Review Love Class Spoiler
https://theblxpress.wordpress.com/2022/05/19/love-class-series-review-ep-1-to-6/Another point of view! It's as…
I always enjoy reading different opinions, but it somehow feels like they contradict themselves a bit. "Rather than stick to a specific BL formula, they’re willing to risk trying out different concepts" while Love Class also relies on some of the most typical BL tropes. The whole artificial, not well build last minute break up/leaving is a trade mark of Thai BLs, and they for some reason make it happen here too.

I feel like Love Class tries to do what Blueming did, and failed. Both had more in the plot than just romance, both talked about some social issues - just one executed it well, and the other did not.

Also is the review they talk about how we forget our reality id different than people who write the BLs in Korea. The author forgot that some viewers also live in countries that have even worse experience in the lgbtq area. I live in Poland. Some people literally made signs saying "lgbt free-zone". I'd say Poland is as bad in terms of homophobia if not worse than Korea.

Basically the author of the review talks positively about the concept and premise of the show, the idea, but do not really comment on the execution. And that's where the show failed me. I'm sadly not planning to give a participation trophy just for trying 🙃 The author did not talk about writing, production, directing, acting, any technical aspects.

That said, I am always happy if people like the drama, even if I did not. It's always better to enjoy content than not 🤣

love the summary that basically states everything was mediocre 🙃
I did enjoy the friendship a lot tho. The double date was just adorable.

'a curse of asphalt' was truly well done, both song wise and visual wise. My fav.
Il deung was weirdly my favorite character and I think they did the best job with his story. They did not slap me in the face with narration and over explanation, but dropped the hints here and there of what the heck is his deal etc.

long-ish explanation on why the main romance does not quite work for me.

Title Sh**ting Stars Spoiler
I'm not gonna lie, I am watching it for everyone except from main couple. And I enjoy these two's individuals stories, I just don't feel anything about their romance.

Disclaimer: all my subjective opinion and feelings.

The way their story is told is all over the place. Not going linear storytelling is fine, but this just feels like their base story was too weak so they decide to give a got you moment with each and every flashback. It's a romance, I want to see the progression. I don't need a plot twist ever episode as if I'm trying to catch a murderer in murder mystery. They hate each other, but do they? No. They were a couple in university. But where they? No. She never liked him , he only had crush on her, but is this true? No. I honestly don't think it is a good way to tell a love story.

The chemistry, or rather the lack of it. Honestly speaking, their interaction in the current timeline feels more like best friends or siblings. I don't get the old married couple bickering. I get a siblings bickering vibes. It's fun, but not romantic in any way. We are half way through and I feel exactly ZERO sparks between them. Any romantic leaning scene, Lee Sung Kyung does a "scared fish" face. Every single time. And I don't blame her for it. She might not be the best actress out there, but this is a lack of diversity in acting even rookie actresses don't show. I put the blame on the director. For some reason he wanted it to be like that, he instructed her what he wants to see, and she delivered it. And it's just poor directing choice.

On the other hand I like her with the lawyer, even tho they also don't have that much chemistry 🙃 But with him being more forward with his feelings this fits the setting and the age of the characters more. These are not teens after all. Also, Lee Jung Shin just does a good job with romantic lines delivery, so that's a plus.

That said, I do enjoy both Han Byul and Tae Sung individually. I like the work scene from Han Byul and how she deals with it. I love to watch her interactions with co-workers. I am also interested in Tae Sung's back story with his mother, and now the lady that helps in his house. Also, him and his manager are cute too.

To sum it up, I like quite a few things about this show, but I can't get on board with the main romance. It feels all over the place, does nothing for me and on more than once occasion I barely stopped myself from skipping their scenes.

Review 2gether
Do you know this users main acc?
For starters, there are many people who create additional account to either get the rating for their fav dramas higher, or lower with reviews just like yours, and then we don't see them ever again on mdl. So basically fake reviews.

If you are not one of these people, good. Still, your review is AT BEST misleading. You say in the last line you dropped on episode 5, yet the review is marked as "completed". There is an option to state you dropped the show and on which episode exactly.

I don't care about 2gether. I rated it 7/10 and I was extremely generous only because I was watching it with friends and that's where the entertaining part happened. What I care about is the quality of reviews on this website.

They be dragging so long that I decided to start shipping Han Byul and Tae Sung as friends now
Same. Honestly their bickering gives me such a siblings or best friends vibe 🤣

Whatever is going on between Kang Yoo Sung, Park Ho Yeong and Kang Shi Deok is far more entertaining than the main couple for me!

How I thought the "love lines" go in the show:
Ho Yeong likes Yoo Sung, Yoo Sung likes Da Hye, Da Hye likes Tae Sung, + my imagination shipping Ho Yeong and Shi Deok.

But daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn Yoo Sung looked disappointed and surprised when Ho Yeong ignored him (so he could not pat her head) and run to Shi Deok. I did not even imagine Yoo Sung might have any type of feelings for her, but I'm soooooooooooooooo for it 🤣

Why the name 'Sh**ting Stars'? This title always turns me off from starting this drama.
Korean tittle 별똥별 which means shooting star, but if you separate the syllable it becomes star, poop, star. It's a pun.

in my review I said "Watching this drama was like reading well written fanfic." and I stand by it 🤣
It had that simple but endearing vibe.
And I completely agree that for a short project like that, it had pretty good balance between the scenes and parts of the plot :)

Seo YeJi lost a lot of ads/movie/drama offers after scandal with her ex. Even a drama that was specifically written…
For sure. I'm only talking about the projects that were announced. What happens behind the scene for projects that were in making and not known to public yet is a whole different world.

Yeah I'm not saying she was guilty of it or not. Just that it was not a "dating scandal" but "abuse scandal" which is different.

Through the years of listening to kpop and watching dramas, I have never heard of someone loosing job for just dating. Sure, some fans were annoyed, but I never heard anyone lost a project coz of it. Usually there was more into the story if there was any bad feedback from the industry (not the fans, they always have issue lol).

I mean the Korean entertainment industry looks down upon it. Hyuna & Dawn’s contract was cancelled when they…
Hyuna & Dawn's case was more complicated tho. Obviously the company wanted to keep the relationship secret so that's the statement CUBE made - they are not dating. But then Hyuna & Dawn confirmed their relationship shortly after, which made the company into liars, could be an issue with any future "scandals" they deny - fans could think if the company lied once, they might be lying in any case they speak about.

Don't get me wrong, CUBE is shit, one of the worst companies out there, and the whole idea that idols need to keep their relationships secret is bullshit, but some cases are more complicated than just cancelling contract coz they were caught dating.

to be fair, she was not just in a simple dating scandal. She was accused of psychologically abusing her boyfriend. That's a bit different than just two actors dating, so I'd say her situation is not exactly a good example here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

other music lacked "impact" < totally agree. "Curse of Asphalt" was for me the best. And the overall music wise, the instrumentals were THE highlight.
