The production is very unique making this drama standout. we had a lot of face swap/transmigration/rebirth dramas…
I would call it a face swap done right and logically, it's not some magical stuff going one but part of the bigger FL's revenge scheme. Topic itself is also used well to add more suspense and gives actors some place to show off with their acting abilities. It makes me happy and excited to see more dramas done on "darker side", it feels refreshing (I liked My Journey to You, too, can't wait for Fangs of Fortune to air).
Plus dubious intentions aside, it was her suggestion after all that gave the female lead this chance to make a…
I think it was to stir up even more on the connections and exclusivity among people who are already in power. It brings more imbalance. If the exams would not base on the teamwork, that could be considered an equal treatment. Otherwise, it just makes powerful people more powerful and takes away the possibilities from less lucky ones.
Looks like Youku is doing quite well in the first half of this year when it comes to costume dramas. I picked up randomly Blossoms in Adversity first to be positively surprised and looks like it's the same case with The Double. I'm after ep 9 and enjoying it so far. Can't wait for the story to unfold, I feel that we are just at the very beginning.
How's this thing so far? I dropped Fox and want a drama with a good storyline and substance.
Hah, same, dropped FSMM and started watching this one to be absolutely positively surprised. It's on a darker side, ML's and FL's acting is spot on, no filler scenes. So far, so good, worth to try for sure!
For me this is a black horse among this year’s kdramas, right next to Lovely Runner. It deserves to reach 9.0 rating, no doubts. Fingers crossed for it to happen and for more people to have a chance to watch this hidden gem.
Just finished Ashes of Love and was looking for any of his newer projects to watch since I absolutely fell in love with his portrayal of Phoenix. Sad to see what happened with him.
I was postponing to watch this one because of the cgi (yes, that’s shallow of me, I know 😅) but let me tell…
Finished and no doubts one of my all time favorite dramas. Ok, cgi sometimes just made me literally laugh by oh lord everything else was delivered at the highest level possible. Story, acting, message in last episodes. If you are hesitating to watch, stop, JUST WATCH IT
I was postponing to watch this one because of the cgi (yes, that’s shallow of me, I know 😅) but let me tell you, I am just 2 episodes in and I LOVE IT. This drama has an “it factor” which I’ve been missing to see in recent fantasy dramas.
After 12 episodes..7.9 isn't good.. Is this another failed drama for Mi and GongJun?Or bc it aired with the King…
I don’t think it has anything with Joy of Life 2 airing at the same time. I’ve been watching both in parallel and those two are so different that comparing them doesn’t make sense at all. When JoL2 is more focused on plotting, complex characters and politics, FSMM is all for the visuals, magic and love.
I will keep it on hold for now. Watched 9 episodes and I am mostly invested with the side stories (Princess & Demon are my favs, wishing to see more of Yaya and A Lai). I will be back here in a while to check if I want to continue. This drama is such an eye candy with the amazing CGI and beautiful cast, but the story itself is not that entertaining (yet?). It’s also still hard for me to imagine ML and FL as lovers, I was hoping for the slow burn but in my eyes it’s not progressing at all. Something feels off with the pacing. Fingers crossed for the potential of this drama not to be waisted.
