Came here to say exactly the same thing. Their story may be simpler than the one 1CP has but the acting and chemistry are more nuanced. Baek Sung Chul is a total scene stealer for me, he definitely deserves his own drama as the ML.
I like the 3ML, he seems like an interesting person with the mix of "all business and restrain" and "I like her crazy" but the 3FL's "independence" and "being tough" feels a bit... forced? But why she's like that...? Hopefully she will get some more depth, she's been falling a bit flat so far.

Meanwhile, MJ wants to prove that she's "the real deal" and show him that she's strong enough to take care of herself, to the point where she acts recklessly and makes him worry even more. At the same time, it's not like she dislikes having him worry about her. She associates his concern with the love and attention she never received from her mother, so she ends up relying on it too much. That's what makes MJ so contradictory. She wants to be an independent adult and to be seen as CY's equal, but subconsciously she can't stop acting like a damsel in distress because that's when she feels the most loved and cared for.
And let's be honest, I think that's actually good writing. They're not perfect adults with perfect childhoods or perfect pasts. They entered adulthood carrying a lot of emotional scars, and it takes a great deal of work and self-awareness to heal from that.

I've been working in compliance in the medical/pharmaceutical industry, with some exposure to financial audits as well, and to be honest, I feel like financial audits are even more intimidating and rigorous. Especially when they're conducted by potential clients or companies you're hoping to partner with.
As someone who's been working in regulatory compliance for the last 13 years, I can't stop laughing at how this drama handles this topic.

I can't imagine anyone treating an auditor like that. It's usually the exact opposite; everyone does their best to make sure there are no deviations or issues, even if it means painting the grass green.
Even if the company were an absolute mess, it's practically unheard of for the people being audited to act so aggressively, confrontationally, or outright disrespectfully toward the auditors.
That's the magic of fiction, I guess. It makes for much better drama if it's portrayed this way 😅

I will never understand rating any drama or tv show after one or two episodes. But it's also the difference between China and the worldwide audience, it wouldn't be the first time such a difference occurs.
This drama has one of the best written supporting characters, including second male lead or female lead’s mother and father (but not limited to!). You may not agree with some of them or their decisions but after finishing this drama I fully understand those characters. That’s impressive and deserves more recognition for the creators and actors :)
I would definitely add Business to the list of genres. The moment I realized the English title of this drama “Shine on Me” is not only related to the main couple but also to the photovoltaics which are a big part of the work environment they’re working in 😂
