Yeah i'm gonna go and put this on hold...I need a break from it...The FL is naive to the point of stupidity...An assassin that does not want to assassinate...which I would not even mind if every other episode she wasn't constantly saying she'll do whatever it takes to survive...okay then kill my guy.

I really wanted to like this because I thought she'd turn into a badass female assassin but so far its just her saying she'll complete her mission no matter what it takes...doing the opposite of that in the next episode...feeling sorry for herself...people saving her to progress the plot.

If at some point she does indeed become a badass assassin let me know and I'll push through to get to that point...but for now imma put it back on the shelf.

Shin Rin Ah the child actress who played Eun Sung was absolutely amazing in this role...I recently rewatched this drama and I'm still in awe over what an amazing actress she is especially at such a young age

I was really hesitant to keep watching it...but knowing that crazy lady gets a happy ending...nah...that seals the deal for me...I'm out!...Thanks for this comment btw...i was really interested in what was the ending for her like.

I'm on the first episode and I'm already irritated with the FL why is she lying so much and also the idea of her being so ill-prepared that she didn't have that painting already in its case in her room close to her bag so she could just grab it and go in the morning on such an important day is so difficult to wrap my head around...anddd the idea that she just grabbed any painting in hopes that it might be hers is so freaking ridiculous....I'm gonna keep watching because of the good reviews/comments and ratings though but I had to rant about that... I really hope she improves cause right now her character sucks.

lol definitely not just you...her dramas are usually so bad because of the annoying characters she plays and sadly it has made me dislike the actress to the point where I second guess watching anything she's in...which is weird because in here she's actually really tolerable and I always wondered if it was the actress or the awful ways the characters she plays is written and because of this drama I feel its the characters she plays. I'm happy for her that she blew up but its like she was type casted into this annoying often clueless character with the roles she now plays.

oh my gosh this drama was surprisingly really really really good (I binged it in 2 days)...and my expectations were so low going into this (I watched it because I had nothing else to watch) but I'm so happy I gave it a chance.

If you're hesitant to watch it because The main couple were siblings in JOL.. it's really not that serious and get over yourself...its called acting for a reason.

It does give you JOL feels slightly but it's really not like JOL at all. I recommend watching this if you like shows with smart ML's and just good plot.

100% agree with you. It got tired after awhile. He only realized the error of his ways when she left him and all he had to do was apologize and she'd go back. I couldnt get over how he kept choosing everyone over her...When he believed Zheng Er over her...I was done. Even though she didnt love Emperor Yuwen Yong, I would have preferred for her to stay in Northern Zhou just for peace of mind sake.

Well honestly I expected them to handle it better and for the side storylines to be good while not taking away from the main ones...obviously that was asking for too much...yeah I think the episodes could have been shorter but I have watched modern dramas with numerousepisodes like this but the pacing was done well...i will have to stick with it being bad writing

wow this drama is bad...the first part of this drama was completely unnecessary and the second part barely tolerable.

I started this drama sometime last year and then dropped it because it seemed boring to me then i picked it up back again and I'm so glad i did...this is such a gem. I enjoyed it so much. I love ML's like Ning Que..the always ready with a sarcastic or teasing comment, smart and strong. Hence, why i also love Joy of life and fight break sphere. Anyways would definitely reccomend.

When i tell yall the comment section on Viki was as divided as the 'back hill' when it came to the "romance" aspect...i enjoyed the ship divide because it was just so funny...lol i will say i definitely agreed with second brother when it comes to that because i felt like first brother was doing too much in that regard.

What's her face overstayed her welcome...i was fed up of seeing her 4 episodes after her appearance (love the actress though).

Lol he isn't handsome but i found his looks realistic...and he played his role of emperor so well like honestly you get past that after a few episodes. Its like really inconsequential unless you're just watching it for looks. I mean the second ML isnt bad looking so there's that. But you're not wrong...the fact that he favors her is definitely a plus...its what made him tolerable to me.

Yeah for plot progression the romance was necessary but it felt unnecessary because I was just like excited for the action, plotting and adventures.

I enjoyed the show so much though...but I will admit i'm mad i didnt wait until season 2 because the ending. I couldnt sleep for 2 nights because of how much I was thinking about it... lol

I definitely understand that her role played an important part in a lot of ways ofc i'm not disputing that guys. Lemme try to rephrase. I meant if the drama took out the romance and found some way to make the storyline work without her even being a factor (say for example she was not even a character to begin with) the story would have been fine either way. But given that she is there i understand her role was an important one to his arch especially like you mentioned with the emotional support after his friend died (you should mark that as spoiler btw) and him eventually agreeing to go to Northern Qi...

However, if she was never a character to begin with and her role in moving the plot forward was replaced in some way or the other..it would not have made much of a difference and the show would have still been super great hence why I said that her role in itself wasnt necessary because if we never met her or her character was never even shown to begin with...it wouldnt have made that great a difference to overall story because I was there for the action and the plotting. The romance scenes with them were very meh to me.

I would not be very surprised if Li Qin does not reprise her role. I love the actress I have watched a lot of her work and she did played Wan'er quite well so if she indeed does not reprise the role she will be missed.

she is frustrated...she is tired...she is fed up...she is me! I cannot do it anymore...Lord knows I tried to finish this but damnnnnnnn this show is so draggy...every god-forsaken plot is dragged out...I don't think I've ever skipped so much in a show before. Not to mention how utterly USELESS the male lead is...yes I know he gets strong "eventually" but yooo if I have to see him be saved one more time I might reach my hand through this laptop and just kill him myself. Maybe I'll revisit it later and force myself to watch it out but 24 episodes later and all I feel is hate...towards myself, for even starting this drama, to begin with....and honestly if I knew I wasn't going to be dragged around in another useless plot I might have kept watching it. However, I love my eyes and I love my brain and I cannot do this to them anymore.

I coincidentally went into Zanilla's profile to find an old drama I plan on watching (cant remember the name but she's the FL) and saw the news of their divorce...TODAY...like the legit announced it TODAY!...I checked the date twice to make sure I wasn't seeing things...Oh man I loved them together so much but I still wish them both nothing but the best and happiness even if its not with each other *tears*.

Somebody said that after episode 40 they finally figured out who the FL is...Prince Jing...I've been laughing since cause no lies were told.

I really began to dislike Jing's character somewhere in the middle...the unrelenting stubbornness ad the 'action first...questions later' made it super hard for me to like him...like dude just calm down and think....overall it was still great though...the acting was A1!

This is one drama I will say the romance was unnecessary and this is coming from a girl who lives for romance. I love Li Qin as an actress but her role as Wan'er was so unnecessary. I could have lived without the romance...It would have still been great either way! ...

I will greatly miss all the characters in this show...even the evil ones were outstanding...This drama deserves the hype!
