His role in Island is extremally similar to his role in Hit the Top. As I said, he mostly sticks to two types of characters, with similar personalities and ways of expression.
I am not going to talk about a drama that is not out yet, cannot judge his performance in a show that literally does not exist yet.
My point is the same as it was in all my previous replies - for me his is not diverse actor, and he tends to pick similar roles, I wish to see him in something completely different (the new drama in production might be it). IF he cannot land any other roles than the 2 types he did so far, personally I think he does better with the extroverted cheeky character over stoic ones.
What's your point tho? No one can ever criticize him about anything? Because this seems to be your point from your replies to me.
There is not cognitive dissonance, also this is wrong use of the term anyway 🤡
I think he is limiting his chances of IMPROVING HIS ACTING, not improving his popularity. No contradictions here.
I CLEARLY talk in other comments how he picks more or less just 2 types of main roles, and how the way he picks his projects reminds me of Ji Chang Wook, who also kept picking either the same action driven roles, or the same rom-com driven roles, and how I would love for Eun Woo to be in a project with more serious tones, like Ji Chang Wook did with If You Wish Upon Me.
I am not bitching, I am respectfully sharing my opinion, without personally attacking nor name calling either other users, nor Eun Woo himself.
You projecting your anger and assumption on me is ridiculous.
also, i am sorry, but if you think acting skills are the only reason people get cast on dramas, you have some learning to do about the industry. marketabililty is a HUGE thing.
and chill, i clearly said many times that I don't think he is as bad as people think, all I'm saying he is limiting himself by not taking more demanding roles. you get sensitive about even valod criticisms thay don't come form hate. if I hated him i would say he should stop acting, not take more diverse roles to work on his the skill.
Being popular does not equal being good. While him picking similar roles is amazing for his popularity it won't he helpful with improving his skills. He is doing perfect job to be popular actor, not so much to be thought as a good actor.

also made a mistake, she is 2 years older than him. still too young to play his mother hahaha
no visible age difference there
The ending of episode 2 is just 🤡🤡🤡🤡
Also, Eun Woo does look young for his age and this styling makes him look younger too.
That said, if everyone just focused on the good aspects of the shows, at least for some people comment sections would be useless, because every show would just simply seem like a perfect production with no flaws - it would not be informative.
Also, I am jealous of your free time if you were able to check the completed lists of all the people who made negative comments about Eun Woo and find out if they watched other dramas from other lead actors 👍🏻
While I think people do overexaggerate how bad he is, for me he is simply doing himself disservice taking roles like this one. It ads to his popularity, but sticking to similar roles and similar genres does nothing to improve his skills. That's why, even though I thought Island was a mess of a show, I actually liked Eun Woo in it a lot, because the character was far more expressive and emotions driven compared to his previous works.
I'm not saying there are no people hating on him for no reason, but the idea that people should just avoid all the dramas he is in if they don't like his acting is as ridiculous as baseless hate he is receiving from some folks. Because he is not the only aspect that makes the drama, and people might tune in to watch it for other reasons than him, or even despite him being in it even if they don't like him ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
There are more reasons to watch a show even if you dislike the acting from one of the main cast and the idea that people who dislike Eun Woo should just avoid his shows instead of complaining about his acting is extremely simplistic and has little to do with reality.
Lee Hyun Woo playing a teacher... I feel old 🤡 which is also funny, coz he is one year older than me but somehow always felt like a baby 😅
I know what's my issue with Eun Woo's acting. Because of his big eyes his resting face looks constantly surprised 🤣
The girl in pink is PRETTY COOL. How she opened the beer bottles with her leg! Damn. That's a skill.
Eun Woo often gets cast as this cold barely speaking lead, when the flirty, playfully cheeky little shit fits his sooooooooooooo much more (like Father Johan lol)
Yo the whole kissing scene 🤣🤣🤣 I would move countries 🙃
THE FUCKING DOG POV WHEN SHE GOES HOME WITH THAT SONG IS A MASTERPIECE 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I mean... I read the webtoon so I know who the dude talking about the curse it, BUT even if I did not, the lips are obvious hahaha
I read the whole webtoon, but I honestly do not remember that much from it. Anyway, first episode was fine. Your typical webtoon rom-com drama 😅
