtoon so I know who the dude talking about the curse it, BUT even if I did not, the lips are obvious hahaha

I read the whole webtoon, but I honestly do not remember that much from it. Anyway, first episode was fine. Your typical webtoon rom-com drama 😅
