I’m on ep 10.
I usually share my opinion towards the end of any drama but I just have to come to say something.
Seen my fair share of costume dramas but this one….this one has the most impressive visuals & scenic/set designs yet.
Feast for the eyes…the attention to details is nothing but Art in every scene.
I’m just in awe..especially the palace designs.
Of course the view of the people is also divine 🤭

Ep 26 is just the same trust issues starting over again.
They clearly love each other and while both are intelligent people who have lived as husband & even brought their communications to telling the hard truths yet still keep running around the topic of loving each other even though their actions are clear of each other’s intentions.
Like yeah…it’s cute & it’s understandable for a bit but it’s every episode since the divorce.
The drama just went from a matured serious topic to comedy & teenage theme of I should but I shouldn’t.
Nothing wrong with that but it doesn’t suit the ML drastic change of character.
I’m on the p 27 and i just skipped the whole business talk again…her start-up is literally imputed into all the lead’s conversations yet avoiding the obvious.
It just looks like they are gonna drag it till the end.
Thought it’ll be something different in this drama from the others….I absolutely love the cast & maybe that’s the issue…expectations plus the one on one ep release isn’t ideal anymore

Ohh the boredom is starting to set in 😩

You’re not wrong on both things…yes it’s a good watch & people shouldn’t deter from enjoying it but the depth of the script in the romance department didn’t really show through.
The chemistry wasn’t fully convincing & even though the last scene of him in the past heartbroken was perfection it wasn’t really believable considering they only shared just a few intimate moments together.
Perhaps the drama wasn’t long enough but the focus was so much on the food that the romance looked more like best friends enjoying getting to know each other.
Not that the food aspect was lacking…it too was the most enjoyable part for me.
What truly disappointed me in this drama was the lack of explanations for it’s ending.
Potholes were too many to take this seriously.

Kudos to the writers cause each lifetime issues they solved had a whole drama worthy ending.
At first I thought the plot was moving nice but fast results then realised it was just a part of another bigger plot.

One thing I liked here is that the ML had strong powers that never diminished even at his weakest…even when he needed rest his powers was able to destroy anyone he wanted.
Most similar dramas would have the lead’s power so disabled they easily get defeated or injured by lesser beings in fights.
Here the only time he was overpowered is because he willingly let it. His real enemies never really injured him to the extreme.

They are a bit slow on the new airing dramas

True…a lot of the criticisms are valid and I can see their point…somehow 💁🏻‍♀️
But I saw some people are rating a whole drama very low based on expectations letdown and I felt bad for everyone working hard on this.
The fact of the matter is very simple….the drama did well from start to end.
Yes the beginning was definitely more entertaining & like you said chemistry was off the scales but the ending wasn’t disappointing & everything ended well.

I was hoping they didn’t change the end and make it the mourning endings these type of dramas favours.

Tough crowd in here..
It may have slowed a bit towards the end but some ya’ll are making it out like it’s a big deal.
In comparison to 70% of similar dramas ever made this ranks high regardless of viewers expectations.
This is why good dramas never get the ratings they deserve.
As a viewer that appreciates strong & smart female leads in a great plot..I would support any future dramas that would encourage this.
No squemish & clueless FL leads here 👌
Yes I’ve read the novel & loved it and since real life adaption of good novels are never on the same level I will have to say that from production, Effects, OST, costume, plot & Acting…they all did well making this come to life

2ML’s mother has passed away when he was a boy….FL’s mother is well and alive.
Because of identity switch she is regarded as FL’s aunt instead and has to have next to no contact with FL.

Right. Plot although going along the same lines & direction it literally differ from the novel from chapter 1 so I don’t understand the constant comparison.
They obviously made the drama more realistic in reality than the novel & for that I enjoy it..probably more.
Obviously I love the novel but people have to understand that the characters & scenarios aren’t gonna be the same since the novels dwell into the character’s mind & thoughts not to mention the writers would literally point out the mood of it’s surroundings for us to read.
Even if you missed the plot’s intention the words would tell you how to feel.
Dramas can’t do that…. here the actors are doing so well for their roles but if your eyes can’t read the room then that’s probably your expectations making you blind to a good watch

Went through all that yet only got engage on the 10th yr back. 🤭 good version anyhow.

I’m glad there are some who actually understood the plot & it’s characters 😆

Right my exact line of thoughts at first…how is she gonna pull off being a general with her size 😆
Or she doesn’t have a demanding presence & why was she chosen to be a general by ML’s father.
But slowly we see the intelligence behind the sweet fake identity she created.
Nothing gets me happy than watching a smart or strong FL.
So far we can detect she can be deadly in her own way of battle & can see intelligence when planning & scheming plus awareness….i now starting to understand exactly what ML’s father saw in her.

Weirdly I never liked the FL in any of her other dramas…here is alright her lack of charm in some parts actually contributes to her role considering she’s supposed to be general commanding warriors in battle.
I am impressed with her skills and how she switches between deadly & coy.
It’s actually refreshing seeing her in this role.
